The issue is that Palin is trying to run as an everyday, ordinary, typical "hockey mom" that has to deal with everyday issues, like me and you have to deal with.

It''s hard to do that while living in a mansion, (and NOT the governor''s mansion), where all of the building materials were "donated", most of the labor was "donated", her net worth is $1.3 million, and she''s lived most of her adult life as a scheming politician, living off of the public''s dime.

I am guessing they had to release the info. Otherwise, you are right, why would they? I believe this shows their truthfulness related to their campain..Its like I said before, a vote for BO is like a kick in the jaw. You never saw it coming. Stay in your cloud of ingnorance. Ignorance is bliss.

No - they didn''t. The campaign''s funds, and the funds of the RNC, DO NOT have to be reported until AFTER the election.

They reported it strictly out of a lack of good judgment.

sassalin,

It''s the matter of pretending to be something you are not. It''s the matter of calling others elitists while you do elitist things.

For someone who thinks plumbers make $250K a year and middle class is $5M a year, $150K in one month on clothing is not a big deal. That''s why they were shocked with the reaction to it all. After all, they are just like you and me.

The real question is "WHY did the McCain campaign release the information of how much money was paid for Palin''''s clothes, when they didn''''t have to?"

It comes down to a question of judgment - and obviously McCain''''s whole campaign is SERIOUSLY lacking in good judgment.

In today''s society, we have over 1 million millionaires. Over half of those are self made millionaries and most are under 40, who made their money through hard work in their and investment in companies they work for.

These are the people that would be hurt the most by Obama''s plan. These are the business owners who know they can succeed because the tax plans favor their growth.

This just goes to show ya how pathetic the dems are. BO made 150 million last month and now are b!tching cuz she got some clothes. Yes, it was extravagant and probably a bad decision. But here in WI, you can watch BO 24/7 on his paid ad TV channel. That is sick. Its the same commercials running over and over and over. A vote for BO is like a kick in your jaw. You never saw it coming.

"Look, she lives a frugal life. She and her family are not wealthy. She and her family were thrust into this, and there was some - and some third of that money is given back, the rest will be donated to charity," he said.

Palin and her family are worth an estimated $1.3 million dollars, and McCain DOES NOT consider her wealthy?!?

The GOP''s response to every crisis is to give tax cuts to the wealthy. Exempt wealth and tax wages has long been the GOP''s battle cry and will not change with McCain. Since it has been so very successful at spreading the wealth to the top 1% of wealth holders, by all means let us continue to extend the Bush cuts, cut the capital gains rate, lower the corporate tax, find more oil, and by all means avoid "burdensome regulations." No More - Obama/Biden 08

McCain coauthored a bill making it illegal to use campaign funds for clothing expenditures for candidates called the McCain-Feingold bill. During Palin''s RNC speech one of her few moments of clarity was when she called for all Americans to live within their means in response to the financial crisis. This should apply to her as well. Flag Pin%u2026she courts the Alaska Independence Party and they court her. They say dam our flag, hate our government and want to secede from our country. Hypocrite.

savedgirl-I hear joe biden donated about $3000 to charity. How much did the messiah donate?? As for feeding the hungry, sure would be nice if the messiah sent his half brother george (his black half)some bucks and get him out of that hut.

If the philosophy of redistributing wealth is a concern to you and you want to know more about where Obama stands on this specific idea, here is a link to an interview with Obama while he was in the Illinois state legislature: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3p
