I think that is the way it is here. I''ve never known anyone that has done that, so I don''t really know how it works.

Me neither. :) I just show up on the day, run in, mark my X, and that''s it! I know that''s bad. I should pay more attention. - Reply to this comment

Maybe that''s what I should do. Although I thought that not everybody could do that. - Reply to this comment
- Obama supporters, Democrats, are such zealots. Not very smart either. This story cites election officials, not Repubs, yet we get these comments:
In 31 days we will take the White House, the Senate, and the House. We will throw the neoCon Fascists out in the street.
I can''''t wait.

The fact that he had to TAKE OFF ONE TO PUT ON THE OTHER says worlds about the Republican mind-set. We are all losing our rights, and our minds. It is becoming obvious that there is no depth they will not stoop to. That includes manipulating the vote in any way necessary. Higher and deeper!

The Republicans will be put to the street just like they bankrupted the middle class. Vote them all out.

- I understand the attempt to not have voters intimidated by people who come at you with their literature and such at the polls. I''ve seen that. I''ve seen people handing out ''sample ballots'' to ''help you learn how to vote'' with only thier candidate''s name on them. But, to tell Americans they cannot wear certain attire to the polls, as long as they are in no way otherwise influencing voters, is ridiculous. Are there any laws against wearing a bikini to the elections?

- Painless, easy process.
But, that''''s not the case in some urban districts.

It''s an old tradition k9home2000, an old tradition. Remember when they used to ask black Americans "How high is high?" back when before the Civil Rights movement to prevent them from voting because they didn''t get the answer right?
To the GOP it''s all a joke, a big freaking joke. And that''s why to this day we still have an issue with who can vote and who can''t, and why the US is imploding and self-destructing itself.
To the GOP the only thing that matters is power for the sake of it because if you complain about it, if you resent it, to them is an affirmation of how "anti-American" you are.
Forget about the Constitution, forget about common sense, forget about national solidarity, because it''s all about them and their feelings.
Roght now the entire continent of Europe are outraged at the Republicans'' behavior on the economic catastrophe the US is going through. And what''s the Republican reaction to it? "Oh, well, Europe is a whole different culture."
And that''s how they pretty much view the entire world including their fellow Americans: We''re all from a different planet.
Yeah, the Republicans, so American, so mainstream, so freaking "Joe six pack", and all the rest so weird and so clueless.
What a bunch of b.astards, I swear. - Reply to this comment

- "People claim that I am acquainted with Barack Hussein Obama, so what of it? We are collaborators in 95, So what that I was a terrorist in the 70''''''''s that even now I wish we had done more bombings, so what of it. People know I am close to Obama, so what of it? People know I help Obama get started as a Democrat government politician so what of it? You mean to tell me that its not possible that a terrorist sympathizer can run for president, so what of it? Are you going to tell me that a man named Barack Hussein Obama cannot learn from an unrepentant terrorist like me in our friendship one to another?
Im Barack Hussein Obama, and I am known by a lot of Muslims and I approved this message."-- Posted by LOOK___
Glad you brought that up.
First off you cannot connect Bill Ayers to Muslims. There''s no connection.
Second, many Americans regard Bill Ayers as a hero and a patriot for the extreme form of protest he used (which was bombing government property).
Many people don''t realize that the civilian body count (That is non Weather Underground members) was zero- because Ayers and his group used to call ahead to make sure there was no chance of *people* getting killed.
The only people killed in the Weather Underground bombings, were Weather Underground members who screwed up while building a bomb.
A zero body count terrorist? I dunno- sounds more like the Boston Tea Party to me. - Reply to this comment

Generally speaking, you cannot campaign, including posting signs or wearing campaign materials (clothing, etc) within 500 feet of a polling station regardless who owns the property.
You cannot ''hang out'' outside a polling place wearing a t-shirt, hat, button, etc.
etc etc

I describe the Law in Florida where I WAS the guy outside a Polling Precinct for many years - The Poll Deputy.
No problems at all, none.
Again, is probably due to Leon County Election Supervisor Ion Sancho.
Sancho has gone International to consultant emerging Democracies who discovered the excellent job he did following problems in rest of Florida in 2000.
Research Ion Sancho via wiki/google - he knows how to run an Election - Fair and Square.
No idea about the Laws in your State. Your milage may vary.

Would you change your vote just because someone else was wearing a shirt or button as they voted? Are you that easily influenced?
Posted by TallyMan2008
No, but there are a lot of other people out there that have no ''common sense'' and are easily influenced.

Maybe, but cuts both ways - influence could be ''good'' or ''bad''

- First off, the federal government delcares that a student is dependent unless they are 24 years old, married, have dependent children, are a military veteran or are now active military personnel. So, I don''t think a threat to the parents or the student has legal standing. Go ahead, mess with the IRS polling volunteers. Another thing, I thought the Republican party wanted less gov''t interference. Oh right, unless they can use it to their advantage. What clothing anyone chooses to wear when they cast their vote is of no consequence. Polling volunteers have no authority to even debate this issue. Believe me, the police would be there to escort me in if I wanted to wear an Obama shirt or anything else I wanted. Last point, so you lose your house, since when does owing a home qualify you to vote or not?? Oh yes, the blacks might remember the property rules from bad days long gone.

- Surely you can''t call anything a honest election since 1996. Those days are long gone. With the help of managed media the neocons will rule forever.

- It''s interesting how the Supreme Court rules that giving money for favors from politicians---known as bribery to the citizenry, rephrased contributions by the wealthy---is deemed legitimate political expression and allowed!
And putting on a t-shirt that supports a candidate is trying to be made illegitimate political expression and NOT allowed---at least in PA!
What''s the difference? The wealthy are being allowed to influence the system and the less wealthy are being suppressed from doing so!
Regardless, it''s clear RethugliCONs are devoted to suppressing and revoking the publics'' legal right to vote on whatever reason they can dredge up on the moment! Pathetic! Way to go GOP! - Reply to this comment
- To all CLOWNS posting on this thread (me too!) Get a freaking life. What a bunch of loons - left and right. You conspiracy nuts need to make new foil hats, the control waves are obviously getting through to your brains...Oh...assuming you have brains. IF your vote can be swayed by clothing at the polls, do yourselves a favor and just stay home. It is pretty clear that if you are that weak-minded, your vote probably wouldn''t count anyway, if you could figure out how to work the machine. If you do vote this fall, fire ''em all.
