Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh Ruled Out; Sen. Joe Biden Reportedly A Leading Contender
- I guess Obama fell for Biden''s "clean and articulate" compliment.
Anyway, it seems that Obama has hired on a special tutor who is the ultimate Washington "politics as usual" expert.
Fatal move for you, Obama. - Reply to this comment
- Our current economic situation is nowhere near the disaster at the end of the Carter administration or even in certain instances the recession of the early 90s.

For many the Sky has already fallen you haven''t heard. I''m not surprised. - Reply to this comment
- I wonder how the age argument will play now, McCain is 72 but Obama has chosen a man who is only 7 years younger to be a heart beat away from the presidency, I suppose 7 years is a lot, but, Joe Biden is hardly one who can claim he has not uttered some misstatements on occasion.

- US Economy is the worst shape in over 30 years
That is highly debatable, a careful examination does not make this current situation any where as bad as the late 1970s and early 1980s.
US automakers just asked US GOVT for 50 billion in loans
US automakers were digging their own graves in the early 80s, they survived, they will do so again.
US unemployment rate soaring
Nowhere near historic highs
FUEL prices highest in US history
not if adjusted for inflation.
redwhtblue2--you are clearly a thoughtful and serious individual, but in many instances your facts are simply wrong. What will sink this economy faster than anything are people like you who keep saying the sky is falling when it isn''t. Our current economic situation is nowhere near the disaster at the end of the Carter administration or even in certain instances the recession of the early 90s. - Reply to this comment
- Obama must not be a "hope" or "change" candidate anymore - especially if he selects Joe Biden the ultimate Washington backstabber, of all people, as his running mate.

My dad''s got a small business too - even smaller than yours, but he''s said yeah that everybody''s got less funding so costs are up (especially delivery) and purchases are down.
I wonder whether economists could show your point with graphs and math and stuff because the people on tv who make that point are always the economists who do it from afar and nobody ever pays any attention to them because they always say the ''fundamentals'' are strong or whatever . . . - Reply to this comment
