A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey%u2014conducted before McCain announced his intentions on the issue--finds that 67% of voters believe that drilling should be allowed off the coasts of California, Florida and other states. Only 18% disagree and 15% are undecided. Conservative and moderate voters strongly support this approach, while liberals are more evenly divided (46% of liberals favor drilling, 37% oppose). - Reply to this comment
- It''s just hilarious everyone screeched for 7 years now about the bureaucrats lying to us about everything...
And now, Bush''s bureaucrats are telling you that drilling won''t help...
And you''re preaching it''s like the gospel of Job because it suits your little greenie weenie elect Obscamma whack doodle scam on the American people! - Reply to this comment

- 74% of Americans want offshore drilling.

PROVE IT!!! Show me where this is true. More accurate 74% of Republicans want offshore drilling, and the other 26% are enlightened Conservatives who know about fiscal responsibility, truth in political activities, accountability, integrity of word and deed, and a cleaner world so their grandchildren can grow up healthy.
McCain doesn''t embrace these Conservative ideals, he is inclinded to follow in Bush''s shadow. - Reply to this comment
- Pelosi goes on vacation with out an energy bill. She blocks all Republican sponsored bills to allow drilling offshore from getting to the floor. After adjournment, Republicans continue speaking to the crowd. Pelosi turns off the lights and microphones but Republicans are still there. 74% of Americans want offshore drilling. Democrats should be voted out.

- America has a lot of lefty pitchers in our network news outlets, we wonder why. Each of these liberal news outlets distorted the FACT that Obama DID play the race card yesterday. And it wasn''t the first time Obama has played the race card. In Berlin last week in front of 200,000 hysterical European Socialist elite admirers Obama said .."I know I don''t look like other Americans and presidents that have been here before". Yesterday at several campaign events Obama told his fans that "I know I don''t look like all the other presidents on the dollar bill..". So what was Obama referring to in both situations if he was''t talking about race? Did he mean that he wasn''t wearing a wig like the rest of the presidents on our money? Or was he talking about his skin color? OF COURSE Obama played the race card not once but several times and McCain called him on it as he should have. LOOK if network news executives and the anchors of NBC, CBS, and ABC feel like they can''t provide the American people the straight facts then you need to RESIGN. All of you who put your ideology and party before that of being an American and journalist should resign today so that the intent of our Founding Fathers, a free independent press that is free from political parties and influence, can be RESTORED. And who can forget another Obama race moment when describing his mother or grandmother........"oh she''s a typicial white person".

You are so full of nonsense, you make other scare tactics seem mundane. The status-quo presented by your position is a loser mentality, one not worthy of the ingenuity of Americans. Don''t just invest your money in other countries, move there--so we can make the changes necessary for a brighter future. Yours are so dumb, they put the dim in dimwit. - Reply to this comment
- This is stupid just like the idiot referring to hussein!
All of the experts agree that we "might" see a small benefit but it''s doubtful because the oil would be sold "overseas" and not help US!! Also the amount would be very small and wouldn''t even be productive for 10 or 12 years or longer! Mr. no brain right wing ***, try to "learn" to "read" the facts for yourself, you are the kind of moron that john mcsame appeals to and that voted in dubya who has completely ruined our country! - Reply to this comment
- Enron loophole, Enron loophole is solely responsible for the high price of oil.speculators setting the price no oversight. Offshore drilling will only increase exxon-mobil quarterly profits to 15 billion. get it, big oil companies are pushing this to make mo'' money, not to cut the price of oil.And the best one is mccain''s economic advisor created the enron loophole, mccain does not give 2 S-hits about middle class working Americans.Do not be fooled by the neocon rhetoric again folks, wake up!

I love your description of the do nothing politicians as "air heads." Thank you for your post.
People who think that drilling will not help, and that building nuclear energy reactors will not help, and who have stories about why all the energy development options have more problems than they are worth make me wonder what it is in the way of energy development that is all right with them (the left). I see a need for aggressively pursuing every option that we, as American''s can think up including drilling for oil, development of hybrids, nuclear energy, development of fossil fuel deposits in the West, solar energy, wind energy hydro energy. We could have electrical plants capturing the energy of ocean waves. So what if it takes us years (as it will) to put the production of all these options into play. What will we do in ten years if we don''t do this now? - Reply to this comment

- Sorry! but oil from off shore drilling doesn''t necesarily appear on the US market. It simply becomes part of the "world supply" hence a drop in the bucket, years down the road.
Advantge, Mobil-Exxon etc, increase their already bloated profits! - Reply to this comment
