The last 7 years has sent a clear and echoing message. If your a terrorist, you will be hunted down and killed.

Posted by cbville70

And who decides who the "terrorists" are? And what''s the definition? There''s no agreement as to what the word means and, I hate to say it, but I suspect that any definition worth a *** would make many of America''s so-called "allies" (esp. Israel) terrorist entities.

Every Democrat who voted for this is UNAMERICAN TRASH.
I hope they all live long enough to bury their children.
I expect Republicans to betray America, but this is absolutely beyond the pale.

Absolutely right. It is incredibly disappointing that Obama voted in favor of it. He''s so interested in attracting the neo-con vote, he''s forgetting all the people who got him this far. Shame on Obama. What a disappointing day for democracy. Another great victory for Osama Bin Laden.

With our freedoms being taken away from us in the name of "preventing" another 9/11, what on earth are US soldiers supposed to be fighting for??? Israel???

NICE NAME and I CAN TELL YOU:

So I guess the USS Cole doesn''''t count in your 8 years of Clinton''''s presidential terms. Last time I checked, that happened while he was in office. By the way...What did Bill Clinton do about the 2 terrorist attacks on this country during his presidency?
YOU''''VE BEEN TOLD.

apples and oranges.. i said ON THE CONTINENTAL US. USS Cole was not on US land... it was out in the sea... btw, if you really must bring that up as "PROOF" the CONS are better, then what about the US embassy attack yesterday? HUH? Last i checked BUSH was in office.

Anyhow.. what did clinton do?? you tell me.. .the REPUBLICAN CONGRESS tried to stop Clinton all the way!! Even your beloved LEADER mister VP D(CK Cheney said going into Iraq would end up in a quagmire... oopsie, looks like he was right!

This is nothing short of Treason and Subversion of the Constitution and Rule of Law. Anyone voting for this "Legislation", is Guilty of Conspiricy to Subvert the Constitution, and should be Arrested, Charged, Impeached, Imprisoned, Tried, and Hung by the Neck until Dead.
Traitors Deserve to Die, Period.

Exactly, the US did the attacking... and in so doing, gave the "terrorists" more reason to hate us.. and as a result, there were MORE terrorists created by our actions.

Posted by CANYOUTELLME

I don''t care if they hate us. This country does not carry out it''s policy contingent on terrorists hating us. Since 9/11 we have hunted the terrorists and have KILLED them. This country is safer becuase of that and the message our nation has sent out has changed over the last 7 years. We used to appease and aid the "enemy of our worst enemy". Policy like that is what led to people like OBL coming to power. The last 7 years has sent a clear and echoing message. If your a terrorist, you will be hunted down and killed.

What are you talking about? we''''ve been attacked and 4100 soldiers are DEAD due to those attacks. That''''s more than died at the WTC. In addition, when Clinton was president, we were not attacked by Al Qaeda after the 1993 WTC bombing for 8 years. If you think they''''re not planning another attack, then you''''ve got another thing coming.

The Bush administration brought the wiretapping back under the FISA court''s authority only after The New York Times revealed the existence of the secret program.

"This president broke the law," declared Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis.

The Great Emperor Bush II is highly pleased that the evil, cowardly Whimpo-crats have decided to join their stupidly-loyal neocon Fascist Nazi bretheran in Congress and pass the NON-PRIVACY BILL. Even the presumptive Whimpo-cratic nominee for the Oval Office throne voted for it, no explanation required!

More importantly for the Great Emperor, the evil, cowardly Whimpo-crats have passed the part of the bill which protects telecommunication companies from legal action when they are told to break the Fourth Amendment by the Great Emperor.

The Great Emperor sees this, as do the neocon Fascist Nazis, as a great victory for HIS government and proof that, once again, the Whimpo-crats are exactly what their name indicates: WHIMPS! It proves to everyone that the Great Emperor Bush II STILL IS the "GREAT DECIDER" knowing what is best for everyone and "protecting" everyone everywhere from those nasty "terrrrrrrorists" even if it means tearing up the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to do it!

Strange, didn''t someone named Adolph Hitler say that back in Germany in 1933?

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!!!!!!
sig heil, DEFINITELY MORE OF THE SAME, McCain!!!!!

Senators and Reps who voted against this bill should be defeated when they try to run again. They do not have the security of this country as a priority!

To this I can only hope that our future representatives will hold our safety (their job) in mind when these situations arise.

I''m also for term limits, which would help to assure this last point to a very minimum.

Although I agree with you on the matter of the importance of our soldiers, seeing as how I plan to be one very soon, if my GED would stop being an issue, it was in fact the US that did the attacking. No less tragic, either way.

Exactly, the US did the attacking... and in so doing, gave the "terrorists" more reason to hate us.. and as a result, there were MORE terrorists created by our actions. This war has not made us safer... it has made us weaker... not to mention it has taken about 50% of our dollar value out of the American dollar and helped to drive up the price of oil 3fold. So, yeah, we weren''t attacked in the continental US by Al Q, but we were sure attacked by our own gov''t and we all have to pay for it.

Here''''s the deal. In the future, telecoms will have to abide by the laws. Yes, this means that they will be able to "spy" on you, but only if the proper steps have been taken. If, for some reason, a step is skipped, immunity will not be possible.

As far as precedence, this bill prohibits the government from invoking war powers or other authorities to supersede surveillance rules in the future.

And in response to the statement of representatives, George W. Bush was elected as our executive representative. At what point has he done anything that met with your beliefs? Also, I live in Alabama. As long as I have been alive and aware of politics, I have not been represented.

Theoretically, you''re right... but what''s to prevent them from passing another bill making it retroactive yet again? The law was already broken... it was not supposed to be possible to begin with. I don''t think we''re ever going to agree on this point.

As to not being represented... i hear you. I lived in South Carolina during the last election and voted for Kerry (i''m a big time democrat). Unfortunately, 80% of the state is republican and they all wanted Bush whole heartedly. I LOVE the people there because they''re all so dang friendly and warm, but their political beliefs are just ridiculous... and here we are.

Correct. Instead we are attacked by militant terrorists of the Christian sect from inside our own country.

Correct! We also have not been attacked since we chose to take the offensive on the war against militant islamist terrorists.

BTW, 4100 are recorded dead in action. How about those were NOT COUNTED because they were flown out of Iraq while critically injured and then died outside of Iraq? those are not counted in the war-dead. Did you know that? How about the 10''s of thousands of maimed soldiers? They were ATTACKED. How about the hundreds of thousands of soldiers with PTSD now? They were ATTACKED. Just because it''s not on the soil of the continental US, doesn''t mean we weren''t attacked.
