She should be proud

Nothing like politicians fighting over the bodies of dead sons while the mother proudly watches.

I don''t understand the republicans - now that your story is a pure b.s., blame the mother? Have you no shame, sir?

She should be proud. McCain Tried pulling the mother of a soldier heart strings in his direction, and her son allowed Obama to blow it straight up his *** the other way.

I am now selling rubber bracelets with pollitical crib sheets on them. For 19.95 you can get names, dates, statistics and even foreighn dignitaries names put on them. Then when your asked a difficult question just roll up the sleaves and let your opponent have it. Maybe I will sell writbands like quartebacks wear?

"...Obama has been critized because he had to read the name off of the bracelet during the debate..."

aljack3, the fact that he had to read the name (and he did, I saw him do it during the debate) is even a greater honor - because it shows that he DIDN''T PLAN on mentioning the bracelet. If he didn''t plan on mentioning the bracelet, yet he still had it on him, what does that say? It says that he has been wearing it so regularly that he has almost forgotten he has it on.
By contrast McCain obviously planned his bracelet moment and rehearsed it, and in looking at his wrists during the debate, I am not sure he even had it on at all - he certainly didn''t look at it like most normal people would have.

"...If there is no bailout, the credit crunch will be so big, you better have cash on hand to buy your next car our house..."

john43218, I have bought all my cars with cash. It''s not a big deal, you just buy a used car. Ask any wrecker, they sell lots of used cars to auctions that are brought in, yet run fine. There''s a glut of used cars on the market that either run fine or need just a few hundred dollars of work to get running.

As for buying a house, listen sport, the bank doesn''t get a cent of any equity you make due to home prices increasing in the market. All they care about is you have good credit and show ability to pay. And the more that home prices fall, the more likely the banks will loan money on them since the lower prices make it easier to repay the home loan by the borrower. So this talk of banks not making home loans is a joke. All that will happen is the banks won''t make home loans anymore for people buying second homes for investments, or for homes that are beyond their means to pay for, or for trashed homes that people want to buy and fix up, or for people with trashed credit. And there''s good reasons that people engaging in those behaviours should be using their own money, and it is high time that a trashed credit history actually hurt the person with it.

I have a bracelet. Ooh, I have a bracelet too. But I got mine first. Copycat... Come on people, grow up. If you think these people are going to result in change, we are in trouble. Take care of yourselves and make more informed choices when voting on local government officials if you want to make a difference. Washington can''t save us righ now.

".... Now that it is said and done the mother is saying that it is alright because she is a democrat. The father who is a McCain supporter has asked that he not do it again...."

redbds, the father isn''t married to the mother anymore. For him to think that his wishes regarding the bracelet should carry the slightest amount of weight with his ex-wife is the ultimate in a s s h o l i s h n e s s. No wonder she divorced his sorry a s s. He lost any right to tell anyone how to deal with his wife when he divorced her.

You probably are one of those wack jobs who''s ex-wife has a restraining order against your stalking.

I''m still suffering a loss from the Viet Nam War. I am sorry for everyone''s losses in this fabricated war based upon "weapons of mass destruction" that don''t exist. It''s all about greed. A horrible shame that lives have been lost so others could stuff their pockets. Abolish war and fight with kindness and understanding and respect for others. Bring Obama to fulfill the American Dream and let him clean up the mess of the last 8 years.

Apparently, English must be a second language for thestkhse:

Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama''s mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier''s mother gave him a bracelet.

Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son''s Bracelet

Barack Hussein Obama was told not to wear this bracelet, read the transcript posted to the link below. Barack Hussein Obama is doing what he does best, being a chameleon and hiding his true colors. Barack Hussein Obama is a socialist and he will ruin this country. Don''t believe what I write then open your eyes and read all about his ideals, what he voted for and what he want to do to the american people. More taxes & More government

Obama has been critized because he had to read the name off of the bracelet during the debate a detail missing from your account of the exchange.

In fact, that mother ought to be ASHAMED of herself for this proclaimation!!! Because of her support for Obama, her son has now died in vain!!!

In reality (I know, I know... you guys hate reality), Bush killed her son and you abetted by supporting him.

Obama said during the debate. "She asked me, ''''Can you please make sure another mother is not going through what I''''m going through?'''' No U.S. soldier ever dies in vain because they''''re carrying out the missions of their commander in chief. And we honor all the service that they''''ve provided."

For a great speaker, he is pretty unclear. Does this mean he isn''''t going to have any soldiers die while he is president, or that mothers should be happy because they died following his orders. Either way, I don''''t think it is going to work out that way.

It was a necessary but not great reply to McCain''s repeated, stupid, outrageous position that we can''t ever stop fighting, no matter how inappropriate the war, because then all previous deaths will be in vain.

It was also a necessary reply to all the lies that Obama hates the troops.

Obama learned from the Kerry defeat that even the worst attacks must be answered.

So the mother asks Barack not to mention her son anymore, but he does it anyway? Even if she reversed herself afterwards, isn''''t it illuminating about Obama that he would use the name when he was asked not to? Kind of shows what kind of person he is, he will do anything to win.

And you think that he should say nothing after McCain is so obviously willing to use veterans for his own self-serving purposes?

She was fine with it. Let it go.

Since Senator McCain was the 1st to mention it bracelets the debates, I can''t understand how Senator Obama can be criticized because he mentioned one as well.

Don''t worry about criticism of McCain for his bracelet. It''probably just another of his never ending lies.

I find it interesting that Obama values our American Soldiers lives, particularly because of the lack of value he places on the lives of babies in the state of Illinois.
