- When the Democrats gain total control of the government they will push for legislation to make voters pass a test. Only people with a criminal record, that don''t pay taxes will be able to vote.

- The chief thing I don''t like about McCain, (among other things) us that he has divided this country MORE than Bush! He just keeps up the hate. He says he will work across the isle. I think that''s a lie, just like Bush said he was a "uniter". I don''t trust anything republican any more. Not at D.C. level, or local level.

- The only one who will harm the middle class is McCain! It was only recently he discovered we existed.

- Uh, John, you say you''re going to take of the middle class but you still haven''t said how.
And if you give tax cuts to the wealth they will take that money and create jobs. What stops them from taking that money and sticking it under their mattress? Or sticking it in an off shore account? - Reply to this comment
- McCain has become a desperate old man willing to say or do anything to become President. I wonder from which of his 7 houses he came up with the concept that Obama would be bad for the middle class. What a joke!

- McCain''s man, Phil Gramm coauthored the bill that DEREGULATED BANKS. The 1999 Gramm/Leahy/Bliley bill overturned protections from the Great Depression.
Phil Gramm DEREGULTED DERIVATIVES in the 2000 Commodities Modernization Act.
McCain has strongly advocated DEREGULATION of financial institutions. We already learned this lesson from the Great Depression, why do we think human nature is any different now? REGULATIONS PROTECT INDIVIDUALS FROM GREEDY POWER. - Reply to this comment
- McCain''s policies do not help the middle class. He favours the rich and favours the "trickle down effect". The current wave of globalisation has squeezed the middle class in the US with jobs going overseas. Tax changes are needed to respond to this reality. McCain doesnt understand this impact of globalisation. He is stuck in theory that is 30 years old.
Voting for McCain is like voting for Bush to have another 4 years in power.
Do you see Bush being able to solve anything? - Reply to this comment
- Does anyone know what would happen if John Sidney McCain died in his sleep before the election, or if he won the election, before he was sworn in as president?

- more cliches with no details or plans from McCain. "taking care of the working people" sounds good, until you look at his plans that do just the opposite.

- McCain had a highly regarded reputation as a reformer in the 2000 presidential election. I even voted for him in the primaries. But the party bosses had to get drunk and cozy with Dubya.
