Comments on: Ron Paul’s Counter Convention
CBSNews.com Reports: As Republicans Gathered At The RNC In Minnesota, The Faithful Rallied Around Their Own Saint Paul
- Why is the RNC afraid of having Ron Paul speak at the convention? Ron Paul obviously has a vocal and determined following. And of all things, he has cross over appeal to both parties. You would think having someone who can reach and motivate the Republican base would be their first priority.

- Actually McCain and Palin do represent what we want, honest change, officials that have suffered the ups and downs and disappointments of everyday life. The rest of you are living in your own little worlds. Obama, Biden and Paul are just "good ole boys" in a long line of good ole boy politicians. Bush is not the problem with this country, it is the fact that democrats have had control of congress for years and this is what happens everytime they are in control. What makes anyone thinks Obama is change, it is business as usual if he gets in. It is time for Mr. Paul and his little followers to get a clue, support honest change and work together to unseat the democrats.

What a bunch of rediculas drool.
"democrats have had control of congress for years"
Have you been on another planet? Lost in Space or what? Your Republicans and Bush have attempted to destroy our country for their own benefit. The rubber stamp congress of Bush/Cheney where half of them are serving prison time or are under indictments, is about to come to an end, but Not Soon Enough.
The "Signing Statement President" and his henchmen are on the way out. - Reply to this comment

- HUSSEIN ENERGY PLAN,,, INFLATE YOUR TIRES,,, GET A TUNE UP,,,
68 million acres of land federally leased for drilling
It''s part of nearly 2 billion acres overseen by two federal agencies %u2014 the Bureau of Land Management and the Minerals Management Service %u2014 that have potential for oil and gas exploration, the bulk of which is strictly off limits.
http://www.startribune.com/business/25665954.html
hmmmmm that is only 3.4% of the available lands
THANKS DEMONIC-RATS,,,
DRILLING WORKED FOR NORWAY,,,
NORWAY FOUND OFFSHORE OIL,,, SO CAN THE USA,,,
Since 1970 it''s been clear that vast oil and gas riches lay under the ocean floor off the Norwegian coast. In the year 2000, we''''ll still be determining the size of these resources. We know that at the turn of the millennium Norway will be one of the world''s major oil exporting countries and a main source of natural gas for Europe. Following a sharp increase in oil production in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, oil extraction will level off and decline in the next decade, while gas production will double from 1995 to 2005. The Petroleum sector will remain one of the most important spheres of the Norwegian economy for a long time to come.

I hate to tell you this but by the end of this election there will be at least 6 to 12 Republican senators not retruning to Washington. Not only that there will be even more Republican Governor losses as will as House. Also, State houses and senotors will be replaced with Democrats. Sorry to burst you bubble but when you don''t listen to the American voters except that and nothing more. - Reply to this comment

Why should they work against their own interests, with a party that won''t even allow them a voice at the convention?

- Actually the Independent Party should become an activist association, rather than a political party.
When one sees their positions, they represent more of the Democrats'' stated concerns than Republicans''.
Gun control? GOP
Abortion? Dem.
Taxes? Neither.
Abolish the Fed? Dems
Pot? Dems
Government intrusion into private lives? Dems
Corruption? Neither.
Corporate welfare? Dems.
Deregulation? Both.
Secular influence on laws? Dems
Foreign military policy? Dems
Foreign economic policy? Dems
Constitutional issues? Dems
Green issues? Both.
Economic issues? Dems.
I could go on, but the concerns of the independent party are closer to the Democrat positions, yet they court the Republicans, who don''t want to let them in, perhaps because, like the GOP, there are more anti-social elements within, and their voices are louder, influencing the group to try to affiliate with the Republicans. Ron Paul for example, counts among his supporters the kkk, aryan nations, and other neo-Nazi groups, that do contribute much needed money, in exchange for a disproportionate voice in shaping the goals of the whole.
If they simply become an advocacy group, they can help elect politicians from both sides who reflect particular views, without having to swallow the whole program of either party in exchange for an "official" seat at the table. - Reply to this comment

- It has been learned that the Republican/Libertarian congressman, Ron Paul, will be allowed to the neocon Fascist Nazi rally only to the floor, accompanied by a neocon Fascist Nazi chapereon, with none of his staff, and after his visit, all his credentials will be taken from him.
It has also been rumored that Sarah Palin will be allowed to bring a grizzly bear cub and a full-grown moose to the rally, together with the staff to clean up after them.
It is even rumored that Vladimer Putin will make a surprise visit to the rally, to speak about how "wonderful" a "neighbor" Sarah Palin has been and how he is waiting expectantly for the day she becomes Vice-Emperess so that Alaska can secede from the USSA and become a part of Russia!

Good point, maybe Obama is `better` by 0.001%. But your reasoning about judges is crazy. The judges you mention have defended handgun ownership! And the Guantanamo Bay people aren''t going to help us dude, so forget that unsound reasoning. - Reply to this comment

- Ron Paul supporters should now vote for Obama.....and those are big numbers of poeple when less than 100,000 votes has been the deciding factors in recent elections.
At least Obama will nominate judges and justices who will protect freedom. Freedom is what its all about and the judicial system is where your freedom is today. Niether party cares about your rights today. McCain has already said he wants more like Alito, Roberts and Scalia who all voted in favor of the govt''s unconstitutional treatment of Guantanamo Bay detainees. - Reply to this comment
