John McCain is TRULY "out of touch"..if he honestly believes that America''''s female voters are so "Ignorant of the issues" and so "desparate" to see a female in a position of power, that they will just vote for ANYONE with XX Chromosomes!!

Gov. Palen may be a wonderful person, May even have a great political future ahead of her. But to allow herself to be "hoodwinked" into accepting the positon of VP with John McCain, says volumes about her lack of "political Savy"...and could very well be a case of "political suicide"!

tbweb,

Being "pro-life" is an expression of preference. It doesn''t mean that everyone who is "pro-life" wants to overturn Roe v. Wade. Some do,some don''t. I do admit that it is politically expedient for dems to conjur images or gruesome back-alleys abortions. I for, for one, am "pro-life", that is I prefer te adoption or other life preserving solution over abortion. It does not mean that I favor banning abortion.

Democrats were strategically savvy to portray "pro-abortion" as "pro-choice" and "pro-life" as "pro-no choice"....the inaccuracy and asymmetry of the terminology appears to convey "tolerance" vs "intolerance". This however is merely semantic legeredemain.

Very few, whether they are "pro-life" or "pro-abortion" favor eliminating choice. Although democrat rhetoric would have us believe so.

"And of course as governor, she has had enormous responsibilities, none of which Senator Obama had. When she was in government, he was a community organizer. When she was taking tough positions against her own party, Senator Obama was voting present 130 times in the state legislature. On every tough issue, whatever it was, she was taking them on. That''s the kind of judgment that I''m confident that we need in Washington." -- John McCain

Ouch!! Now I see why the Bot''s are freaking out!! Big trouble for Barry!!

I don''t believe that women as a group are so stupid as to vote for McCain just because the VP choice is a woman. I think McCain was trying more to rev up the Republican base than the Hillary supporters. I think we need to stop voting for gimmicks, short great sounding phrases, and all the other bs that politicians(from all parties) use. We need to expect more from politicians, we need to expect the truth and let them face the consequences of lying and manipulation.

Barkyn-Spydur - "What did Hillary say about McCain?".

%u201CI think that since we now know Sen. (John) McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it%u2019s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold.
I believe that I%u2019ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that."

and she said the McCain is a %u201Cdistinguished man with a great history of service to our country."

and she said..."I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

So there''s the answer to your question, Spydur.

Until those Clinton supporting women voters wake up and realize Sarah Palin supports a ban on abortions and overturning Roe V. Wade! So, is it about the issues or gender or race or personalities? I vote the issues myself!

What did Hillary say about McCain? No McCain....no how, no way, no where...not ever. The stakes are too high to throw away your vote. Palin was McCain''s switch and bait attempt to appeal to the women "crotch voters" who vote more on the basis of sexual bias, female pride, and emotions than the real issues. Without trying to sound like I''m gender biased or a male chauvanist. If women vote for McCain based on Palin, they are going to get exactly what they voted for. Another 4 years of conservative policy aimed exactly at the opposite of what Hillary''s campaign was for. Actually, her campaign ideals are more ideologically in step with Obama''s campaign than the conservative side. Seriously, how much more petty and contrived could Palin''s VP appointment possibly be. Another feeble attempt by the Republicans to manufacture an issue clearly out of step with democratic voters. Do what Hillary told you to do, she was wise enough to tell her constituents to vote for Obama. You were going to vote for her, isn''t her recommendation good enough. Time to bury the hachet and do what''s right for the party. Don''t fall for the Republican Sarah Palin switch and bait. We can''t afford another 4 years if McCain''s term end up being identical to Bush''s....and he''s voted with him on %95 percent of the issues. Do you seriously think inexperienced Palin would vote any different, consider she was picked his VP.

I majored in political science in college. What I learned is if you are going to make a political decesion make sure it is a smart one. Picking Sara Palin was hardly that. Yes even when I was in school politics 101 was in play as it is today, but I belive the voting public is getting feed up our elected officials and want to see the course changed.

If one of the reasons he picked Palin is to capture some of Hillary Clinton''''s disgruntled voters, it helps to make the case that he is operating like a Washington insider. He has to know she at this point is not qualified to operate on the world stage, but I guess winning the election is more important.

