While Troopergate Report Said She Broke State Ethics Law, Alaska Gov. Says She's Been Cleared Of Wrongdoing
- ABMan827,
It just amazes me that some people let Bush lie to them to get into war (that''s been more destructive than any of the garbage being thrown around about Obama or Palin) and STILL vote for him a SECOND TIME are worried about what the media doesn''t do.
You don''t have any credibility. - Reply to this comment
- Since I do have a minor in political science, and a major in pre=law, I happen to KNOW that this is just the OPINION of a bunch of corrupt politicians paid off by Obama! And in fact this highly qualified investigator you are touting is a member of Obama''''s Alaska campaign!
And since it takes a judge or a jury of your peers to decide whether you committed illegal acts, these guys OPINION is hardly credible.

For a pre-law person an unsubstantiated claim of corruption of 14 politicians (that voted unanimously to release the report) and an independent prosecutor not to mention the others accused would appear to be an at best unwise action. - Reply to this comment
- People keep calling for the corporate pirates to be held accountable for the financial crisis. What about the politicians that enabled them? I don''''''''t care which party they are in, if they were involved out they go. To me it is the Medias responsibility to indentify those responsible and the voters task to hold them accountable for their action. If this was done more often we would not see these scandals reoccurring so frequently. Instead we spend our time and effort on Roger Ails and Troopergate.
Do you ever stop and question why?

Agreed nomav.....I wish the media would give us an unbiased view of Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin. We shouldn''t have to deal with an edited view of the situation. It is so hard to believe anything you hear, because its all biased. - Reply to this comment

Can you or did you read the troopergate report? The independent prosecutor found illegal conduct separate from the firing of Monegan. He even found the firing of Monegan was within the governor''''''''''''''''s powers.
Posted by misha128 at 01:38 PM : Oct 13, 2008
Sure I did. That report is just their OPINION! Nobody has proved up whether she abused anything or not!
Posted by GetRealTex at 01:40 PM : Oct 13, 2008
AND since it is their OPINION that she had the right to fire Monegan even if she didn''''t like the color of his socks because he was her appointee...
It kinda doesn''''t leave them with a leg to stand on, except contradicting their own OPINION!

Once again the top pf page 8 identifies the independent prosecutor''s findings of an infraction. Strange thing about prosecutor''s findings; they generally lead to prosecution when the conclusion is that a legal infraction has occurred. The bottom of page 5 and the top of page 6 indicate the statute and the penalties, if found guilty, for the Governor will include the loss of her office. - Reply to this comment

- Sarah Palin is probably the most honest person that has ran for public office. ...

An honest person that disagrees with an independent prosecutor''''''''s findings does not need to lie about the prosecutor findings to defend herself. The lie plainly discredits the previous assertion of honesty.
Posted by misha128 at 01:34 PM : Oct 13, 2008
I said compared to other politicians, she is honest. ALL POLITICIANS LIE and ABUSE THEIR POWER. And what she said after the prosecuter''''s findings was her opinion on it...and she does not think she did anything illegal. And if I was her, I would think the same thing. She was firing someone that was not doing their job, and she fired someone because they would not fire her abusive ex-brother-in-law. I don''''t blame her for that, and anyone in her situation probably would do the same thing.

Respectfully there was no "I think" or "statement of opinion" in her comments or the self-proclamation issued by the Governor and the campaign on Thursday. - Reply to this comment

I would consider the opinion of an experienced prosecutor very seriously; as this investigation was right in the heart of his former responsibilities and expertise. - Reply to this comment

- ''Despite the finding of a legislative report that she had broken the state''s ethics law in the scandal dubbed Troopergate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Saturday that the report actually cleared her of any "legal wrongdoing or unethical activity".''
Now let''s examine this. ''... she had broken the state''s ethics law ...'' but she''s been ''cleared'' of any ''legal wrongdoing or UNETHICAL activity''.

Sarah Palin is probably the most honest person that has ran for public office. All the negative things on her are far fetched and if you compared Palin to any politician she would considered an angel. If I was a Democrat I wouldn''t even bring Sarah Palin up...she is a breath of fresh air that we need in Washington. She might not be perfect, but guess what no one is. - Reply to this comment
- Bush should go down as the president who had the hardest 8 years in office. He had to deal with September 11th, he had to deal with Katrina, he had to deal with, the Iraq war, he had to deal with the Credit Crisis....Bush had a lot of negative things that happened during his 8 years of presidency. I respect Bush for all the hard decisions he had to make, right or wrong.
Everyone criticizes Bush, but not too many people give him credit for dealing with the cards he was dealt during his presidency. - Reply to this comment

- The majority of the panel were Republicans and she was all for this investigation in the beginning. If she gets so much relief out of the "lawful" portion of the report, how can she have the opposite response to the "unethical" portion? It makes her look extremely ignorant. And I really don''t think she is.

The best the Dimwitocrats can do is try to railroad Palin for protecting her abused sister from an abusive husband. If she were my sister getting fired would be the least of his problems. The Dingbatocrats are a joke.
The problem with that is there are other ways of doing it. You (like the others) want to believe every story they tell you not knowing for sure thats what happened. You don''''t know for sure. And if that was the case you Don''''T fire someone because he won''''t dod the firing. Thats where the abuse of power came in

Don''t all politicians, and anyone in power abuse their power. How can you call out Palin on this one. Even if she did do this and was unethical about it, you can understand where she is coming from. She is not giving her family high paying jobs where they are not qualified, she is not stealing tax payer dollars, she is not taking illegal donations to assist in others'' agendas. And if that is all you have on her on illegal activities that only makes me want to vote for Sarah Palin in November.- Reply to this comment
