Let get punished for being successful, yeah....
Biden "paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans"

- It is not the responsibility of hard working people to support crack heads and other low lifes who don''''t want to work, and want to just lay around in a project house getting paid for every child they have.

Hey Bone-Head. Biden said the Rich should consider paying more taxes, Patriotic! Not the middle class should pay more to support Lazy Crack-Heads.

Mr. Biden rather tha distorting thre truth about Democrats tax plain ,tells you ,if make more than 250 grand a yr. you are going to pay more in taxes and its the patriotic thing to do. Seems pretty clear to me and easy to understand . I looked for the quotes where he said if you made less than 250 grand a yr. you weren''t a patriot ,I didn''t see it. The majority of Americans probably don''t make a 100 grand a yr.They are the ones struggling and could use the tax breaks ,which is who the democratic plan targets for tax breaks , seem good to me. - Reply to this comment

Allen Greenspan on Sunday said we have never seen one like this or as severe and it is uncharted waters.and I think he is pretty informed , wrong on policy by his support of deregulated markets , but pretty savvy on actual market conditions. Look at the business pages as well , you think McCain is going to pull some miraculous answer out of his behind? His chief economic adviser was Phil Gramm who slipped in much of the legislation responsible for much of this debacle.Google the Gramm Leach Bliely act of 1999. Mccain on Monday was still saying the fundamentals of the economy were still strong , his advisers realizing it sounded like he was on crack tried to spin it he meant American workers were still strong . My point being its a mess and no one is sure of where its going . - Reply to this comment

well in the first place if you make more than 250 grand a year and can''t take it if your taxes go up a litle bit let regular middle class Americans know that so they can feel your pain . second i would suggest you go to the Washington post and look at the actual comparison of the two tax plans side by side done by a neutral party and actually compare plans . third we are fighting a 10 billion dollar a month war on credit and you feel making our grand kids pay for it is patriotic? wow interesting take on it there . - Reply to this comment

- Our economy, based on captilism principles is the means by which most wealthy Americans have been able to aquire their money. Another principle rooted in most every religion or spiritual doctrine tells us to give back to where we recieved our good. there is no reasonble explanation for individual to whine about paying taxes, retuning to the system that allows for great amounts of wealth to be aquired. So-SHUT UP, write the check and drink another glass of $500/bottle of wine.

- We cannot afford to not vote for Obama o8--We have to Vote Obama.
From NBC''s Mark Murray
In an interview with the Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska
Sen. Chuck Hagel (R) suggested that Palin doesn''t have the foreign-policy experience to be president. "''She doesn''t have any foreign policy credentials,'' Hagel said in an interview. ''You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don''t know what you can say. You can''t say anything.''"
Check out this other Hagel line: "''I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, "I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,"'' he said. ''That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.''"
And this one: "''I think it''s a stretch to, in any way, to say that she''s got the experience to be president of the United States,'' Hagel said." - Reply to this comment
- "Of course, we wouldn''''t really have a surplus. And neither did Clinton. It''''s just a matter of saying that some expenses don''''t "count" against the national debt even though they do.

I beg to differ. Clinton admin. did not do this figures manipulation. Economy was sound, we were paying more taxes & so are businesses. Gas was only 94 cents. In spite more tax rate even on people who are making 250k or more people have more many as they were paying less for health insurance, gas and food and services. . My salary stagnant since 8 years. Taking inflation into account our net income is less than what it was 8 years ago. Am I better off 8 years ago than now, yes I am. - Reply to this comment

Keep trying .....
Some people will claim that there was a surplus but the national debt didn''t go down because of interest payments on the existing debt, or because of "off-budget" items. This is one of the silliest responses that can be made to this article--anyone who proffers this response to the reality that there was never a surplus is just buying into silly Washington accounting games that are convenient for their argument.
The reality is that "off-budget" items and interest payments on the debt are real government expenditures just like any other. Off-budget items are declared as such by the stroke of a pen specifically for political reasons but it does not change the fact that they are part of government expenses.
To see the folly of this argument, consider this: We have a budget surplus right now, too, if we declare the department of Health and Human Services to be "off-budget." After all, Congress and the president can do that with the stroke of a pen. Presto, we now have a surplus!
Of course, we wouldn''t really have a surplus. And neither did Clinton. It''s just a matter of saying that some expenses don''t "count" against the national debt even though they do. - Reply to this comment

This guy doesn''t smear anybody in his article. Like I said, if you want to believe there was a budget surplus, go ahead. But the fact that the deficit went up EVERY year under Clinton says that''s bs. - Reply to this comment

That''s exactly what''s wrong with this country. People think that borrowing $10,000 from their credit card and putting it in their checking account means they have more money. Morons.

That they should "GO SHOPPING" to prove their PATRIOTISM????

If not the Federal Government (collectively) responsibility, then who or whom? Give me an example where it works without some Federal Law.

Have you taken a look lately at the network of federal and state programs designed to protect people who live in America (not necessarily Americans), from suffering. It''s massive. We''d be better off just giving everyone in the country a big fat check. But then the irresponsible would blow it on a big screen TV and tatoo and the responsible would still have to pay for them. - Reply to this comment
