Hilarious??? Has the past 8 years been HILARIOUS so far??? The failures of ANY president is no laughing matter!!! I hope you didnt think that the failures of President Bush was HILARIOUS. Americans loosing their homes, jobs and 401k retirements isnt HILARIOUS. Fighting two wars with no end in sight doesnt strike me as funny. With economists uttering the word RECESSION and promising a huge increase of job loses in the manufacturing, financial, housing and real estate markets, no American should be chuckling at such dire circumstances.

- It was a hard fought draining election. Some fell behind one candidate from the start, some along the way and some decided when voting. As McCain said, "The American people have spoken." We knew only one would win. Looking at the numbers, it''s not a far fetched generalization to say about half supported one or the other but Obama prevailed - he won the popular and electoral vote. One cannot dispute or cry foul play - President-Elect Obama won this election. Following his lead I too am acting with grace and respect. No finger pointing, no I told you so''s. At the end of the day regardless of your political leanings, Obama is your new President, the leader of your country.
To the naysayers, give the man a chance! Put the politics behind accepting what you know is true - no president can deliver on every promise and everything takes time! You know this and are stupid to think otherwise. President-Elect Obama has done something none of us have ever seen in our lives - he got a country reinvolved in their government. He got the world looking at us again with hope. He rose above insurmountable odds to achieve something most thought could ever happen in being the first black man elected POTUS. Look at all he''s accomplished already with eyes wide open and hope in your heart! Put your petty bitterness, hate behind you and realize, we can unite as a country, we can stand behind this President and accomplish amazing things! Yes, we can! - Reply to this comment
- If Obama really wants to deliver on his mantra and promise about change, he had better seriously work across the aisle and bring on board some Repubs, whether they''re conservative or moderate. His history, however, indicates that he''s not willing to do that. And, without doing that, there will be no substantive change, only rancor and more of the same, of which Obama was heavily entrenched in. - You voted for higher taxes. You%u2019re going to pay them too%u2026 just like me. You voted for more government and less freedom. You voted for cuts in military spending as we fight 2 wars against a committed enemy. You voted for the same people and policies that have devastated the housing market and our economy. You have given the reins of power to the most under qualified, inexperienced and dubious candidate in our lifetime. This is not debatable. You chose an unknown quantity over a giant who has spent his life in service to America and who in the words of your own standard bearers has the right stuff for the presidency.
All that being said, what is done is done. Enjoy your victory, but as the euphoria fades, remember the ball is now in your court. There will be no George Bush or any republicans to blame now. It%u2019s now time to put up or shut up. I for one will give President elect Obama and this new administration the benefit of the doubt but I and my conservative brethren will be watching closely and if and when things go awry we will know exactly where to lay the blame.
