Comments on: Bill Clinton To Address Dem Convention
Former President Will Play A Role At Denver Convention, Democratic Officials Say
- LOL why not give them that inch with the caveat that if they take more than their given, it will be revoked and they will not be given any more inches until they can prove trustworthy. So like when they DO in fact take that given inch as well as a foot, ..
I don''''t know . . .
Posted by SamTheTVCat at 02:11 AM : Aug 08, 2008
when people take an inch then a foot then a mile--the presupposition by those who DO KNOW is that when they do that--the other side no longer has the power and so cannot take back anything. The point of that old adage is to say, do not give those who can or want to harm you even a little bit of help, lest they somehow overrun and destroy you. Does this help you "Know" why Obama should cede nothing to the Clintons except those 2 Obama ,08 T shirts.
The wish for catharsis is just a lie to have a way to get in and split the convention--Clinton cannot control the convention agenda, but if Obama is stupid enough to pave the way, they can turn the event into a circus and rouse their old support base in time to undo any soothing already achieved by Obama--then when the election is lost and Clinton still does not win (nor does Obama) they can be wide eyed innocents proclaiming, "who us"?
if the Clintons and their side need catharsis--they can save it until after the election. The time for thorough purging is not during dinner--but if you must--then AFTER the meal is done--we don''t need to see the Clinton vomitus or laxative exercises. - Reply to this comment
- And what clinton brings to the table. a reduction of the national debt and a balanced budget.

Hillary is a witch, spinster, you are obviously a bitter women. Get over it, Hillary is too emotional and unstable to lead our country and most people knew it, thats why they chose a junior senator of 1 year over her." Posted by jedi080808 at 03:19 AM : Aug 08, 2008
I think that once this election is over and you see the results, you are going to be wishing that Hillary was your President.Posted by erasmus81 at 04:12 AM : Aug 08, 2008

- I''''d almost donate enough money to pay off Hillary''''s campaign debts just to see Bill Clinton get up on stage and call Obscamma the racist PUKE! he is.
That would be such a hoot!

But alas, since you bragged about your income being only 37K a year--you don''t have the funds, Rowdy-but if Obama is elected, you may be able to save and continue your Medicare/Medicaid aid package. LMAO - Reply to this comment
- Americans really need to get over the ideas of right of succession or the rights of kingmakers and former Presidents or kings as our own brand of Royalty. When Clinton became so biased and desperate to appease and make up for humiliating his wife by encouraging her to run the kind of campaign that he did--to the point of lying and making a fool out of her and himself--that was the clarion call, that the practice of seeing him as the symbol of the Democratic bastion had ended.
Clinton is a jerk, whose time has come and gone--he needs to go to California and he and Hillary need to concentrate on the potential cases involving bribes, company stealing and campaign fraud. - Reply to this comment

- Yah, so "interesting" that I''''d change my vote.
I''''m planning to vote for Obama. But if he picks ANYBODY named "Clinton" as his running mate, I''''LL VOTE AGAINST HIM.
Even if that means voting for John "Froot Loops" McCain.
Posted by txgrouch2006
Yeah, I''m not sure how I''d feel about that either. He''d pull in a lot of votes, especially from the elders and women who have race as a major issue for them. But, he is quite connected to the corruption and the way things are in D.C., something I liked not seeing in Obama. - Reply to this comment
- We don''t NEED Bill Clinton to speak. We can just keep REPLAYING THE SPEECHES HE ALREADY MADE. That SAYS IT ALL about him:
"Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. And not only against a foreign enemy, but even against his own people, gassing Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq.
%u201DThe international community had little doubt then, and I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again. "

- Well Tx.. things are slow here.. So I''m going to sing you my favorite song before I go.. Have a good weekend..
She said she''s gonna quit me,
If I didn''t quit the booze.
So I just started drinkin'' more,
To see if she would really choose.
And I have to hand it to that girl:
She meant every breath.
An'' I''m glad she did, ''cause I was about,
To drink myself to death.
Because my drinkin'' problem left today.
She packed up all her things and walked away.
Well, it looks like off the bottle now is where I''m gonna stay,
Because my drinkin'' problem left today.
-Instrumental Break-
Well, she said I had problems:
Boy, was she ever right?
To keep from goin'' home to her,
I''d stay out, drunk, all night.
And I believe that woman left me,
In the nick of time.
If she''d a-stayed much longer,
I''d have drinked up my last dime.
Because my drinkin'' problem left today.
She packed up all her things and walked away.
And it looks like off the bottle now is where I''m gonna stay,
Because my drinkin'' problem left today.

- %u201CAnd finally, on another personal note, I come to this decision from the perspective of a Senator from New York who has seen all too closely the consequences of last year''s terrible attacks on our nation. In balancing the risks of action versus inaction, I think New Yorkers who have gone through the fires of hell may be more attuned to the risk of not acting. I know that I am. %u201C

- %u201CIn 1998, the United States also changed its underlying policy toward Iraq from containment to regime change and began to examine options to effect such a change, including support for Iraqi opposition leaders within the country and abroad.
%u201CIn the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001.
%u201CIt is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security.
