I agree!! One MAJOR Difference though.. BILL, unlike all the rest, has admitted it was NOT well negotiated. No one is saying we should have open trade...it just needed people negotiating it that had the well being of All American''s at heart when they sat down. THE other members of the G-7 ALL did didn''t they?? - Reply to this comment

After having followed this series of posts, I''d suggest that:
1. You are basing your comments solely on what''s best for your employer---the company you work for! As a result, ---
2. You''re not being ''open-minded'' toward the legitimate comments from the other posters! Even though, you''re intelligent enough to see the valid points that they''re raising!
If you need to turn ''a blind eye'' toward others legitimate comments in order to maintain your own sanity at the job you do---that''s OK! We understand.
But, don''t arbitrarily attempt to rationalize away the many valid comments that some posters have presented to you during this discussion! You dishonor yourself to do so. Take care. - Reply to this comment

- Does anyone belief in freedom anymore? That America is a land of immigrants, that the consumer not the government should decide what we purchase, that the employer not the government should decide whom we hire... And why do people trust our politicians to act in a way that benefits us more than they trust themselves?
I am obviously alone on this one, so I guess the answer is that people don''''t believe in these things. Feels to me like people here would prefer the Soviet Union to pre-Roosevelt America...
Now look!! I''ve sat back for THIRTY YEARS and listened to you people rag on American Workers. WHEN the Consumer is buying something made by FORCED Labor how the helll do you people suggest they compete with that?? YOU LOSERS are just plain SICK!! The American Worker is the BEST in the world and IF allowed to compete on a LEVEL Playing Field they will beat ANY in the world... ALL they ask is to level the field... FORCED LABOR isn''t real LEVEL Sparky!! Sieg Heil Bush - Reply to this comment

And people buy the widgets even though it is impossible to add value to them domestically? ...

Maybe it''s "impossible" for YOU because you''re a BAD MANAGER.
Maybe we need managers with more imagination than that. Your kind of thinking is what we''ve been doing for over eight years. The result - $4/gallon for gasoline, a stock market that dropped 3,000 points in six months, bank failures, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are near insolvency. Not to mention the looming problems with Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
But you''re content to just SIT BACK and say "THERE''S NOTHING WE CAN DO - IT''S IMPOSSIBLE!"
Sounds like YOU''RE the WHINER. - Reply to this comment
- And once again, McCain is on the wrong side of the issue. Is there ANYTHING the people of the US can do to convince the GOP that they are there to serve the American public and their constituents? FACTS: Americans are overwhelmingly against the war, against NAFTA in it''s current implementation etc. etc. McCain continues to campaign on the Bush "I don''t care what the people think is best for them, I''m the decider" approach.

- It doesn''''t matter how you spin this because the widgets weren''''t produce here they do not count as part of our GDP, they count as part of Chinas (which is now enjoying a growth rate 10% annually).

It COUNTS when our KIDS are facing a RECORD Debt and NO JOB to pay it with. AMERICAN''s and I mean YOUR neighbors and YOUR friends are going to be hurt and hurt badly in the near future IF we do NOT turn around this rush to the bottom. The ONLY way American Workers can compete with what some want them is for them to fall all the way to THIRD WORLD status.... THAT we must NEVER allow! Our Fathers fought and died so WE, the American People, could have a better life. People like John McCain WILL take away ANY chance our kids will be able to do the same. Shame really that SOME are so blind to what WE go through out here!! What it''s like TODAY when you try to raise a family. - Reply to this comment
