The quote, you are referencing probably originated during the primaries before Obama secured the nomination. After all, Hillary had a bunch of things to say as well and she is now campaigning for him.
Rather than rushing off to dig up fossils, I would hope that you look at each candidates position on the economy and decide, using facts.

The main reason for Obamas surge is the smear game is not working. McCain should have come up with an meaningful economic plan and stuck with it.
American are now seeing that McCain is offering smears and Obama is offering solutions. Obamas solutions might not be perfect, but at least he recognizes that America is heading in the wrong direction and wants to do something about. McCain would rather smear and the first step to solving a problem is recognizing that you have one.
If we elect the GOP they will use it a mandate to continue the same failed economic policy and we simply cannot afford that!

No one is talking about "equal pay" regarding inflation, the primary cause of inflation is the government printing more money. Does raising wages cause it sure, but not to the extent the government does.
The increasing worker productivity "fable" rings shallow as the American work force is one of the most productive and continues increasing productivity nearly each year.
"Trickle down" economics and it''s result is staring right in the face, as well as it''s "acceptable" national debt levels.
Obama is not tampering with the whole free enterprise system any more than Reagan or the Bush administration did.
Considering increasing or decreasing certain tax rates has gone on for decades. What they would like to see is a tax structure more in tune and at %''s similar to the Clinton years.- Reply to this comment
- My wife is a nurse practitioner working in the field of adult Psychiatry for over two decades. She sees no tell-tail signs of him losing his facilities. My father of 82 has started showing those signs, and believe me, they are pretty unmistakable once they truely manifest themselves.

With all due respect to your wife who is a psychiatric nurse that is very different to being a nurse with geriatric experience. I didn''t pick up on the subtle changes at first either. But once they were pointed out it was very clear that Mr. McCain''s mentation is not right; his querulous voice, his weird animosity to Mr. Obama during the 1st and 3rd debates (often those who are showing signs of dementia get angry for no reason), the unusal tics in his eye and face.. I could go on but it probably won''t change your mind.
On a private note: Your wife must be incredible to work as a psych nurse for so long. Nurses do the hardest work and get paid so much less. I have the utmost respect for nurses.
