Aides Say N.Y. Senator Was Blindsided By Anti-Iran Rally's Invitation To GOP VP Nominee

- McCain/Palin = Unstable/Unable
Palin is the least qualified Candidate in history , and it speaks volumes about McCains judgment. If this ticket was to some how lie, cheat, and steal there way into the White House , we will all be standing in soup lines , as our kids are being drafted. - Reply to this comment
- It really does not matter what Palin looks like.
Fact is, she is a habitual liar.
The Republican Party is not doing anything about it, and in fact attempts to spin and obscure her lies, so I can only conclude that the Republican Party is attempting to convince America that lying is OK.
People with kids should be angry, if nobody else is smart enough to be.
Fat lot of good it does you to tell your kids not to lie only to hear them say:
"But that lady on TV lies all the time!!! And she might be Vice President and maybe even President someday!!!".

For the habitual liar that you describe, it is remarkable that Palin has an 80% approval rating by the voters of her state. But I guess you will continue to believe what you want even though it is based on innuendo, exxageration, untruths, and attacks by her opponents. Sadly, politics is a dirty game. - Reply to this comment
- Ah geez, by all means, the American people need to vote for her and McCain, so your sister can see the first woman VP. Never mind whether she''''s qualified or not.

It is obvious that you don''t feel Palin is qualified. Is it that or you just don''t like her views or the views of the Republican party. It is equally obvious that some people feel Palin is qualified and like the views of the Republican party. Let us be honest. If you don''t agree with Palin, why not argue that she isn''t qualified. It appears that fault can be found with any of the candidates as to whether they are qualified. Just look at some of the arguments. Biden is a plagerist. Obama has only been a senator for a few years. Palin has only been a governor for a couple of years. McCain has spent his whole life as either a soldier or in Congress. So who is really most qualified? Get the Drift? - Reply to this comment

- If she is afraid to be at the same event as Palin, perhaps it is just as well that she lost in the primaries.

Huh ? If anything, Hillary is "afraid" she might be seen as lending some of her considerable credibility to Palin. It might appear as something of an endorsement of Palin for Hillary to appear on the same stage as Palin. Hillary did the right thing! - Reply to this comment
- Many of the posters were making fun of the looks and age differences between Hillary and Palin.

I think you have misinterpreted. More likely they were making fun of CBS for such an obviously biased choice of photos. Such choices don''t happen by accident. They are meant to make Palin look "better" than Hillary, even though it''s obvious to anyone with a brain that Palin is a far, far weaker candidate than Hillary. - Reply to this comment
- Well I sure hope you and those other women aren''t voting for Palin just because she is a "woman".
There''s a big difference between Hillary''s "brain" and Palin''s.

"Having a female president or vice-president shatters another glass ceiling."
"We may not see an opportunity for a female president or vice-president for another twenty years."
"To have a female president or vice-president is symbolic of equal opportunity for women."
So let me get this straight. These are the only reasons you are voting for McCain/Palin? That she will be the first woman VP and possible President?
I think it''s great that there could be a woman for VP, but that should be at the bottom of the list as to why you would vote for her. Don''t you think that there are more important reasons to be voting for her and not just because she''s a woman? That''s actually quite pathetic.
"My sister is broken-hearted that America won''''t have a female as our next president. She still has a chance to see our first female vice-president."
Ah geez, by all means, the American people need to vote for her and McCain, so your sister can see the first woman VP. Never mind whether she''s qualified or not. - Reply to this comment
- Sorry, but I believe age is a CRITICAL factor in this race.
McCain, even if he were competent to lead the U.S. of A., at 72 is up there in the netherworld, life expectancy-wise.
And with Palin as the second string quarterback, that makes age very, very critical.
''''Cuz Palin could nominate as her vice President somebody like, oh, I don''''t know - perhaps D. Cheney?
Or perhaps Palin would choose Ed Kalnins, the senior pastor of Wasilla Assembly of God?

Age as an issue is one thing. Many of the posters were making fun of the looks and age differences between Hillary and Palin. These posters were not debating whether the age differences would affect how either would do in office. - Reply to this comment

I think her and Bill are still pi*sed that another woman may get into the White House before her. - Reply to this comment
- Hillary should be able to hold her own against Palin or any other adversary. If she is afraid to be at the same event as Palin, perhaps it is just as well that she lost in the primaries. It appears that the rally organizers invited both Hillary and Palin as it should be. Corporations and their lobbyists are smart enough to realize that you give support to both parties to curry favors from the winner. The rally organizers seem smart wenough to realize this, too. If you were a McCain/Palin supporter how would you feel if only the Obama/Hillary group were invited? The same would hold true if the McCain/Palin group were invited and not the Obama/Hillary group. Some things are simply politically correct.

- Debate the issues, not someone''''s age or looks. Vote on their records and philosophies if you are serious about electing the best candidates.

Yes, but this could cost Obama needed votes. Jews are important in swing states and can make the difference between winning and losing. The election will be too close to turn away votes. This appears to be another mistake in tactics by the Obama camp.

Hillary did the right thing. McCain wants Palin to gain some prestige. Putting her on the same stage as Hillary, even if not at the same time, would grant her that. She''s unfit to carry Hillary''s water and Hillary should not do anything that makes Palin look better than she is. - Reply to this comment
- I don''''t think Hillary cares if it cost Obama votes;...in fact, I think she hopes it does so she can run in 2012.

You may be right about this. If so, the Obama camp should realize that they can not depend on the Clintons. On the other hand, the Obama people might be able to hold the money to pay her campaign expenses over her head as a way to get her cooperation. In any event, you raise a good point. - Reply to this comment

- Some of the comments about Hillary''s looks and age solve nothing. In fact, it shows how shallow some posters are. The fact that Hillary got 18,000,000 speaks for itself. She had almost as many votes as Obama. Debate the issues, not someone''s age or looks. Vote on their records and philosophies if you are serious about electing the best candidates.