Of course! This is something both sides would do to get the upper hand. It is politics 101. Every political science students learns this very early.

Gov. Sarah Palin''s pick was a political choice for McCain pure and simple. Not such a smart one at that!
It hardly makes McCain a maverick, instead I believe it makes him look more like a mainstream Washington politician.

I don`t think his ego and vanity got in the way, I think Obama really wanted to pick Hillary but didn`t because Bill Clinton got in the way! Obama could not figure out how to handle or what to do with Bill Clinton who no one can control!

Posted by tbweb

That would be easy. Candidates are expected to bad mouth their opponents during their campaigns. Just as we saw on television, both Bill and Hillary gave excellent speechs backing Obama for president. Everything is fair game in love and war. If countries such as Germany and Japan could become our friends after WWII, this ,too, could be solved.

Forget about this maverick image. Even a maverick looks before leaping and all evidence from the fact that he only met Palin once to the fact that the lady has little or no credential shows he did not look. This man is lost his sense and is juicd up in ego. Through this action, he undermines the office of the presidency and not putting country first and has exposed himself as lacking good judgement which is fundamental in being the president. There are other ways of show maverick character, surely not this one.

When the debates shift to immigration, the 6 month honeymoon will be over for BHO as he supports "sancutary cities". He also supports federal funding for benefits for undocumented students. If that is not enough, he also supports driver''s licenses for them as well.

McCain/Palin They don''t go to anti-white, anti-american churches.
McCain/Palin They don''t call Pennsylvanians "angry, bitter citizens who cling to bibles adn guns"

Weren''t you a Hillary supporter in the Primaries? I was an Obama supporter in the primaries and Palin tilted my vote - care to talk it out? I''d be interested in hearing more about how a woman that supported Hillary could call another woman ''insane'' for wanting to vote for a woman.

John McCain doesn''''t expect all of the disaffected Hillary supporters, just some of them. He is hoping for enough to put him over the top. Obama could have had most of the Hillary voters by choosing Hillary as vice-president but his ego and vanity got in the way.

At least she didn''t attend an Anti-White, Anti-American church for 20+ years. She also doesn''t have ties to Ayers or Farakhan so that''s a plus. She was also governor of a State and not a Senator for 140 some days. Just thought some facts would be nice.
Thanks for the time.
By the way....McCAin didn''t say a few months ago that she was unqualified. Joe Biden called BHO unqualified a few months ago though. Pretty funny stuff.

Sarah Palin has not been properly vetted, many agree surprises are lurking around every corner the McCain campaign doesn`t have enough time to prepare for or answer since the November election is so close, any hidden issue about Palin could sink Bush3`s chances! Sen. Obama has been vetted in the Press in front of Americans and the World for the last 20 months!, and despite all the dirt and mud thrown at Obama he still leads McSame in the Polls and is stretching his lead! Sarah Palin is currently under investigation for abusing her position as Governor and a Report is due out late October that could remove her from office if she is found guilty, right before the November voting, something the McCain camp has to be worried about! Firing a State Official because he refused to fire Palin`s sisters State Trooper husband while they went through a nasty divorce and custody battle is an abuse of power and the State official has Palin`s emails to make his case! Stay tuned into this drama!

The funny thing about this choice, an attempt to get Hilary followers to switch to the repug party, is that NO ONE who supported Hillary is going to vote for McCain.

Hillary is totally opposed to McCain''''s political positions, which are vitually identical to Bush''''s. And Hillary is supporting Obama. Anyone who supported Hillary would have to go completely in.sane before they''''d vote for Johnny McSame! Sure, there are bound to be a few in.sane people who think it''''s more important to put a woman in the white house than it is to get someone there who will work for your interests, but if McCain thinks that''''s going to sway the election his way, he''''s completely NUTZ.

a teacher told me that I would''''t get into college. When in college, the same teacher told me that I would not graduate college. That was three degrees ago.

The teacher was smart, the teacher used reverse psychology on you, knowing it would motivate you and it worked! :)
