- Sorry but foreigner enemy combants don''''t get the protection of my Constitutional rights!

They might as well have the same rights as we have. These rights protect the accused but also ensure the system is honest so when we make a determination of guilt, we have the correct party. In the end, we are doing it not so much out of the goodness of our hearts but because it is for our own good. - Reply to this comment
- And what authority do you have over the Supreme Court? They made the decision.

- Doesn''''''''t sound at all legal. Especially considering the Parhat decision came from three REPUBLICAN appointed appellate judges one of them by the Current President Bush.

And frankly I don''''t care what is done to them, whether they get a trial or not, if they''''re let out they''''re on their own...hopefully they''''ve learned they can''''t bomb bomb America. Or their behind lands in Gitmo with NO rights.

The story of how Bush may have opened the door to allow terrorists into the US because he brought them to Gitmo instead of leaving them overseas where he caught them.

Frankly I don''''t understand why they all weren''''t taken immediately to the Empire State Building, light a torch to them and throw them over the side, yelling praiseeeeeeeeee jaysussssssssss! Even if all they did was just associate the planners or implementors of 911.

- If it is a matter of life and death for the woman, yes I support that. But I support doing it early, before the baby becomes a sentient being.
is at stake.

Did I actually get anyone on the other side to say this? This is sensational.
I also support it under various circumstances, such as a deformity in the fetus, a risk to the mother''s health that is not necessarily serious, rape, incest, etc.
In the case when the fetus has not reached viability and the woman decides to terminate pregnancy, I also support it, even without the presence of qualifying conditions.
At some point, we will part company because my view of ''life'' is materialistic. It is an accident, sort of. The universe constantly creates and destroys information. Life is like that, a piece of self-perpetuating information. - Reply to this comment

- But I''''ve also seens county hospitals pad their government bills with $2.00 for a Q-tip, baby aspirin, or band aide.
Our leadership will never abide by allowing that to happen...NONE of them.
That''''s why I would just plain rather have control of my own money and spending.

Yeah, I have seen $500 toilet seats and $200 hammers too. That''s why I''d prefer to keep my tax money and just by a gun. - Reply to this comment

- precisely, they have a problem with the patriot act, because it doesn''''t let the terrorists "phone-home E.T." anymore, and Sarah Palin had that great line in the speech, where she said "terrorists wish to do us great harm, and Obama is worried about reading them their rights"....(ie: the supreme court liberal decision to allow terrorists to skate)

- Frankly, I would love to see a universal health care system. And see pharmaceuticals especially bidding for competitive prices.
I would love for health care costs to be held to costs and salaries.

- You want to play semantics. I value a woman''''s life, I also value the fetus. But I value the woman''''s life more. Isn''''t a woman''''s life considered human life? In fact, a woman''''s life is a more complete life biologically speaking.
The only reason I can see why you would have it backwards is because of this ''''sanctity'''' thing. That''''s just your religion.

I am talking about just tossing babies away, like inconvenient garbage, just so nobody will know about it...or because you don''t want the responsibility for it. And especially late term abortions...there''s absolutely no use in that, unless the mother''s life is at stake. - Reply to this comment

What''s McCain''s answer to this gentlemen?
Listen to the following on C-Span and see how Bush mistake can admit terrorists to the US legally AND LISTEN AS THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE DOJ EXPLAINS THEY HAVE NO RECOMMENDATION AS TO HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. Instead the Republicans (apparently lacking expertise) leave this national security matter to the Democrats in Congress.

Excerpt from Case Decision -- (not good for DOJ)
"First, the government suggests that several of the assertions in the intelligence documents are reliable because they are made in at least three different documents. We are not persuaded. Lewis Carroll notwithstanding, the fact that the government has %u201Csaid it thrice%u201D does not make an allegation true. See LEWIS CARROLL, THE HUNTING OF THE SNARK 3 (1876) (%u201CI have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true.%u201D). In fact, we have no basis for concluding that there are independent sources for the documents%u2019 thrice-made assertions."- Reply to this comment
- There has to be a way to reduce the cost of health services. Some innovative solutions are necessary. I''''ve always liked school nurses to provide basic health and vaccines for kids but that would require eliminating or reducing liability for sue happy parents.

I agree. One way to do this is to make prices for services transparent and available so the customer can shop for the best deals before you have to use these services. This also means some level of transparency concerning the skill and experience of those health professionals we will go to. It is not quite a free market out there. - Reply to this comment

- To chunk a baby in the garbage just because it is INCONVENIENT is abhorrent! No matter how they came to be there!
You obviously just do not value human life.

- You see I don''''t trust my government, no matter who is in it. Once you allow your government control of that money...as far as I''''m concerned, you''''ve lost! And you will have NO CONTROL over how much they tax you for it!
Posted by OBungler at 03:01 PM : Sep 06, 2008
We have the most expensive health care in the world, who pays for it? We do. Because like it or not, we are going to need it. Does it mean that making it affordable will require our tax rates to be the highest in the world, so really what is the point, we''re just shifting money around but we end up just as poor? I don''t know the answer to that question. And you don''t either. It may be that our tax rates will rise but not in the way that will make the system more burdensome. But if we don''t explore the issue, we''ll never know. - Reply to this comment
