McCain, Obama Sending Messages To Majority Who Dislike Abortion But Don't Want It Banned
- Donnie10008,
I won''''t argue with you about whether abortion is "right" or "wrong". However, I will say that denying a woman the right to have an abortion is just as wrong as abortion will ever be. I agree with your idea of offering alternatives. In my opinion, everyone who doesn''''t like abortion should look for viable alternatives, and should offer up their services whenever and wherever possible to make those alternatives available and realistic. Good post!

- Just like its wrong to experiment with ''discarded'' embryos, and we can find a more difficult, but morally less reprehensible solution with adult stem cells, so too can we avoid abortion. By providing people alternatives. Abortion is wrong.

- What the heck kind of a bettyboop mentality says: ''If ya don''t like something ya still should vote for it.''? If you don''t like it, don''t vote for it. And quit being suckered by psycho rationality. Its simple.

- McCain is so liberal that he is sort of like a really really conservative Democrat.

Now you are on to something. The truth is that McCain talks out of both sides of his mouth and cannot be trusted to do anything except what is most expedient for McCain. He''''s not a flip flop because he has no principles in the first place.

*** I''m very glad you all are starting to catch on to Amnesty Mccain! Amnesty Mccain should not be the Republican nominee for president! ANYONE would have been a better option! If Amnesty Mccain thinks he is going to win because of the south, he will be very surprised and upset on election day! Huckabee won most southern states in the primary. Don''t count on all Huckabee voters to vote for Amnesty Mccain. Most of Huckabee voters may have voted for Huckabee because they "like Mike" but they also hate Amnesty Mccain! Watch Bob Barr pick off more than enough votes to turn some southern states blue this November! Why can''t the republicans come up with a candidate that didn''t co-sponsor an amnesty bill? - Reply to this comment

*** Amnesty Mccain doesn''t think so! Amnesty Mccain isn''t pro-life or pro-choice, he is only pro-oil company executive! Vote Obama 2008! - Reply to this comment

While you are entitled to your opinion, I''ll point out a few things.
1. Abortion was not invented by Roe v Wade, and it won''t disappear if Roe v Wade is overturned.
2. Before Roe V Wade, many mothers were seriously injured or died by botched abortion attempts. So if you are pro-life, what about those mothers lives?
3. People with money can always get an abortion, even if they have to travel out of the country , so it''s poor women who are effected most.
4. Even if Roe v Wade is repealed, it doesn''t make abortion automatically illegal. It just means it''s not a federally guaranteed right. That means each state will be free to make it''s own rules regarding abortion. Some will probably ban it outright, some may allow some exceptions, and others will keep it legal.
I though Barack Obama had the best answer, that ways should be found to limit unwanted pregnancies, as the best way to reduce the number of abortions! Repealing Roe v Wade will not stop abortions, it will just make them harder to get, leading to more dead mothers! Do you really want to trade the life of an unborn fetus with that of the mother? How is that pro-life?

- Call abortion what it is: MURDER
The Declaration of Independence:
We are all endowed by our CREATOR, ......with certain unalienable rights, including the pursuit of LIFE, LIBERTY and HAPPINESS
Thanks to secularist libs and abortion (murder) the DOI doesn''t apply to the unborn.
Heaven sure has been overpopulated since Roe v Wade

- concerned222:I really do understand your point of view...you are concerned about women and their lives. As a woman and mother, I know all too well the challenges faced with unplanned pregnancies. I can only empathize with these women who are faced with such problems.
But, in the context of abortion, I am assuming that you feel the mother''s life is more important than the fetus within her. And because one life is more important, she should have access to a safe and legal way to dispose of the life within her for whatever reasons, even if conceived under the most tragic of circumstances. "Every child a wanted child" seems to be the predominant theme for those who believe in abortion rights.
I am troubled by the premonition that the value of one''s life is based on whether they are wanted or not (nightmares of Hitler come to mind). That sounds very discriminating and disturbing to me. This kind of attitude has caused untold suffering in various ugly forms of genocide and human rights violations.
I say all human life is invaluable and precious, no matter what the circumstances each were conceived. We should be promoting more loving solutions to those women in need...abortion is a violent act against women and the life within her. - Reply to this comment
- steelmagnoli: you make valid points that have been made many times. I don''t really disagree. However, abortions will always be around (safe or unsafe). I just hate the fact that it''s always the men who are trying to make these decisions. It''s still a medical issue. Abortions should never be necessary, however there are too many women who use pregnancy as a trap for others. And then there''s rape, incest, etc. I vote for keeping it safe and saving lives. More women will die if it''s not legal. I hate politics and the issues that politics think it must address.
