But Says Ill. Senator Is Wrong On Opposing School Vouchers
- When Bush coined the phrase "No child left behind" he didn''t tell us that he was sending them to the Iraq war.

- Republicans: The party that wouldn''t even exist at all anymore except for their platform of hating gay people and anyone who doesn''t subscribe to their particular brand of religion. These days, being a "conservative" has nothing to do with being conservative fiscally, it just means you hate minorities, love war, fetuses (until they are born) and have no sense of fiscal responsibility whatsoever. The last eight years have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Over SIX years of war. Civil rights breached by our commander in chief. Internationally recognized torture sanctioned by the White House. Two invaded and currently occupied countries. Hundreds of thousands dead, including OVER 4500 American soldiers. Billions of our tax dollars spent, and yes, are still being spent to this very moment.
Iraq, which had NOTHING to do with 9/11, is now an occupied country which will implode when we get out of it, whether that happens one, two, ten or five hundred years from now. A society that CHOOSES to be ruled by religion cannot become a democracy; it can only be a theocracy with voting cards.
Bin Laden still lives. The mastermind of 9/11 still walks free.
The one, simple word for this is: failure. No amount of deception, indignation or wailing by republicons can change these facts.
Failure of Bush. Failure of Cheney. Failure of the republicans.
Time for a change. - Reply to this comment
- Minuteman 1 ignores the facts that the Bush neo con men allowed the WTC to be set up for the planned demolition and allowed the attacks to try to cover the traces. Oh, and them covered it up with the help of their paid buddies on the 911 commission. What does he take us for, ignorant stupid Americans? Well, maybe he''s right.

- I''''m not an expert on the issue and just gave you what I heard from discussions, so you will have to do more research, but it is a great way to help minorities avoid being forced to attend a failing local school.
Not sure, I think private schools may also be able to accept the vouchers in lieu of tuition, so everything would remain much the same, except failed schools would have to pack it up
but overall, the goal is to give parents a choice on where to send their children....republican are for school choice....please vote for Mccain....bye now

What it does is suckks the money OUT of the public school system, leaving the kids that ARE STILL FORCED TO ATTEND THEM, with EVEN WORSE SCHOOLS THAN BEFORE!!!
All this does, is siphons money out of the public school system, and gives it to PRIVATE CORPORATIONS!!
Not surprisingly, republicans are VERY GLAD to take taxpayer money and funnel it into PRIVATELY run businesses, even if some children''s education suffers because of it.
THAT is why Obama opposes it, and McCain supports it! - Reply to this comment
- Does this mean Obama has to praise McCain at a NASCAR event??

What BS! I have employees who turned down the insurance plan I offered BECAUSE they can take their child to an Emergency Room and get their TEMP TAKEN!!! And then the county hospital charges back to Medicaid THE COST OF AN ER ROOM VISIT!
ARE YOU NUTS? That you think I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY AN ER VISIT TO TAKE A CHILD''S TEMPERATURE when the parent WILL NOT enroll them in SCHIP and pay even a minimum fee for it???
I pay 75% of my employee''s insurance premium and offer assistance to get their kids enrolled in SCHIP! And they REFUSE to even pay that much because they can go to the ER and get it FREE! And then YOU and I have to pay their health care at ER rates!
It''s INSANE! - Reply to this comment

- I think you have been fed a bunch of lies by your party, making you feel all good and glowing with the thought that Obama will save the world, wake up lib, we currently can''''t afford squat

Taht is funny coming from a repub that believes we should be spending 150 billion a year in Iraq, Which would fund obama''s plan. The lies I remember is the lies that sent us to war.
It has been the repubs and the medical industrila complex taht have been spinning a yarn for you to believe. You have bought it hook line and sinker. - Reply to this comment
- isn''t it great to see this... despite the bickering, and occasional namecalling, ... that we can come to this forum, from the left and the right, and throw our opinions and vehemently defend them..... & these two jack@$$ez running for prez.... we''re lucky, relatively speaking.
