anyone can opt to purchase the same plan provided for members of congress

Right like I believe that... If that is the case way would employers continue to provide health insurance when the employee can now get better coverage at a lower rate.

Trust me there will be a big difference in the type of coverage and care you get and a member of congress and if you don''''t understand that go ahead and vote for Obama..

Don''t be bitter because all your Republican candidates lied to you.

He stated he voted for the best bad plan not being able to win support for improving amendments -- with the lack of a Republican and more Democrats in Congress the desired improvements will be possible in January when he is elected.

Sorry but that doesn''''t quite cut it! ALL of the democraps were trying to STOP IT IN IT''''S TRACKS except Barak Oslima who even voted against debate over it!

Barak Oslima fully INTENDS to be able to spy on you like the good communist he is.

AND HIS ACTIONS have already proven it, because he wasn''''''''t willing to give up his ability to be able to spy on you any time he wants to...as witnessed in his support of the FISA bill.

But then you FOOLS, don''''''''t seem to understand that! And if you think he won''''''''t exercise executive privilege, you are even a bigger FOOL, because he''''''''s doing it RIGHT NOW!!!!

CORRECTION

He stated he voted for the best bad plan not being able to win support for improving amendments -- with the lack of a Republican President and more Democrats in Congress the desired improvements will be possible in January when he is elected.

Once possibly, twice is virtually unbelievable -- Bush has made wholesale replacements far too many times; there is little doubt the problem was with the Commander-in-Chief.

According to WHOM? YOU? When did you get the right to decide whether a president''''s actions in replacing personnel to accomplish his mission! Please pray tell....

Posted by FromTexwlove at 12:22 PM

Historical precedent -- something republicans consistently refuse to read or learn from.

What you FOOLS, don''''t seem to understand is that Americans who have NO EMPLOYER PROVIDED insurance get NOTHING under the Oslima plan and with John McCain''''s plan they get $2,500 for an individual and $5,000 for a family of four paid toward their insurance!

NOW IF YOU ARE SUCH A FOOL you can''''t see that, then I suppose you''''ll be voting for Oslima!

Posted by FromTexwlove at 12:13 PM

WRONG under Obama''s plan anyone can opt to purchase the same plan provided for members of congress at very large group rates, bigger than their employers group that could reduce the premium even more.

If that includes the public''''''''s invested assets that pretty much means he has a say in everything, salaries, golden parachutes, dividends -- how much more control is there?

Posted by misha128 at 11:18 AM : Oct 18, 2008

Nope, he has only voting privileges for issues that effect the public, they don''''t control, nor do they own anything but the mortgages they bought.

Posted by FromTexwlove at 12:14 PM

Then Bush is probably acting in defiance of the bailout law that requires investments be reasonably protected against taxpayer loss -- besides the fact that such actions would create considerable MORAL HAZARD and a backlash from a considerable number of Republicans. Bush is even more reckless than I thought if you are right.

The republican answer to everything when your hand picked team of experts disagree with you recruit a new team that agrees with you -- a total lack of integrity. Just like the firing of all the generals that disagreed with Bush -- McCain is just 4 more years of pompous arrogant leadership -- "My way or the Highway" - JUST LIKE BUSH.

Posted by misha128 at 11:22 AM : Oct 18

What YOU don''''''''t seem to understand was that he was the president, assigning the mission, and if that general wasn''''''''tcarrying out the mission, then he has a right to get one who will.

Posted by FromTexwlove at 12:15

AND you can bet your bottom dollar that Oslima will be doing the same damned thing! He''''s more of a control freak than even BUSH!

Posted by FromTexwlove at 12:17 PM

Obama''s campaign advisers and VP picks already show considerably greater acceptance of more diversity of thought that Bush ever tolerated. Your assertions are clearly not supported by the facts as they exist today or the actions Obama has taken over the last two years.

You have some real fools out there. Anyone who thinks that McCain''s $5,000 credit to get insurance is enough, they have another thing coming. Obama''s plan is the best, because you will have a higher quality of insurance. Supply and demand. Everyone should know that with Obama''s plan, there will be so many in the program that the costs will be much lower, allowing for you to receive better quality of care. With McCains plan, it will just be your lonesome self apply with a company, allowin for them to take all of your $5k then tell you when you complain, what did you expect to get with that measly $5k???

Sara Palin was a bad choice and a terrible role model. Her pregnant daughter is going to bring her double-wide and park it on the South Lawn. With his and her Trans Ams parked in front. Babies running around with pampers hanging half on and half off...

I can see into the future.

McCain is showing that he''s a McBush. I''m not getting a tax cut from McCain. Worse, with McCain in power, I''ll lose my health insurance, and have to pay about $ 700 to $ 900 a month for health insurance, which may not cover me when I get sick. If that is not an extra tax, what is.
McCain is making all this up because he doesn''t want to pay taxes.
Let''s look at his running mate''s record in Alaska. There the rich, namely the oil companies, pay a hefty tax. This revenue is distributed to the non-rich in Alaska in the form of a $2,000 rebate, plus $ 1,000 for fuel. This is the type of plan that Obama is promoting - only the upper 5 % pay more taxes.
I might point out that McCain has apparently never heard of Adam Smith, the founder of capitalism. Smith believed citizens should pay taxes as a badge of their freedom. He also believed the rich should pay more because society enabled them to prosper. He also favored programs that alleviated poverty because businesses will not survive if everyone is too broke to buy anything.
McCain is merely proving that he''s a McBush. For the last 8 years we have coddled the rich. They have rewarded us by creating a massive economic crisis. Now they expect us the taxpayers to bail them out. We need a drastic change - We need to elect Obama and his democratic allies.

No ma''''am, you are flat out lying. There will be a government member of a board that still operates the same as it always has as a private entity. The government board member will have voting privilege for issues that affect the public only.

but if you HAPPEN to qualify for maybe one of his tax credits you may see a reduction, but the truth is unless you qualify you will NOT be receiving a tax reducation at all.

Posted by FromTexwlove

I think everyone understands the difference between a tax rate cut and a tax credit. I think most aren''t worried about it, and I don''t understand why you''re making such a big deal out of it. Who cares how we pay less taxes, as long as we do? I also don''t understand how you have some special knowledge of who will qualify and who won''t. The plan states pretty plainly that most will.
