Wellhell3,

mandatory coverage is a gimmick like a gas tax holiday or offshore drilling. It doesn''''t solve the prblem it purports to.

Look at the results in Massachusetts. The peole who couldn''''t afford coverage before still can''''t, so they grant them "exemptions". In other words, it isn''''t really mandatory. If it were the jails would be filled with people whose only crime would be not being able to afford $100 for an aspirin(a dramatic exaggeration, of course).

And then of course, you have a LOT of people very happy with their Mass Plan.

Strange isn''t it. There are going to be unhappy ungrateful people no matter what is done!

And if you will go back and look, the original national health plan was a bi-partisan effort.

In what fantasy world does the government cover people who are uninsured? I''ve been uninsured for years and that means I pay all my bills myself, and since last year the state of Mass. has *also* been fining me for taking responsibility for my own life (gee that really helps me afford my medical costs, apparently I deserve to be punished). Thanks a ton Mitt Romney. I love how everyone pretends that insurance is the only thing that can pay a doctor, y''know doctors accept plain old money just like any other business. Well if Hillary''s/Mitt''s plan really goes through nationwide then everyone in the other 49 states can enjoy not being allowed to run their own lives just like me. Welcome to being forced to be a customer to the insurance industry.

WellHell3: Then you should take a look at the conservative platform, which essentially wants to privatize everything.

If the GOP has its way they will get rid of all those gov''''t programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Then it will be "good luck" to those who can''''t afford McCain''''s private individual plans or those who are deemed uninsurable.

Sorry, I don''t believe that for a minute.

Wellhell3,

My County doesn''''t offer *** in the way of any social services. The state has coverage for children but not adults. I''''d have to sell my house and live in the street to get medicaid, so my wife lives with diabetes and no coverage as a result.

If we did get on medicaid you''''d be the first to call us freeloaders.

That''s a good thing then. Glad you''re getting the help you need.

Wellhell3,

What''''s funny is that you''''re too stupid to realize that Hillary lifted her entire plan from Romney''''s "Massachusetts Miracle".

Hillary''''s plan is mandatory coverage. Obama & McCain both offer voluntary coverage with different options. All 3 plans are different. Hillary & Romney''''s plans were the same as far as coverage is concerned.

Good for her then if she recognized a good plan and based hers on it! And I am totally in support of mandatory coverage. It makes people sign up for SOMETHING, instead of taking their kids to the ER to get their temperature taken and charging back the government at ER rates!

Funny how people deride "socialized" medecine, but then tell others to find government help when private insurers make it too expensive. Something wrong with this picture.

Wellhell3,

What are these 6 ways? I have insurance for myself through my employer but can''''t afford the premiums for my wife. She''''s not sitting on her lazy ***, but can''''t get help because i make too much money.

Since you''''re so smart and the judge of other people, please tell us where we can go.

There are already six ways to a dozen to find insurance asssistance if you''''ll get off your lazy arse and find them!

Posted by WellHell3 at 01:04 AM : Aug 10, 2008

Yes, and guess what? Those "insurance assistance" programs are run by the government, not the "free market". And a lot of people would not qualify anyway, making "too much" money but not enough for those monthly $1000 premiums. Time to put on your thinking cap once in a while.

Wellhell3,

As usual you''''re full of ***.

Obama hasn''''t changed his position one iota, but Hillary(your former candidate of choice) has crapped all over the plan that beat hers at the ballot box.

Now THIS is even more hilarious...when Obscamma scammed half his plan from Hillary''s and then turned it into *****!

Again...honk on!

standlee5,

With all due respect, please show me where Obama ever said that MIA dads need government assistance. That''s simply not true. What he did say is that MIA dad''s need to step up to the plate.

McCain''''s idea of having people buy individual plans will be a complete disaster. Anyone who has to do so will attest to this. My consultant friends gripe about this all the time. Unlike group plans, insurers can and will raise your premiums AT ANY TIME, as often as they want. They will NOT cover pre-existing conditions, even minor ones. A friend with a persistent back problem had to have a rider in his policy stating that they will not cover it. Imagine somebody with more serious problems. They can and will discontinue coverage AT ANY TIME. As bad as the current system is, it''''s still better than McCain''''s insane idea.

This, and this reason alone, is enough not to vote this man into office.

Oh, I don''t think so. I think protecting our Constitution from being buried in global authority is much more important thant Obscamma''s insurance scam...and that''s why McCain will get my vote any day.

Also I think protecting this country is much more important also.
