Both candidates need to remember we are a market based economy, and not a socialist command economy. Obama''s record is one of voting for tax hikes on a regular basis. The numbers in Obama''s current economic plan don''t add up; even worse, his plan will turn the U.S. into even more of a socialist system.
The ultimate question remains, "Who do you trust?" I trust McCain to protect Americans from the tax and spend Democrats on Capital Hill that got us into this mess.

Don''''t you know? $2 million outside the US is nothing. Did you know the cost of a Lexus in Singapore is almost a quarter of a million? an apartment in a high rise here will eat the rest of that, and you will still have to find a job so you could eat.

This is a gift from all the Republican presidents since Eisenhower, but also including Democrat Johnson, who because he was a Texan, was no different than a Republican.

It''s still pretty cheap in the Caribbean and Latin America. I could get by. After a good tan and brushing up on my Spanish and learning Portugese--I think I could do alright. I''m not greedy. 2 million McCain and I will pimp my vote. LOL

Cute, but be careful around glass houses and people.

Posted by misha128 at 04:09 PM : Oct 14, 2008

Like McCain (13 + houses) and Palin''''s with all that glass no wonder she can see Russia from her porch!

Posted by ozilot at 04:26 PM

Actually Russia can only be directly observed from a single Alaskan island -- and Gov Palin has reportedly never been to that island.

Having traveled broadly - including Europe - in my youth...trust me the U.S. on its worst day is still the best place to live!

Posted by ozilot at 04:30 PM : Oct 14, 2008

I''ve traveled a lot also--Though we have a way to go--we are deteriorating at an alarming rate. If the trajectory would stay the same as Bush has it--we could reach a 3rd world type of inflation and infrastructure deterioration within the next 7 years. That bridge in MN and the way Katrina handled was just a glimpse. Go into your local grocery (especially the Walmart) note how many empty shelves and rotting fruits and veggies still left there for people to buy.

This is essentially the CYA theory for Hannity and Limbaugh. After years of feeding hatred and division, it is easier--if they sense a loss on the horizon to already have the excuses in place about fraud and cheating than to say to their fan base "We suck as a party and that is why everyone voted for the other side" That is a hard thing to admit--especially difficult for a Republican.

Provided all voters can reasonably get an ID without charge there is very little complaint I know of == it''''''''s the unreasonable requirements or costs of getting ID that is the issue -- solve the cost issue and you probably have a winner.

Posted by misha128 at 04:11 PM : Oct 14, 2008

State IDs cost between 4 and 10.00. Barack Obama could donate that much to each state to pay for IDs--if getting them to the court house or DMV is a problem, they could have mobile units--the problem is, many people do not have access to their SS cards, birth cert or other id, often it is because records are lost, stolen or destroyed including court house fires--but even for them, something could be done to verify their citizenship and the fact of providing an id for them. (historical data like lots of relatives or ancestors buried somewhere) it could be done. I think Dems don''''t want it done--because they are padding the rolls and don''''t want that check in place.

Posted by harbinger09 at 04:25 PM

The bigger cost is that of a birth certificate which can be pricey and difficult for the homeless and others (elderly - some birth certificates just plain do not exist) to obtain. From what I understand any cost for a license/ID merely to vote is classed as a poll tax and is illegal. Waiving of the cost of acquiring a birth certificate or allowing electronic confirmation for an ID to vote is the biggest part of the cost issue I believe at this time.

go to
stealbackyourvote.com

There is a BIG difference between

registering or trying to register voters fraudulently (BTW it''s very difficult to prove any of those "people" actually voted),and

removing legitimate voters from the registry and preventing registered people from voting.

SOooooo, no matter how many ''''''''''''''''MICKEY MOUSES" are registered to vote, only the REAL Mickey Mouse will be allowed to vote...after showing his I.D.....

got it???

Posted by LIBslapper at 04:01 PM

That''''s right. And if the "real" Mickey mouse''''s SS# does not match with the same name, Mickey will be in a lot of trouble.

Posted by harbinger09 at 04:10 PM

Actually as noted above Mickey would not be on the valid voter rolls because he failed the federally required HAVA validation to be added to the voter rolls and would at best be able to vote a provisional ballot where his validity would have to be confirmed before it was counted. I''m not sure he would get into much trouble until possibly if he committed fraud in the process of completing a provisional ballot. Maybe if they could actually prove who completed the application. In the end without verification the ballot was not counted and therefore no erroneous vote. The system seems to be pretty robust as designed -- now I have some real concerns as to accuracy of the counting of valid ballots.

If you still support McCain after THIS slap in the face and we have thousands of troops dying. He has lost his D**** mind.

This will be making the news shortly.. stay tuned. huffington post.com

William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.

The two lobbyists who Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein''s government.

During the same period beginning in 1992, Timmons worked closely with the two lobbyists, Samir Vincent and Tongsun Park, on a previously unreported prospective deal with the Iraqis in which they hoped to be awarded a contract to purchase and resell Iraqi oil. Timmons, Vincent, and Park stood to share at least $45 million if the business deal went through.

MISHA....I have a cat named goofy...leave him OUT OF THIS!!!!!

However, He can be registered to vote in my state...and that is wrong.

AND THAT IS MY POINT...MY ONLY POINT...IT MUST STOP!!!

Posted by LIBslapper at 04:11 PM : Oct 14, 2008

Your cat may be able to be registered to vote--but if he shows up without ID a SS# and walking upright and looking like a human--he will not be allowed to vote--also, if he cannot speak human words--he will not be allowed to vote--it is not the registration, it is ACTING on that registration. YOur cat cannot act on it, neither can most other bogus registrants. Those that try will get caught esp since they have to put either their driver''s license, state id or SS# on the app and then they have to bring ID validating that info. If they bring false data--they get it for voter fraud, but also for ID theft, forgery, etc--it is a big deal.

"Never happen!" Posted by GetRealTex

The only way this is not a classic, textbook case of denial is if you are moving out after the elections, or planning to commit suicide on Jan. 4.

At any rate, you have revealed your true fear finally, so you can hang up the silly attempts to use false information, and irrelevant points to disguise your true self.

The light of the new day is on the horizon, so like Dracula, you probably should be looking for a dark place to hide.

Oh yeah, that''s right, you''re afraid of the dark.

Well I guess you are just SOL then...

That settled..WHY THE FK ARE DEMOCRATS SO AFRAID OF A VOTER I.D. LAW???!!!

WHY????

Posted by LIBslapper at 04:07 PM : Oct 14, 2008

I think because many of the people they try to get to vote are the kinds of people who shun the government and have no id--and may not even have or know their vital stats. I agree with you here--it has always been suspicious that the Dems will spend so much time getting people to the polls but they never spend their off time volunteering to get people some ID--I suspect fraud or cheating. It''s hard to prove--but frankly for something as serious as an election, there will never be a good argument for people not being able to identify who they are and being able to trace a specific vote back to them--this means the electronic voting machines are problems too--and the GOP has fought for years to not have a paper trail. I think both sides are engaged in fraud.

Yes...there are plenty of stories of DIMOCRATS picking up bums off the streets and taking them to the voting booth on election day, then castating them in the parking lot after they got what they wanted.

Republicans are working to supress the vote in all 50 states, and this court decision is only the beginning.

Does you cat have a SSN or a drivers license or State id -- if not the HAVA Validations (Federally required) will block his registration -- a form can be submitted but your cat will not be added to the voter roles.
