%u201CSaddam Hussein is a tyrant who has tortured and killed his own people, even his own family members, to maintain his iron grip on power. He used chemical weapons on Iraqi Kurds and on Iranians, killing over 20 thousand people. Unfortunately, during the 1980''s, while he engaged in such horrific activity, he enjoyed the support of the American government, because he had oil and was seen as a counterweight to the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran.
%u201CIn 1991, Saddam Hussein invaded and occupied Kuwait, losing the support of the United States. The first President Bush assembled a global coalition, including many Arab states, and threw Saddam out after forty-three days of bombing and a hundred hours of ground operations. The U.S.-led coalition then withdrew, leaving the Kurds and the Shiites, who had risen against Saddam Hussein at our urging, to Saddam''s revenge.

See, you don''t need the Clintons to talk. We can just REPLAY THE SPEECHES THEY ALREADY GAVE.

That would SAY IT ALL about the Clintons.

Can''''t wait to here Bill again. Reminds me of the good old days; no recession, no deposite, no war, $1.20 gas. I sure miss Bill, he was the best president this country ever had except FDR of course.

Your distorted view of the world is appalling. ..
He should be impeached for lying us into war.
Posted by talkingham at 10:35 AM : Aug 08, 2008

Covered that. It''s called projection. Look it up.

Bill Clinton WAS impeached, for lying about a variety of things. Now we know his WMD speech was ANOTHER lie. Maybe if Congress knew that at the time, he WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST PRESIDENT REMOVED FROM OFFICE.

txgrouch,

maybe you should offer a point by point response. That would involve more thought than name-calling and more class.

I don''t disagree that the Clintons are polarizing but so are most Republican politicians;the reason the Clintons drove republicans nuts is because they could beat them at their own games.

I don''t detect any lunacy in what talkingham has said, but i do detect a good deal of anger and frustration from you because you don''t like the truth.

They smile in your face
All the time they want to take your place,
The BACK STABBERS, THE-E CLINTONS!!!

They smile in your face...

Is BillyHillary going to give a demo on oral $ex as a fund raiser? Is he going to teach our kids more about $ex Ed?
Posted by meanbiker at 10:30 AM : Aug 08, 2008

That''s another thing that really bugs me about Bill Clinton. He plunged our nation into a scandal that resulted in his impeachment.

But when my small children aske me "What did President Clinton do that was so bad?" I CAN''T TELL MY OWN CHILDREN THE TRUTH without having to explain things CHILDREN SHOULDN''T KNOW ABOUT.

"But Daddy, WHY did he put that in the girl''s mouth...?"

And GrouchTX we could have taken out Saddam with a few well placed cruise missiles instead of wasting a trillion dollars and thousands of lives and destroying a country. Every time Clinton took an action such as trying to take out Osama with missles he was lynched by the repubs and the press. Your distorted view of the world is appalling. Bush Sr. left Saddam in charge just so the region would remain destabilized and he is the one who instituted the moratorium on off shore drilling. Bush Sr., owned by the Arabs, bowed to their demand to leave Saddam in charge- they knew it would eventually lead to another war and an incredible hike in oil prices. Bush Jr. simply let Osama walk away in Afghanistan for exactly the same reason, keeping a neocon approved boogey man around to prop up their policies.

Clinton tried to keep Bush Jr. informed of the terror issue by Richard Clark but as we know in spite of the republican owned mass media Clark''s warning''s were ignored by Bush and they even ignored their own intelligence knowing that Osama was planning an attack. They wanted the attack, and now we all have to pay for it for the rest of our lives. Bush Jr. is truly the worst president in history. He should be impeached for lying us into war.

Yes the neocons have accomplished their mission of polarizing this nation so that no election can be had in a civil manner any more
Posted by talkingham at 10:26 AM : Aug 08, 2008

LOL! I''m not even going to waste my time with a point-by-point argument with the lunacy you posted.

THE CLINTONS are the polarizing element that has made civil public dialogue impossible. How typical to blame CONSERVATIVES for what the Clintons have done. Hillary ran HER WHOLE CAMPAIGN on it.

Remember when she called Obama "elitist and divisive?" Remember when she chided HIM that he couldn''t "close the deal???" It''s called projection. Look it up.

I remember the good old days when all we had to worry about was Bill Clinton''s personal moral troubles. The republicans obsessed over it to the point that they completely neglected the real problems of the country while they were in charge of Congress. The past 8 years of economic disaster under Der Decider is part of the wonderful legacy of the obsession for power at any cost by the republicans. We all make less money now because of Bush- when or how big was your last pay raise under Der Decider the Liar.

And don''t kid yourself, corporate hacks and neoconservatives own and run most of the media outlets in this country, yet whine about a tiny liberal component in the working press. If Clinton had produced 1/100th of the turmoil that Der Decider has he would have been lynched for real not in effigy, which was done not because he wasted thousands of lives and a trillion dollars in Iraq, but because he got his rocks off through intimate relations instead of killing and maiming thousands like Der Decider.

Yes the neocons have accomplished their mission of polarizing this nation so that no election can be had in a civil manner any more and accomplished their primary goal of destabilizing the middle east to the point that oil is now the only issue and they own it.

(continued)

George W. Bush was President by then, and he had grown up on war stories from his Daddy. He had no clue what was really going on in Iraq. All he cared was, if the rest of the government wanted to keep believing what Clinton said in 1998, that suited him fine. He was going to finish Daddy''s war.

Bush, Jr. barged into Iraq just because that''s what his Daddy taught him to do, and because he was stupid enough to think he could rely on a bunch of Clinton-era rhetoric to justify him, right or wrong.

Turned out to be a costly blunder. THANKS TO BILL CLINTON.

You have to understand the psychology of the players who led us into the Iraq war fiasco that is now bankrupting our nation while Iraq is swimming in a $79 BILLON surplus - much of it TAKEN OUT OF OUR OWN POCKETS AT THE GAS PUMP.

In 1991, Presiden Bush, Sr. waged a war against Iraq. Iraq was left with strict UN sanctions. It was up to his successor to enforce these sanctions.

Bill Clinton took office in 1993, and for five years he pursued a policy of appeasement toward Saddam. Saddam ran mocking rings around the UN. Finally, faced with impeachment in 1998, Clinton ABRUPTLY changed policy to "regime change" in a desperate attempt to avoid impeachment by looking tough.

It didn''t work, but Hillary Clinton and others in Washington DC continued the "regime change" policy to 2002, when Congress voted to authorize war against Iraq after the 9/11 attack. Hillary Clinton herself linked this decision to 9/11 and to the 1998 "regime change" policy in her Senate floor speecy.

macamaca-if you truly are in prison then you can''t vote. Oh yea, the dems want to give felons the right to vote. And, come to think of it, the dems probably are taking votes from prison. Silly me.
