Thank you for bringing up the letter that Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists association. That is the WHOLE POINT. That the whole concept of "separation of church and state" is derived and taken out of context by history revisionist liberals.

Separation of church and state IS NOT in the US Constitution.

The whole concept of it simply means that we won''t be governed by a SPECIFIC DENOMINATION, but it has nothing to do whatsoever with removing our Christian laws and principles that our country was founded upon.

Our fathers NEVER intended for that. And that''s why we''re in the mess right now, because liberal history revisionists have done everything they can to remove the Lord''s principles from our government. Now we''re seeing the result of their wishes. We''ve slowly drifted towards chaos and disorder in our country...including the current economic mess.

If you throw God out (as our founding fathers warned) then you can''t expect a country to continue to prosper.

Because all good things come from the Lord, not from the government.

God grants freedom, NOT the government, and our founding fathers KNEW THIS and DID NOT take it for granted.

See, your ignorance of the Muslim faith has blinded your reasoning. When a Muslim says they are not Muslim, they are denouncing their faith. It can not be a lie for when they denounce their faith that''s it.
--------------

"If Obama were truly a Christian, MUSLIMS WOULDN''''T BE RALLYING FOR HIM TO WIN! It''''s that simple, because their QURAN FORBIDS them from befriending Christians and Jews. It''''s RIGHT IN THEIR "holy" BOOK"

WRONG! Show me which Muslim is rallying for him? Farrakhan? You really believe that Farrakhan still votes? So, how do you know that Farrakhan did "meant it" when he sid Obama was "the messiah"? You can read Farrakhan''s heart?

So after all these "Christian"-Holier-Than_Thou talk you are nothing but a person who would see the bad in others. I bet Jesus is so proud of you!

I was amazed at how many people in Alaska really dislike her and think she is unqualified to be VP and scary to think of her as president.
posted by maggietexas4

-uhhuh maggie, guess that''s why her approval rating in Alaska was at 86% as Governor.

Lying about her character is about as lowlife as it gets. And that''s what liberals like yourself have to resort to, disgusting lies and slander in order to push your agenda.

Meanwhile the rest of us will stick to the facts about a person''s character and judgment when making our decision to vote.

part 2
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of the government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ''make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,'' thus building a wall of separation between church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore man to all of his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

Jefferson realized that a full separation of church and state did not exist yet, but he hoped that society would make progress towards that goal. Was this just a political ploy, however? It certainly can''t be considered an off-hand comment, because Jefferson had it reviewed by Levi Lincoln, his attorney general, before he sent it. Jefferson is recorded as having told Lincoln that he considered this letter to be a means of "sowing useful truths and principles among the people, which might germinate and become rooted among their political tenets."

Your so found of writtings by our founding fathers that you think support your point of view, hers one that doesn''t support your views. This paert of a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Church which was under attack by the Connecticut State sponsered religon(which was found to be unconstitutional)
part 1
"Although the idea of a "wall of separation" originated with Roger Williams and not Thomas Jefferson, it is Jefferson''s phrasing which has been most used by judges, lawyers and politicians when it comes to interpreting the First Amendment. This is unsurprising because of Jefferson''s role in the development of our nation and our political system.

The phrase itself stems from a letter which Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Church in Connecticut. Jefferson was president at the time and the Danbury Baptist Association had written to him on October 7, 1801, expressing their concern about their religious freedoms. At the time, they were being persecuted because they did not belong to the Congregationalist establishment in Connecticut. Jefferson responded to reassure them that he also believed in religious liberty and said, in part:

I have been online reading the Anchorage Daily News. I was amazed at how many people in Alaska really dislike her and think she is unqualified to be VP and scary to think of her as president. I thought all the dislike of Palin was down here in the lower 48. Not so. She won''t be re-elected governor in Alaska. Back in 2000, I was on the internet telling people how awful Bush was. People on the internet would say "you aren''t really from Texas; you are lying." Well, I wasn''t lying. Many Texans knew Bush would be a terrible president. We need to listen to these Alaska people when they tell us what a ruthless unqualified hillbilly Palin is. Texas is about to take Bush back. I know all of you will be happy. Let''s also send Palin back to Alaska and let them deal with her. I have a feeling she''ll never get elected again to anything.

Try reading again RedFromLA, or are you going to continue to lie and make false accusations about people you don''t know?:

What we need is a Christian nation - the only alternative is a pagan nation. By "Christian nation," I don''''t mean that everyone is forced to be a Christian or forced to go to church or to believe in God. People are free to be Buddhists or atheists. The job of government is not to convert or force conversion to any kind of faith. The job of the government is to do for the people what they can''''t do for themselves. And the job of bringing people to faith belongs to the private citizens, the churches, the synagogues and the religious leaders of our nation. That separation should always be kept. What I mean by a Christian nation is a nation whose laws are self-consciously built on the laws and principles of the Bible.

