redbds,

I know how to define a recession and I know how easy it is to manipulate. It only takes one thing - UNDERestimating inflation.

Close enough. That is what the article is saying or implying. If you can''''t see that then you must bo one of those liberals that believe Obama is already President.

If you think that liberals want Obama as president you obviously don''t know any. I am a constitutionalist, or liberal as they are called and I don''t want him in there. I would prefer Ron Paul but of course the neocons and NWO as well as elitists are afraid of losing their power and money.

Who decides whether we are in a recession? Oh yeah, it''''s the same people who benefit from not being in a recession. If you believe the government''''s numbers, I got some beachfront property for you in Arizona.

According to widespread definition, a recession occurs when real growth or the gross domestic product is negative for two or more successive quarters of a year. Even liberal economists cannot point to evidence of that. Although they are tryint their best to make the voter think that things are much worse than they really are.

whatithink,

You''d think McCain would be a great student of flying since he finished 894th out of 899 students in his graduating class at Annapolis.

Smirk5,

McCain does know how to win wars. He supported the Vietcong by dropping bombs on 168 U.S. sailors. He wins wars by getting behind the cockpit of an airplane. He''s sure to kill somebody.

"A surge is really a counterinsurgency made up of a number of components ... I''m not sure people understand that ''surge'' is part of a counterinsurgency,"
John McCain

Wrong, wrong, wrong. A liberal media would easily point out that McCain is wrong here.

and the economy is still tanking and we have a record high unemployment - Historical history for president Bush and the GOP.

The econemy is down slightly. It is hardly tanking. We are not even officially in a recession. Unemployment is up slightly but, not at record levels. Other than oil prices driving up inflation and the price of other goods the econemy is still pretty strong.

Haven''t you heard, 28% of us believe that history is going to vindicate them. The idolizing and renaming (ala Reagan) of public facilities in the name of Bush has already began. San Francisco wants to name their sewage treatment plant after him.

Old "I know how to win wars" has to think the Battle of the Bulge was a counterinsurgency strategy by the Germans if he thinks a surge is really part of counterinsurgency strategy.

His campaign strategy to act like he is already the President is starting to work. Pretty soon with help of the liberal media everyone will be brain washed to think that he is already the President and forget that he hasn''''t been elected yet.
------------------------------------------------------

Right. And maybe CBS News will perform some voodoo video editing to make the "liberal" candidate look so much better - you know, to provide "balance" to the way they made the inept McSame appear like he knows anything in Couric''s interview.

Everyone knows the surge has ended. But, McCain says a surge is really part of counterinsurgency strategy. If McCain isn''''t BSing, then he''''s saying the counterinsurgency strategy is over.

Posted by Smirk5

The counterinsurgency plan actually started under Clinton, who it turns out was smart enough to ignore PNAC''s letter and NOT invade Iraq.

redbds,

No where does it simply say that McCain is wrong. And he is. The Sunni Awakening began before the surge and Mr. Straightalk can''t just admit it. He continues to dig himself deeper.

If the media was liberal, the title of the article might be, "McCain Gets Another Key Iraq War Fact Wrong."

Earlier, campaigning in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., McCain credited the recent $10-a-barrel drop in the price of oil to President Bush''s lifting of a presidential ban on offshore drilling, an action he has been advocating in his presidential campaign.

The GOP still thinks that the American people are all fools.

"McCain and Bush are synonymous in the world, and Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific all hate Bush and consider him a criminal for invading Iraq. Again, no difference, same failed policies.
