What Hoover was advocating was non-regulation of businesses. When businesses go un-checked, greed will always set in and destroy our economy. Ther has to be a check and balance. When Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall act in 1999, he opened pandora''s box. Look what has happened over the past 8 years, once greed took over. - Reply to this comment

- "Only proven reformers John McCain and Sarah Palin can fix it. Tougher rules on Wall Street to protect your life savings. No special interest giveaways. Lower taxes to create new jobs. Offshore drilling to reduce gas prices."
More lies and Bushit from McClone!
The Republicans have been the leaders in the "deregulation" that have given the predators of the financial elite the license to steal. McCain has played along.
McCain has flip-flopped on tax cuts for the financial elite billionaire class, all while supporting extemely high military expenditures. You can''t live on a credit card forever McCain!
And now he claims he''ll fix the mess he helped create?
Completely unbelievable!
For a real change--Obama / Biden ''08! - Reply to this comment
- Here are some quotes from another Republican, a former President. Sadly he mismanaged the economy as well. However, the quotes are still very good.
