"1 TRILLION DOLLARS, 600,000+ DEAD. For a war justification that was BS!!" Posted by jw218389

Here are some more objective numbers,

"Just Foreign Policy, an independent organisation "dedicated to reforming U.S. foreign policy" offered an updated total of 1,213,716 at the time of this writing.

On Sep. 14, 2007, Opinion Research Business (ORB), an independent polling agency located in London, produced a figure of 1,220,580 deaths as a result of the invasion.

These estimates are above any official figures from Iraq, but they do consider the reported official figures.

Iraqis believe that the authorities are hiding these figures. "The U.S. military benefits from hiding the real totals," said a political analyst who declined to give his name because of the atmosphere of fear within Iraq. "And the Iraqi government is a puppet of the Americans, so their figures are ridiculously low as well."

As usual, when your posts are revealed to be the BS they are, you fall back on name calling.

Typical.

"It seems that we are hosting an anger management class," said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas

4100 (and counting)dead soldiers and he calls the hearing "anger management". Typical Texan.

"It seems that we are hosting an anger management class," said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the committee''s senior Republican. "This hearing will not cause us to impeach the president; it will only serve to impeach Congress''s credibility."

He may very well be right, because if, after hearing the charges and reviewing the evidence, the Republicans continue to block the effort to bring Bush to justice, it is they who will have destroyed their own credibility, they will be known afterwards as the aiders and abetters of Bush''s criminal acts.

"They are not covered by the Constitution of the United States of America. So...what "rule of law" are you referring to?" Posted by terrorislamv

The Geneva Convention, the set of international law to which we are a signatory (which means we have agreed to abide by the laws set forth therein) is the "rule of law" to which he refers.

Or have you conveniently forgotted that one?

Any idiot who attempts to hold Bush responsible for his crimes, is infinitely preferable to the idiots who either ignore, or condone Bush''s crimes.

"Foreign terrorists caught in battle against our forces during war have never been eligible for "habeas corpus"! Posted by terrorislamv

More irrelevant BS, most of the people kidnapped and sent to the concentration camp at Guantanamo were not terrorists, but anyone suspected of not agreeing with the US occupation, college students (those with enough education to understand the illegality of what we were doing to them) and in many cases, some who had been framed by their neighbors to settle their own dispute, and in the worst cases, turned in for no other reason than those who turned their brethren in collected the $2,000. bounty.

The Geneva Convention, to which we are a signatory, does indeed grant "prisoners of war" the right to hear charges against them, this is why Bush did what you are now trying weakly to copy, he refused to call them POWs, preferring to make up the obfuscationary term "enemy combatants".

Even though your post is, as usual irrelevant, I will deign to respond.

Regardless of your religion, from a high apartment floor in Jakarta, to hear what seems like the whole city singing a "blues-like" melody, while the sun sets orange-red into the sea, is indeed beautiful, only one who has no music in his soul would think otherwise, and as a wise man once said, "he who hath no music in his soul, is fit for all manner of corruption and deceit".

Kill All Unbelievers

"And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God..." (Deuteronomy 13: 5)

"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;" (Deuteronomy 13: 6)

"Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." (Deuteronomy 13:8-9)

"Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword." (Deuteronomy 13:15)

So your point is?