I''''m wondering why you rely more on the Old Testament which has been already fulfilled in Jesus Christ. How come you rarely live out the New Testament? Love your enemies too difficult for you to do?

I see you''re making false allegations towards me since you''ve lost your argument. This is a typical tactic among Obama''s supporters. Heck Obama uses this tactic himself.

I''m sorry the facts disturb you about Obama, and that you have to resort to baseless, false, childish accusations towards me, a person you don''t even know, in order to push your agenda.

That is evil, and it is twisted and demented, and I don''t really care if this hurts your feelings.

But saying a person saying he is not a Muslim DOES MAKE IT SO
posted by RedFromLA

-No, it does not make it so. People do lie. Unless of course you think Barak Obama is incapable of lying.

If you think Obama is a man of integrity, check out the company he''s kept for the past 20 years. You are known by the company you keep, and his company has been nothing but anti-Israel, anti-Jew, anti-white, you name it.

It''s not a coincidence that Louis Farakan called Obama the "Messiah" (and he meant it!) and that Obama''s church gave Farakan a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by Jeremiah Wright himself.

Obama''s church is vehemently against the Jewish state of Israel. This is the same belief that Muslim fundamentalists share. His church gives lifetime achievement awards to Jew haters like Farakan.

Muslims hate Jews. Their Quran instructs them to do so. There is also a anti-Israel former PLO member that is now a professor who had a fund-raiser for Obama, and Muslims around the globe including TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS like HAMAS have voiced their support for Obama. These are ALL verifiable facts.

So if you can''t add all these things up, and you can''t put 2 and 2 together, then there is truly no hope for you.

If Obama were truly a Christian, MUSLIMS WOULDN''T BE RALLYING FOR HIM TO WIN! It''s that simple, because their QURAN FORBIDS them from befriending Christians and Jews. It''s RIGHT IN THEIR "holy" BOOK.

These are the only operative words tied to abuse of power and misuse of tax payer dollars:
What Palin didn''t tell worshippers gathered at the Wasilla Assembly of God church in her hometown was that her appearance that day came courtesy of Alaskan taxpayers, who picked up the $639.50 tab for her airplane tickets and per diem fees.

We have allowed organizations like the ACLU to strip away every vestige of our Christian heritage for long enough. We are tired of them destroying our country by declaring God unconstitutional. Our nation was founded on the principles laid out by the God of the Bible and we''re saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Where there is no foundation, there are no laws and what results is anarchy brought forth by moral relativism. Their way has failed. The time has come for us to take back that which once was and let the healing begin.

Restoring America
The future of America will either be a national revival or it''s total destruction. We''re on the edge now of real national self-destruction. The past few generations of Americans have witnessed the collapse of moral and ethical values unlike any time in our history. We''re looking at the very strong probability of economic collapse, unless there is a tremendous change. We''re going to spend ourselves, tax ourselves into total oblivion.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7:14]

The essence of what God is requiring of the Christians in America is repentance. If we Christians think that simply by political involvement we''re going to turn the country around, we''re crazy. If we think that we can adopt an antagonistic triumphalism that says we''re going to get organized and throw all the bad guys out and take over, we will be brought face to face with our own sinfulness.

We must recover the original American vision and we must put into practice 2 Chronicles 7:14. Our First Continental Congress understood this concept as is evident in the words of John Jay.

Who''''s the racist? You keep calling him a Muslim, he''''s NOT. Thats Proven and yet you still can not get that wright.

-How is it "proven" that he is not a Muslim? Because he "says so"? Do you know what''s in Obama''s heart?

Just because someone claims to be a Christian does not make it so.

It''s a matter of the heart. Do you think the heart of Christ would kill babies in the womb like OBama supports, called "abortion" to be politically correct instead of calling it what it really is, murder?

The Supreme Court, the President, or Congress do not shoulder the entire blame for these profound changes in the American cultural fabric. Far from it. Indeed, past generations of Christians and other religionists who were not involved in society or who sat silently by as the culture embraced the secular worldview are also greatly responsible.

And how have the activist christians/conservatives improved the "cultural fabric"? Be specific.

Whats with Republicans?
They change the bible to make it more suitable for
republicans.
They change the bill of right and the Conststution to make it more suitable for them to lie and stealing and them performing corruption and every other immoral indecent act in the name of winning a election.
"They shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter"
