- Conservatives don''t know whether to sheet or go blind on this one. A prayer (not to Allah) left in the Wailing Wall. And a rather humble prayer at that. Their best complaint is that it was an opportunistic plant. I guess they would have us believe that he refrained from praying to Satan just for this possibility. Ha

- Bottom line, religion has NO PLACE in politics. Nobody knows the score with regard to God anyway, so why even throw it in the mix?
Besides, didn''t anyone learn anything from 911? The catalyst behind that attack was *** religion with terrorism serving as a byproduct. In other words religion is a very dangerous thing and should be abolished if I had my way.

- We will never know whether Obama thought his note would be retrieved and made public. But I tend to believe that the prayer was heartfelt. His concern for his family, considering all of the crazies and bigots, must be a continual concern. I think he signaled that when the interview that included his kids got more attention than he expected, and he was emphatic that there would be no more interviews. If it was self-serving, as the cynics and neocons would have us believe, it was still well written and articulate. That''s refreshing after eight years of a President that is functionally illiterate.

- Anti-Obamamans, Republicans, are now going after Senator Prayers?
Unbelievable. - Reply to this comment
- "It''s inappropriate that the prayers of a person at the Western Wall should become a subject of public knowledge at all," said Jonathan Rosenblum, a Jerusalem-based analyst of the religious community and director of the Orthodox Am Ehad think-tank. "There is a rabbinic prohibition against reading other people''s private communications and certainly anyone who goes to the wall expects that those communication will be protected."

- Shame of the State of Israel for allowing this intrusion of the most private of affairs.

- Barack Obama knew full well that his "private" note would be read by the whole world...Just another opportunity for an opportunist....

You were born a Muslim, or so says your Holy Book the Koran. Obama is a Christian. As for you, Muslim, leave this country. - Reply to this comment
- Barack Obama was born a MUSLIM!
No one disputes that fact. So he looks RIDICULOUS when he puts on a yarmulke and acts like a Jew. I laughed my @ss off when I saw that photo. Just click on "Photos" on the left side of this article, and you will laugh too.
Will Obama wrap a towel around his head and grab an AK-47 when he meets with Hamas? - Reply to this comment
- More than what a "might be Obama''s prayer" could tell us about Obama''s religious beliefs is spelled out in the July 21 issue of Newsweek. The cover of this issue bears the title "What he (Obama) believes". The article I mean is "Finding his faith", by Lisa Miller and Richard Wolffe (pp. 27-32). It should be required reading for anyone who feels entitled to voice slanted opinions on Obama''s religious beliefs.

- Has CBS found anyone who was surprised that the note was made public? Obama is a classic textbook example of a politician.

- No, Bush is the one to make America look silly. At least Obama isn''''''''t scaring the president of Germany half to death by trying to give her a massage!

- Israel would have gotten a hold of that note one way or another. If this Jewish student didn''t do it they''d send some secret agent to do it.
These people don''t trust anyone as if we were still living in the 1930''s. That''s why they keep on spying on the US no matter how many times they get caught.

- then pray tell why don''t the europeans that are trying to get elected in their countries come over here to give us those warm fuzzy feelings? or why don''t they leave handwritten prayers in the national cathedral for our people to find and have published? and don''t forget the cover of this week''s people mag is "obamas at home"--when do we stop this insanity and get back to what the real issue is--this is a presidential campaign, between two candidates that technically don''t even have their respective parties official nomination yet--instead this is turning into cotton candy coverage--it''s big, it''s fluffy, but it''s also a lot of empty calories. or, if you''re mccain you''re given about as much coverage and enthusiam as a box of grape-nuts--i miss the old days of actual political campaigning--at least the mudslinging and empty promises were kept on this side of the pond.

- Whatever happened to us? This nation ONCE believed so much in privacy that a member of the press was attacked for invading the privacy of the future President FDR. Once we respected privacy and the right of people to keep certain thing out of the public. It seems when people like Jerry Falwell came along that all left. I''''d like to see it come back!

Q: Who pulled the prayer from the wall?
A: It said the note was removed from the wall by a student at a Jewish seminary immediately after Obama left.
Obama has nothing to worry about...he''s got this election locked up tight. It''s almost like he KNEW his prayer would be printed and made sure it sounded humble....could he...nahhhh...that would be too manipulative...he wouldn''t...nahhhh...not Obama..the next King of the USA!!! I refuse to believe this man, who makes the weak toss their panties and the feeble minded blind to his real purpose, could be so reckless this close to the finish line...no...I won''t...long live the King. - Reply to this comment
- Possibly the next president of the USA writes something on a piece of paper sticks it into a wall, a tree, a stump, or hides it under a rock. And he doesn%u2019t think someone will ever ever read it. He may not be quick enough to debate someone but his advisors are not stupid. There was not one thought in his mind that this was a prayer, it was a political statement to be publicized that did just what it was intended to do, put Christian and Barack in the same sentence.
