"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government", "and I won''t be buried under their d*a*m*n flag."
"I''m an Alaskan, not an American. I''ve got no use for America or her damned institutions."
Jo Vogel, Founder of AIP
Sarah Palin addressed the Alaskan Independence Party Convention a little over 6 months ago, happily telling its attendees that she shared its "vision of upholding the Constitution of our great state", curiously not mentioning the Constitution of the United States. She encouraged AIP to "keep up the good work".- Reply to this comment
- doctor_coo1,
McCain already took them all when he was their keynote speaker in 2006.
Funny how you guys can hate something you know nothing about, but love someone who got us stuck in never-ending wars based on lies.
You''ve got your priorities all wrong.
Start over. - Reply to this comment
- God doesn''t like UGLY CUT-AND-PASTE SPAMMERS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES THAN DEFAME PEOPLE WHO DID NOTHING TO THEM.
That''s why he makes such posts illegible. - Reply to this comment
- There are a lot of fringe theories being "reported" here in the comments section. THAT DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT that the NEWS story we''re all commenting on reports serious acts of voter intimidation. Does anyone else see that this has been a completely one-sided effort? How many wealthy white Republicans have been harassed? How many??? ZERO. I feel like the GOP has highjacked our democratic nation. I''m fed up and I want my democracy back, thank you. VOTE OBAMA-BIDEN!

Why do Republicans feel they have to cheat, steal, lie and smear to win elections?- Reply to this comment
- In fact, McCain agreed that his plan would require sacrifice, but he also argued (correctly) that in the long-run, America would be better off.
They aren''t dealing with reality, they are trying to construct a new reality. For years, they''ve been able to maintain political power by doing just that, but now that the reality of their disastrous governance has caught up to them, their ability to lie their way to victory has been severely damaged.
For better or for worse, it''s a lesson they still haven''t learned. They still think they can fake their way through it.
But that''s not really the important thing. The important thing is that we are overcoming their grip on power. And for that, the world is a better place. - Reply to this comment
- Here''s the facts that the McCain-Drudge-FOX axis of weasel does not want you to know: The Chronicle had not concealed the recording, which had been on the newspaper''s website all along. And rather than reveal some sinister scheme, what it actually demonstrated was that Barack Obama supported clean coal technology -- a position he shares with none other than John McCain.
Despite the fact that both candidates support clean coal technology, the McCain campaign tried to make the case that Barack Obama wanted to take away jobs from coal country in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and both Drudge and FOX were happy to oblige.
But just three years ago on the floor of the United States Senate, John McCain''s Republican colleague George Voinovich of Ohio took to the floor to argue against a proposal by McCain to curb greenhouse gas emissions. McCain''s proposal, Voinovich said, would "put coal out of business" and cost thousands of jobs, an argument that McCain did not contest. - Reply to this comment
- McCain''s Desperate Coal Attack Debunked
Not only was that story false, but it turns out that Barack Obama and John McCain have the same position on clean coal technology, and Ohio''s Republican senator said McCain''s plan to fight global warming would "put coal out of business."

Ohio''s GOP Senator: McCain "Will Put Coal Out Of Business"
On Sunday, John McCain launched the final attack of his campaign, a fraudulent assault on Barack Obama that serves as a fitting reminder of the fundamental dishonesty not only of his own campaign, but also of the dishonesty of his allies in the right-wing propaganda establishment: Matt Drudge and FOX News.
All you need to know to understand the video is that the Drudge, FOX, and the McCain campaign joined forces with Newsbusters to push a story that the San Francisco Chronicle had concealed an eleven month old recording that supposedly contained devastating audio of Barack Obama proposing to bankrupt the entire coal industry.
Not only was that story false, but it turns out that Barack Obama and John McCain have the same position on clean coal technology, and Ohio''s Republican senator said McCain''s plan to fight global warming would "put coal out of business." - Reply to this comment

- whosaid1,
My logic is this. Bush/Cheney/Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Powell all lined up and we should have known that this combination was intended on leading us into war(s).
I don''t mind fighting for my country. I''d sign up again for a real cause. But, I''m not signing up to make a few people rich. That''s not a good reason...in my opinion. - Reply to this comment
- Mccain, Bush, and the rest of the GOP-
Managed to take Clinton''s surplus,
And 8 years later they replaced it with:
Bigger Gov''t --
Though they promised Smaller Govt-
Greater Debt-
Though they promised fiscal responsibility-
The largest Trade Deficit in history-
Outsourcing millions of US jobs
Then they Pulled a Commie Chavez move
Nationalizing Fannie and Freddie
The Socialization of our Financial Institutions-
With Billions in tax payer paid bailouts-
Institutional Welfare for Wall Street Incompetents-
War in Iraq and Afghanistan
Costing us 10 Billion + a month
Ridicule throughout the world--
But they did give Tax breaks and incentives to:
The upper 3% -
To Big Oil,
And the GOP Defense Conglomerates--
The Choice is Astonishingly Clear---
VOTE GOP
VOTE MCSAME
CONTINUE THE BUSH LEGACY
FOUR MORE GLORIOUS YEARS
OF GOP BS

You see only black and white and for this, you will never understand the complexities of mankind in its fullest nature.
One, Iraq before we invaded was a secular society, not a fundamentalist one. Saddam was in love with himself, but not a radical islamists. Christians were treated better in Iraq than some muslims.
Two, Iraq after we invaded, the ones who were cheering were the Shias, friends of Iraq. We gave the country to the Shia and they are working to turn it into a PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF IRAQ.
Three, the insurgents that we are killing now in Iraq are in many ways the insurgents that we complained about Saddam killing before we started killing them and now it is okay to do.
Four, what is the logic of taking over a secular nation to give it to fundamentalist islamists in order to fight against fundamentalist islam?
It doesn''t make any sense, because it never was meant to make sense.
We invade Iraq....FOR THE OIL and FOR THE CORPORATE WAR MACHINE (Halliburton, Bechtel, Blackwater, etc.).

I served in the military for 8 long years and got out because Bush was "selected" in 2000. I didn''t think he was good for America and I have the same feelings with McCain. The last time I had such a feeling, I sold my house in 2005 and have been renting ever since. McCain is a mistake and his choice of Palin and his erratic behavior when the financial crisis started, DO NOT GIVE ME CONFIDENCE! I also don''t agree with the GOP policies, so the experience argument doesn''t work on me. It doesn''t matter if you''ve climbed a mountain 40 times, if it is the wrong mountain. - Reply to this comment

McCain supporters are so full of hate that they don''t realize others don''t work on that emotion like they do. Texas is nothing but a load of hatred. That''s why McCain''s divisive tactics work so well. They want to believe because they never saw America as a united force. They''ve always been focused on what divides us. Unfortunately for them, we are no longer competing with each other. We are competing with the world. - Reply to this comment

- whatithink10: Don''t make a lot of assumptions about me....I have, within the 40 + years I''ve been voting....voted for both parties. But, like some other voters...when given an option of TWO...I attempt to select the one I think is the the "best" for the county. In this case I don''t see Obama as being the "best".
