Where were you when the election was stolen by Diebold in 2004 ? Acorn is about voter registration (and McCaion was in favor before being against, as usual), Diebold is about counting votes ...

Obama supporters are not getting over-confident. Their campaign donations are still pouring out generously.

Just because a snake changed directions or fell asleep doesn''t mean it isn''t poisonous.

"DEREGULATION WAS THE CAUSE OF THIS MESS!"

You''ll be singing a different tune by 2012. 9 of the last 10 corrections in the stock market have been overcome by the market within the following 12mos. The 10th took 18-24mos. When left alone, the market restored the money invested by both big & small investors. If Sen. Obama gets elected, and tightens the regulatory mechanisms, monies that would have flowed back into U.S. markets will instead be invested where those regulations don''t exist: Overseas. Coupled with prohibative taxion rates (capital gains, etc...) investments, and some investors, will avoid the U.S. When the big investors move their money overseas, U.S. companies will have no money for expansion nor R&D. This will forstall the recovery, and maybe even snuff it out. That will hurt the average joe. Pres. Obama will spend 4 years blaming Pres. Bush, big investors, U.S. companies, and finally the American people. It''s ''76-''80 all over again: Jimmy Carter 2.0!

"The subprime part of their portfolio is a bitter pill for them to swallow. But they could probably have digested it without needing a bailout, if everything else was sailing along smoothly. That isn''t the case."

"The entire economy is in trouble. All segments are having a lot more trouble paying off their loans than they were just a year ago. The reason that subprime peaked before the rest is because the people who receive subprime loans are the poorest 40% of the population. They are the first to lose their jobs or be forced to take cuts in the hours that they work. They are hit harder by skyrocketing food and fuel prices. And they are hit harder by declining wages.

The bottom 40% of us only own 3% of the nation''s wealth, and the subprime loans that they take out are only 2% of the credit market. Meanwhile, they get to shoulder ALL of the blame. But don''t be fooled. When the bottom 40% of the population is in trouble, the rest of us will feel it in a matter of months. And we are beginning to, now. They are the blue-collar workers who staff everything from the stores and factories, to the restaurants and farms. If a big percentage of them suddenly lose their houses, there is usually an underlying reason; just saying that they were stupid and spent far beyond their means may sound great to some ultra-conservative crackpot like Rush Limbaugh, but the truth is that the underlying fundamentals of the market have changed for the worse. Much worse. "

Lola939,

I personally do not think life starts until birth, although I think in the last trimester there is the possibility for the baby to survive, so wouldn''t support abortions at that late state.

However, if you believe life begins at conception, then there is an easy thing for you to do...DON''T HAVE AN ABORTION!

It''s really that simple. Are you feeling somebody is forcing you to have an abortion?

Posted by whatithink10 If you force children to be born, you take on responsibilities. Responsibilities you do not want to take on. So, you sound like hypocrites.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you think that instead of being responsible, we should murder unborn children. Why stop there, lets murder all the drug addicts, Special needs people, criminals, and anyone else that we are responsible for. While were at it why not get rid of all the welfare people that we are responsible for.

Subprime is $1.2T market (2% of total market) and only 25% are in default...compared to 9% 10 years ago.

That''s $300B. That would have been manageable.

But, what the problem is is Credit Default Swaps. That''s $67T and it started because of a bill snuck in by then TEXASS Senator Phil Gramm.

GetRealTex,

That''s not the truth. The problem with the credit crisis is DERIVATIVES, not Subprime. All debt in America is having problems. The Subprime part peaked first, but that''s because we''ve pushed inflation onto American citizens and the poor always suffer the most with higher oil and food prices.

Get a clue.

2007 - President Bush vetoed the bill to expand coverage to more American children - TWICE

2008 - Unlimited funds available for rich bankers.

So much for caring aobut kids once they are here.

GOP needs to change its name to GOH.
