First Presidential Debate Revealed Some New Dynamics With Familiar Results, Writes Vaughn Ververs
- In time of adversity, America needs to work together to solve problems and overcome crisis - and who better than McCain who has a PROVEN RECORD of working cross-party lines and with everyone for the good of ALL AMERICANS.
Obama is still in that boyish "political-party-mode" where one can only support one group of electorates (a little bit like supporting his basket ball team only) But politics and being President requires someone who can work and lead ALL AMERICANS as one BIG NATION.
That''s John McCain. - Reply to this comment
- Obviously, she''''s terrifyingly unqualified and the McCain camp knows it. What other antics will they pull out of their sleeves to change the subject from that disaster- in waiting? It''''s not going to be pretty.

Exactly. McCain''s foolish choice of Sarah Palin, AKA Barbie, will be his undoing. I still predict he will drop her from the ticket, in one of the biggest flip-flops of all time ... then pick an experienced, ready-to-lead VP candidate. - Reply to this comment
- I thought McCain looked solid and Presidential. He just knows what''s going on in the world and what to do. That doesn''t mean Obama is not intelligent and articulate (because he is), it just means that John McCain''s years and years of experience and his first-hand knowledge of the military position him as someone the troops can trust and the country can rely on. McCain loves his country too much to watch it sink. This man is committed 150 percent to the USA and I know he will NEVER allow financial or military distress. I see him as the USA''s guardian.

- Edge Obama. He''s ahead and tonight helped, not hurt him. Viscerally, McCain''s performance felt too hot-headed when people need steadiness. And the Palin factor is just beginning to crack open. Obviously, she''s terrifyingly unqualified and the McCain camp knows it. What other antics will they pull out of their sleeves to change the subject from that disaster- in waiting? It''s not going to be pretty.

That''s funny :)
I''ve been wondering for a couple of weeks now what the polls would show if they asked people who they''d pick if Hillary were to run as an Independent.
I feel like maybe she could win because the Clintons have always billed themselves as a ''two-fer'' . . . there''s something VERY reassuring about having Bill as part of the package.
I would vote for her in a heartbeat!
Clinton/Clarke (as in Wesley) + Bill = magic! - Reply to this comment
- I was surprised how the debate''s undertone was stability/experience vs. change/vision. It was a bit like watching my father and brother go at it. How does someone choose between his Dad (who has simply lived life longer and tends to be wiser) or his brother (who is his peer and wants an America for his generation too!)? I kind of wished "Mom" (aka Hillary) jumped in during the debate and declared that the world needs both stability and change!!

- Nobody''s mind will be changed by this debate. McCain needs to change some soon before time runs out.
