Former Bush Adviser A No-Show At Hearing On Alleged Political Pressure At Justice Dept.
- Posted by hadenough43
My thinking is that if GWB pardons, he will cement a Guinness-record-type Democrat landslide, and open a door for his own prosecyuion, with no hope of a pardon.
On the other hand, many Democrats who, even after knowing there was no "clear and present danger", continued to allow the military hostilities to continue, will, after Bush''s trials for treasons and war crimes, have to face the possibility of their own roles being called for examination.
So I say arrest Rove now, and if Bush pardons him, then add that pardon to the list of Bush''s corruptions, force him to pardon Rove before election day, and then let the now incumbent Democrats (not the future ones) know that if the keep the concept of bringing Bush to justice "off the table", we will then push for their own accounting. - Reply to this comment
- There is the very real danger that Bush will pardon Rove before 1/2009. If he does, I hope that Obama can reverse this pardon.

- I am very confident that Rove, in 2/2009, will either appear and testify under oath fully or he will serve jail time. I look forward to seeing him goose stepped (ala the Enron excutives) down a line of waiting reporters and other media. I just hope he is not given the chance to voluntarily surrender at the Justice Department.

- I wonder if the CIA will put a hit on this fat rapping traitor, let''s not forget that it was he who unmasked a CIA operative to the media. That fat arse should be blown far into the sky.

- brianbwb, If the committee truly wants blood from Rove, the would be best served postponing enforcement of contempt charges a democrat is in office. No republican president will be able to withstand the pressure to pardon Rove with all the crying of the neocons.
But if this committee is playing politics and wants to dirty GWBs'''' legacy further, they''''ll pursue Rove full force which will elicit a pardon, making Bush look far worse than Clinton when it comes to pardons.

Nonsense, Bush''s legacy is already filthy - he would pardon Rove in a heartbeat. Legacy be damned. He knows he''s history, and he clings to the pathetic notion that his legacy is tied up with Irag turning into some sort of Jeffersonian Democracy in the future. If they prosecute and convict, sentence Rove now, then he''d be pardoned and go scott free, You want that?? - Reply to this comment
- CBS NEWS...Why hasn''t Citizen Karl Rove been arrested? Why aren''t you calling for his arrest? Why aren''t you pushing for his arrest?

- Amazing how much this law and order administration has to hide. I still wonder what was discussed in the secret meetings at the White House between Cheney and the CEOs of the oil companies before we were rewarded with the $4 per gallon gas. It is very likely that now the oil company executives are the speculators driving up the price of oil. We should not be surprised by Presidential pardons for Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney and oil company execs before anyone admits to guilt, just like Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon. That is the legacy of the Republican party.

- I can''t figure out smirky boy ROVE, during the Clinton administration hearings on trivial issues like ***, he was the leader of the pack of howling republicans calling for anyone with a pulse, to kangaroo court hearings controlled by drooling republicans.
Now, when the shoe is on the other foot, they are whining and crying foul over major constitutional issues.
Pathetic cowards is what they are. Come November, Republicans are in the dustbin of history and they know it. Americans have had enough. - Reply to this comment
- Rove doesn''t want to testify. Looks like he has something to hide.

Unity of the Oppressed. Join the Pride Parade.
OBAMA 08!"
Hurry, because your usual home in the Republican party is about to lose power, hopefully forever.
Back to the subject, since when is a civilian allowed to ignore subpoenas? Rove is now a civilian, and as such can be arrested, and contempt charges can now be added to the list of accusations for which he can be jailed. - Reply to this comment

i see you ascribe to the childrens sunday school version of the Bible....that Jesus paid the price in full
(with respects)
jesus paid the price in ''full''?
then why did he tell peter
"take up thy cross and follow me"
does that sound like jesus paid the price in full?
you need to move to the adult classes and the milk and try eating some Biblical meat - Reply to this comment
- Hey NEOCONS, who was guarding the fort when 911 happened. An incompetent republican president, an incompetent republican vice president, an incompetent republican senate, an incompetent republican house of representatives, and incompetent cabinet members chosen by Bush. The worst disaster on the American soil happened while Republicans were running the country. So explain to me how they have made us safer.

And since there''''s some rather large communities of former Nazi Germans in South America they''''d be among their brethren.

Saudi Government Daily Editorial:''Bush the Nazi''
Did President Bush''s Grandfather Collaborate with the Nazis?
"[The British newspaper] The Guardian published what it contends are documents incriminating the president''s grandfather of collaboration with the Nazis and bringing [Adolf] Hitler to power, and that his wealth was an outcome of agreements with the Nazis, and this wealth was passed on to [his] children and grandchildren in America. - Reply to this comment
