Presumptive Democratic Nominee Defends World Tour, Says It Will Help U.S. By Strengthening Ties With Allies
- fenner,
I guess the story is that he doesn''t have to buy hookers or doesn''t search for it in a toilet with other men. I pray that the press does focus on infidelity though. I sincerely hope this campaign focuses on which candidate has really walked the walk in terms of family values. You can defend the serial adulterer that dumped his disabled wife for the rich heiress who later stole drugs from a children''s charity and I''ll defend Obama. - Reply to this comment
- Hey Repubs, here me out for a second.
I think we as Americans have been so used to failure for the last 8 years that we no longer are able to recognize SUCCESS when it''s staring at us right in the FACE!
I mean when you look at Barrack H. Obama you are looking at the epitomy of SUCCESS!
Think about it. - Reply to this comment

- Where does the buck stop?
Forget Bush and Cheney, where does the buck stop? If the generation that went to war and saved us from fascism and pulled us from the depths of the depression is the ''''''''''''''''Greatest generation%u2019 then who are we? What have we done as a generation, how will we be remembered? Will we be remembered as the ones that ignored the fall, as the ones that worried more about our taxes than our fellow man? That passed a crippled planet and massive debt on to the next generation? What will history call our generation?

We''''ll be remembered as the smart generation that didn''''t fall for a bunch of ********* spewed by an Islamofast hugging bastward that promised the world and hadn''''t a ghosts chance in hell of accomplishing it.

For myself, I sure wouldn''t want to be part of that generation that sent 4100 (so far) off to die because they swallowed a pack of lies, hook, line and sinker.
Much rather be part of the generation that saw through it from the get go - and elects a leader who did the same. - Reply to this comment

- The insular thinking of the republicans is leading them down a one way road to extinction. They have now been reduced to pitting people against each other: black vs. white, american vs. european. For all there talk about God and the bible, the republicans are sure poor examples to follow. Helping your follow man and working in harmony with one another was part of Jesus''s work I always thought. Maybe the GOP uses a different bible than the rest of us. A republican told me yesterday in utter exasperation - "I don''t give a *** what other people think about the U.S., we can do what we want! We''re the U.S." I was totally blown away by her hated. Maybe she can try that sort of reasoning on her neighbors down the street. I wonder sometimes if republicans even have a soul. They seem to just crave war and killing and violence. BARBARIANS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- "How can we possibly find honor in using the fate of our servicemen to score political advantage in Washington? There is no pride to be had in such efforts. We are at war, a hard and challenging war, and we do no service for the best of us-those who fight and risk all on our behalf-by playing politics with their service."
John McCain.
McCain flip-flops again.
In June, McCain apologized for using the image of Gen. David Petraeus in a political mailer, saying that politicization of the military would "not happen again" in his campaign. - Reply to this comment

This may be just a small little thing, but has anybody noticed that kids aren''t getting drafted, then hauled off to die in an immoral illegal war. My generation put a stop to that idiocy. No draft, no more. - Reply to this comment

Anyone that can spell the name correctly and can get to google like I did can find that info out.
Unlike some, I actually look at people''s references. Because I don''t believe I''ll be shocked. Of course the source has to be reputable - and their political persuasions need to be taken into account.
See, I believe that our government is not doing some nefarious outlandish deed which would require a huge conspiracy. For two basic reasons. Neither which has anything to do with what they tell me.
1) When in North America and you hear for hoof beats - look for horses, not zebras.
2) Any three people can keep a secret, as long as two are dead. - Reply to this comment

- FYI - When you break out the ''HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA" you lose.
Face it, these people are incapable of connecting the dots, if they were they would not be right wing authoritarian followers that need to be told who to fear and who to hate. You are asking way too much of the sheep.
Right Wing Authoritarian Followers and How They Threaten America
John Dean recently had an epiphany when he found the data from years of academic studies into the conservative mind. There is a psychological profile of right wing conservatives that centers on the need for a strong authoritarian figure to tell them what to do. Dean explores this in his new book, "Conservatives Without Conscience". He examines the role of fear-mongering as a conservative force to unite the People and retain power, a thesis that was already widely known. But it is the look at the conservative minds as they relate to authority that is new here. I''''ve often wondered why Bush followers don''''t see what he has done and abandon him. Apparently, there is a deep psychological need for authority that overwhelms individual thought. All this time I''''ve wondered why so it is quite a relief to have an explanation that makes sense.

- taotxzen - the book is in paperback. How long has it been out ? You have a copy - look at the date. You are claiming he wasn''t taken care of during the surge.
Or do I need to go to Amazon ?
I think your book is just a wee bit dated. It would almost have to be, since he was there in the intital invasion. - Reply to this comment

Liberals and progressives are essentially anti-authority while conservatives are willing followers of the authoritarian personality. Fascinating stuff.
Dean doesn''t believe we are at a state of fascism yet but he says, "we''re so close to it." These authoritarian followers "stay loyal way too long." The current group - Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Bush - have taken this authoritarianism "way past where anyone''s ever taken it in the United States." He included an anecdote about Gordon Liddy who told him he knew too much about President Nixon and asked what street corner the White House wanted him to go to and be shot. As Dean says. "That''s a loyal right wing authoritarian follower in action at the extreme." - Reply to this comment
- McCain is going all out to remind undecideds and independents that he is like Bush Jr. as he uses our troops for his own political gain.

- taotxzen - oh pa-leeze Silentpatriot.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I can create a web site that will make your mom the worst Dictator since Hitler.
And you give credence to this jerk ?
You have FDS....
FDS - Fox Derangement Syndrome.
The name for those far left posters that can''t stand the fact that Fox News has both a Republican point of view, as well as the usual Democratic point of view, (as every other news media has only the latter.)
But, be kind folks - those people with FDS can''t help themselves... It''s hard to take on reality when it doesn''t fit your agenda.
First there is denial, then claims of ''unfair'', then a great deal of gnashing of teeth, followed by finger pointing, and at some point the slow realization that it IS fair and more balanced dawns on them.
At this point the FDS victim has moved from far left to just liberal. Not all make it. Some are too firmly entrenched in their denial of the facts.
Have pity. They expect it. It is an entitlement. It''s a Democrat ''thing''. - Reply to this comment
