Democrat's Half-Hour Infomercial Appears On Numerous Networks In Campaign's Final Stretch

Yeah - definitely not one of McCain''''s best moments - but by choosing Palin - I think is entire credibility has been lost and his campaign has been really ugly and dirty since September.

He has not lead an inspiring campaign that''s for sure. - Reply to this comment
- have no issue with that part of it at all. The issue is using a park bench as an address means you have ZERO traceability. I want everyone who is eliegble to vote...and vote only once! This ruling is opening up a pandora''''''''s box for the lawyers on both sides of the political aisle.

I know it''s not optimal, but does anyone have a better idea, because NOT to count the vote of a US citizen is anathema to anyone who supports the constitution. And it is both hypocritical and disingenuous for McCain supporters to push back on this without at least acknowledging that they recognize most of these people are Obama voters. - Reply to this comment

I definitely agree with you on this - lawyers on both sides will have a field day - I just hope it doesn''''t come down to the U.S. Supreme court deciding on who becomes President as they did in 2000.

Whoever wins, I hope it is by a large margin so there is no doubt who the winner is.
The campaigning has been bad enough to live through, I don''t want to go through, again, what we have in the last two post elections. - Reply to this comment
- Obama even admits it himself, his wants to give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs here! WELL IF IT MAKES SENSE TO REWARD A COMPANY FOR STAYING HERE, WHY RAISE THE TAX IN THE FIRST PLACE???
Posted by Mike_C_NH at 05:09 PM : Oct 30, 2008
Obama is returning the tax rates back to the rates that were held during the Clinton years. For whatever it is worth, our next President is going to have a mess on his hands due to the last eight years of Bush''''s economic and foreign policies - for me - Obama gives me hope for a better future for me and my family - not McCain as he is not the McCain of 2000. That is why as a registered independent - I already voted for Obama.
Take a look at the REAL NUMBERS...the bottom 50% of taxpayers today pay LESS of the burden than they did under Clinton. Now you want the Bottom 1/2 to carry More ???? You have got to stop buying into propaganda and start looking at REAL DATA.
You do understand that Obama''s 95% means if you & your husband combine for an AGI over 153K...your going to be one of those people handing over your hard earned money... - Reply to this comment

No one wants to address it, because its political suicide. The fact of the matter is unless you want to go to socialist style of life, there will ALWAYS be those who have less than others.
That is the heart of this that neither party will openly address. If you are an unskilled HS drop out working at a local store, making minmum wage or just a bit more, there is no way you are going to be able to affford a car, rent, and food. Now if your also trying to raise a child, or be the bread winner in a family, its not going to work either.
Now, unless as a country, we want to reward a drop out or an unskilled worker with a 50K handout every year, there is NO easy answer. That person can if they choose, take advantage of any of the thousands of government programs available to help them obtain the skills they need.
Its very very old story...BUT TRUE

I agree with you - we are all Americans... And if McCain wins (big if here) - I hope he will be in great health for the next four years and return to his more moderate positions that he had in 2000.
Posted by melnycgirl-1 at 05:16 PM : Oct 30, 2008
McCain kinda reminds me of Dole when he ran. They both have been around so long they thinK it is their "turn" to be President because of time served to the country.
I still want to smack McCain over his stupid jokes about "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran" and when he found out we sell Iran a lot of tobacco products he had to say "Well, maybe we can kill them off that way".
I mean, if you are running for President, how stupid do you have to be to make jokes like these? - Reply to this comment

- "It was on CNN this morning - kind of silly if you ask me but what they were trying to protect (if I understood the program correctly) - Ohio has a LOT of foreclosures and due to higher displaced families and such Ohio Elections Committee wanted to give those legally registered American citizens in Ohio a chance to vote - even if they lived in a shelter or with another family member and not their original registered Ohio mailing address."

More than taxes, I believe the answer to your question is cheap labor.
There is little that prevents American businesses from going to China, for example, to save labor costs. More than taxes, I think labor costs are a huge issue and I really haven''t seen anyone address it. To me, it seems even a bigger issue than Mexican immigrant labor. Either way, I would hate to face you or her in a knife fight;........neither one of you has any "quit" in you.
I will tell you one thing though, whoever wins the election and becomes President, I will support them.

- Now - I shop at a consignment store (a bit high-end but I trade in a lot too) AND I have also been the same size 2 since I was sixteen and keep/maintain my clothes for many years.
We have finally reached a point of agreement here...
When people''s financial siuation changes, they change to adapt.
The same thing happens with a corporation. They are not going to keep paying his taxes in America just to be "patriotic". When the stockk holders start asking why the company is not making more money, someone has to answer that question. Then the end result is find a way to make that money, or its your job. That is the real world. I too have spent most of my career working for defense oriented companies. They are sometimes immune from this, because they are not selling to a mass market but rather a very unique one with a very unique set of rquirements for the products that request. and there are always security concerns about dealing with offshore operations. These are the kinds of issues that lead to a 20K radio instead of a $50 one from radio shack.
The point is most US companies move facilities and jobs offshore because its cheaper and better buisness. Nothin gmore or nothing less.
Obama even admits it himself, his wants to give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs here! WELL IF IT MAKES SENSE TO REWARD A COMPANY FOR STAYING HERE, WHY RAISE THE TAX IN THE FIRST PLACE??? - Reply to this comment
- I think we need to find a way to bring better jobs to more people. Nearly 40% of our people do not work!!! When we do work, we have built in all kinds of "kludges" for safety and environmental controls. Lets make the factories safe by design, not by repair. This will lower our costs but who will pay for that?
More but I am at word limits

- You do have to agree that this foolish court decision stating that park bench in OH is a viable address is just setting this whole thing up for a disaster of litegation.
Posted by Mike_C_NH at 04:02 PM : Oct 30, 2008
I''''ve not heard about ''''park benches'''' as viable addresses. I AM concerned, however, about people who have lost their homes losing their voting rights. Whether right or left, that seems to be a double-whammy. It just isn''''t right.

This is my last attempt to be civil with you. Your not subtle character assasinations (Cindy McCain, bible nuts etc) detract from the intelligent things you try to say.
You make a few points worthy of discussion.
1. Obama admitted he sat on a board with Ayers but he denied the obviously deeper awareness. Most of us believe Obama is very bright and seeks out differing views. But he minimizes this one to the point of lying about parts of it.
2. I also dont think its important that Obama attended a controversial dinner. But it would be nice to see who sat at tabel with him and what went on between them. Again, he hides it and that demeans him in my eyes.
3. He sat and listened to Rev Wright for 20 years. AND THEN DENIED HEARING HEIM.
It isnt about who he associates with now and then. Its about trust and truth. - Reply to this comment

- really don''''t know much about Barney Frank but I do think Sen. Chris Dodd should be voted out the next time his seat is up in MA... His claim that he did not know that he was getting a preferred mortgage rate from Washington Mutual is B/S.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by melnycgirl-1
1. if you dont know about Frank''s involvement, then why are going on & on posting about the mortgage meltdown.....he is a central figure in it.
2. Dodd is from CT...Frank is from MA....
You need to do some serious research here.
We do agree on Dodd. Both he and Frank need to be man enough to admit thier involvement and appologize to the country! - Reply to this comment

Hi mel,
Yes I have decided.......get ready to give me he*l......I think both of these candidates suck and I will give a protest vote to Nader.
By the way, are you related to Rowdy? I mean that as a complement; you both fight very well for your cause.
Keep up the good fight. - Reply to this comment
