What is wrong with ALL of us paying the exact same rate? How would that be unfair?

Posted by grouchyjohn at 05:06 PM : Nov 04, 2008

Nothing, that''s the problem with it.

However if you did that the Tax preparers would raise a stink, as well as CPA''s and accounts, attorneys who also do taxes. What would we do with all those ex IRS folks?

See it''s way sooooooooooo simple.

Oh so Obama is only going to increase it 3.5 trillion instead of 5 trillion. I guess that makes him tens times better then bush and Mccain. But none of this factors in his health care plan which he has never said how he would pay for he has just said it was going to be expesive at first.

Posted by McCain08NC at 05:07 PM : Nov 04, 2008

The health care plan IS included in that figure. And yes he HAS detailed how he would pay for it - even noting that it would come up $50 - $65 billion dollars short, which would have to be added to the national debt.

Sorry to burst you bubble.

But where is the $5 TRILLION that McCain is going to spend going, if the middle class are going to have to foot the bill for his failure of a health care plan, that won''t cover anyone?

I suppose you think Obama''''''''s 500 check he is promising you will fix everything. I know it is hard for you to realize but every reputable economist has said raising taxes in a time of economic hard ship will do nothing but cripple the economy.

AS THE financial crisis pushes the economy back to the top of voters%u2019 concerns, Barack Obama is starting to open up a clear lead over John McCain in the opinion polls. But among those who study economics for a living, Mr Obama%u2019s lead is much more commanding. A survey of academic economists by The Economist finds the majority%u2014at times by overwhelming margins%u2014believe Mr Obama has the superior economic plan, a firmer grasp of economics and will appoint better economic advisers.

In addition to this astonishing wealth redistribution, Alaska is also one of the country''''''''s largest welfare states based upon per capita federal spending versus federal taxes paid.
No wonder PALIN%u2019s so popular - SHE IS AN ALASKAN SOCIALIST!!!!!

He''s NOT GOING TO RAISE the taxes on those making less than $250,000, so the whole point of raising taxes is moot anyway.

And even when he does institute his new tax policies, when do you think they''re going to take effect?

November 5, 2008?

There are plenty of economists, including The Economist magazine, that would be glad to refute your claim...It''s time the middle class had more money in their pockets and not corporations.
