Didn''t say it wasn''t. Point is the last tax cuts benifited only the rich and did nothing to stimulate the economy. What little tax savings the working class recieved we quickly whiped out by inflation and stagnet wages.- Reply to this comment
- One thing is certain, however; Obama has totally abandoned all that made him different and exciting to so many voters and now appears to be just another Democratic politician.

Oh I don''t know, I for one am happy to see him stand up against Rove and his pack of lies and smears. John McCain doesn''t want to talk about the issues, John McCain CAN''T talk about the issues, so if that leaves Obama rolling around in the gutter with John McCain, so be it. - Reply to this comment
- Why shouldn''''t the pay thier fair share of taxes? Do you think we should continue the borrow and spent Bush policies foreaver?

Please name one economic study that confirms tax cuts for the rich stimulate the economy? There is none. The resulting deposits create inflation, devaluation of currency and as you might of guessed unstable financial markets. All the productivity gains of the last 8 years have gone to the top 1% of Americans. Why shouldn''t the pay thier fair share of taxes? Do you think we should continue the borrow and spent Bush policies foreaver? - Reply to this comment
- stormey - if you would only read Obama''s platform you would see that he is calling for increasing taxes (otherwise known as letting the tax breaks expire) for companies that shift their jobs overseas and will extend NEW tax breaks to companies that create jobs domestically, and especially in the environmental/green jobs category. In other words, new American jobs get tax breaks, jobs sent away get taxed.

- LIBS just don''t get it. They think MORE taxes are just what Washington needs.
McCain/Palin want to reform the system. McCain has pledged to veto earmarks. Nobama? Not so much.
REAL CHANGE
McCain/Palin 2008. - Reply to this comment
- Bush''s policy was lower taxes to create new jobs and guess what - fewer jobs were created on his watch than at any time in the recent past. McCain''s plan of lower taxes to create jobs is going to fare no better - and cutting taxes on corporations, especially those that move their operations offshore or transfer their jobs to India, is just going to continue to drain the government of much needed revenue.

- Nobama has had 94 chances to vote for lower taxes or not to raise taxes.
94 times he voted against lower taxes or not raising taxes.

What Hoover was advocating was non-regulation of businesses. When businesses go un-checked, greed will always set in and destroy our economy. Ther has to be a check and balance. When Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall act in 1999, he opened pandora''s box. Look what has happened over the past 8 years, once greed took over. - Reply to this comment

- "Only proven reformers John McCain and Sarah Palin can fix it. Tougher rules on Wall Street to protect your life savings. No special interest giveaways. Lower taxes to create new jobs. Offshore drilling to reduce gas prices."
More lies and Bushit from McClone!
The Republicans have been the leaders in the "deregulation" that have given the predators of the financial elite the license to steal. McCain has played along.
McCain has flip-flopped on tax cuts for the financial elite billionaire class, all while supporting extemely high military expenditures. You can''t live on a credit card forever McCain!
And now he claims he''ll fix the mess he helped create?
Completely unbelievable!
For a real change--Obama / Biden ''08! - Reply to this comment
- Here are some quotes from another Republican, a former President. Sadly he mismanaged the economy as well. However, the quotes are still very good.
