Comments on: McCain Pledges Break With Bush On Economy
Republican Seeks To Prove He Is Different From President And From Obama
- Most people are sound asleep. The biggest redistribution of wealth will not happen when/if Obama raises tax rates. It has already happened! Any future tax rate increase will be peanuts compared to the money that I and you have already lost on the Wall Street in the last four months. This current financial crisis has happened under the republican watch (so much so that they were almost caught by surprize). Now they are blaming everyone from Carter to Clinton for this mess but they are not blaming themselves. It was Regan who somehow convinced every American that more wealth can be created using borrowed money and without hard work and sacrifices. Today whole of America is pay the price. And McCain is using the same tax-cut rhetoric to win yet another election. He will not succeed this time. Too many people have suffered too much to let that happen.

- NEEDERBAUR: Why do you keep repeating nonsense? To vote for McCain is self-destructive. He has again and again proven that he advocates wealth being distributed to the top 2% of Americans through tax laws engineered by Reagan and supported by Bush and McCain. In 1986 there were 13 American BILLIONairs in 2006 Americans had to have 1.35 Billion to get on the Forbes 400 Richest Americans List. Can you wrap your mind around how much money a Billion dollars is? USA is thick with Billionaires while middle America is going broke! Can you seriously continue to ignore that and convince yourself that Obama is your enemy? He''s trying to help you. He''s trying to repeal tax laws that favor the FILTHY RICH and allow the economy to work for the average American.
Beyond all the arguments, how do you believe McCain after he has lied so outrageously during his campaign? Because he''s white? Because he''s Episcopalian or un-baptized Baptist (he hasn''t decided which to stick to)? Because he fought in a war? What about this man inspires you to forfeit your future out of loyalty to McCain? - Reply to this comment

Don''t feel too threatened-the rich will keep getting richer, just not so blatantly and with less damage to your community in the process.

- John McCain assures his "friends" all across America that he is not in the pocket of George W. Bush. On just one issue I submit he is not only in Bush''s pocket, he booted a bunch of kids out of there in the process. I refer to his two votes to sustain the vetoes of SCHIPS by Bush. The result of his denial of SCHIPS and support of Bush has been that at least 2 million children are not covered by any form of medical care insurance WHILE their parents are. His actions have spoken so loudly we can no longer hear his promises.

- "I will create millions of jobs through tax cuts that spur economic growth," McCain said."
Trickle down advocates since Reagan have been telling that same lie for decades, it hasn''t worked yet.
"Break from Bush"? Right, in name only. - Reply to this comment
- Seriously? No really, seriously? McCain is going to break from Bush? After 8 years he chooses the week before the election to pledge his economic break from Bush? Oh and this from the guy who PROMISES THAT HE WILL "Veto every pork-barrel bill that crosses my desk! I will make them famous! You will know their names!" Not two weeks later he votes for a bailout package LOADED with pork! Pardon? Seriously?

- The only Break, McCain is sanctioning is the big corporate tax breaks to the wealthiest Fortune 500 companies; that''s why he is advised by their lobbyists.

- It would be a laugh if it were not so serious, some of the people here will be raising tomorrows minds. God help us all if we can''t get along and agree to disagree. I believe McCain is bad for the Presidency, he''s is an admirable senator but would make an untenable executive.

- If Obama wanted to emulate McCain''s attack ads, we would hear robocalls in the Heartland informing America''s patriots that McCain:
a) was in the pocket of former Lincoln Savings & Loan president and convicted criminal Charles Keating;
b) was buddies with fellow convicted criminal Republicans Ted Stevens, Tom Delay, Scooter Libby, Bob Allen, Trent Lott, Jack Abramoff, Don Young, Larry Craig, Randy %u201CDuke%u201D Cunningham, Tom Feeney, Alberto Gonzoles, Bob Ney, Rick Renzi, Richard Curtis, Steven Griles, Mark Foley...etc;
c) accepted political donations from the Watergate convicted criminal G. Gordon Liddy;
d) picked a runningmate mired in scandal (Troopergate) and has acted "unethical" according to her own people - - and doctored expense reports to bilk her taxpayers;
e) gave up information to his communist captors in North Vietnam, whereas other American prisoners did NOT;
You can%u2019t call yourself a patriot while voting for criminals. - Reply to this comment
- McCain''s past record shows that he is the lobbyist''s best friend, why else would they have helped Resurrect him from the dead? His campaign was tanking then all of the sudden it was flush with funds and he was able to continue campaigning. McCain will get the money flowing allright...right into the hands of corporate America. Big McCain said he''d stop all the porkbarrel buffets, he said he''d veto any bill packed with pork, and that we''d know the names of the people. Well that big corporate buyout/bailout/rescue bill he signed was loaded with pork. So when is big McCain going to give us his name????

- YOu people keep looking at McCain''s silly ideas and you keep missing the point. Independent economists have reviewed the so called McCain plan and it will add at least $5 Trillion to the national debt. And it will do nothing to stimulate the finances of the "middle class" you remember the "middle class", they are the ones who when faced with foreclosure were told by McCain to take a hike. Then all of the sudden when the cameras are rolling McCain is the middle classes best friend. McCain and Palin could care less about the middle class; they have their mouthes so tight around the assess of corporate America that they can taste their bile. McCain keeps spouting that Obama will tax, sure he will tax the upper rich those making well over $250,000 and I am sure none of the people blogging fall into that category. Wake the "F" up people!!!!

- McCain is going to drastically break with Bush by cutting all big oil and big Pharma taxes to zero?
Seriously. John used to stand up for things early in the Bush administration. But he moved closer to Bush the last 2 years in all things: tax cuts to the wealthy, torture, the works. What happened to this man? - Reply to this comment
