As SO many whom this Nazi tried to deny the most basic freedoms to were enjoying Independence day this piece of Human Scum was cashing it in! What a great day! Now he must live for ever with HISTORY... History is what people have written and said through their lives that have effected the lives of others. People in future generations will look back on the statements and actions of this little creature and recoil at the words. Thus will the life of a true Nazi be remembered. Sieg Heil Jessie. Good bye forever!!

I like folks like Jesse who wield the public authority sword in the sheath of integrity. They are a blessing to be ruled by. Not so by any other,.....then we moan.

Helms [when asked how he''d like people to remember him]: "I would like for them to say, ''Well, he did the best he could.'' If they say that, that''d be enough."

He did the worst he could.

"Hey John McCain...
If you do not disavow your 20 year associations with this vile America hating bigot then you will lose this election buddy. And that''s a fact!!!" Posted by whitemale08

He cannot disavow the bigots, they form the core of his voting bloc, and at any rate, McSame cannot disavow being a part of the same Republican party that was given its anti social direction by the views and strategies of people like Helms.

McSame will probably not comment on this one until he is forced to, then there will be the "didn''t agree with some of his views, but he was a great American" BS.

I still remember fondly the Senate debate over making Martin Luther King''s birthday a national holiday, when Helms tried a filibuster against such.

Ted Kennedy was on the other side (as always), and Helms reminded Kennedy that King had been wiretapped by the FBI under JFK''s administration by saying "Your argument is with your DEAD brother who was President, and your DEAD brother who was Attorney General."

Anyone willing to try to gain leverage over an adversary in a debate by reminding that person of family members being murdered is a rare bird. Jesse, you will be missed.

Unlike many of his Republican counterparts, former Sen. Jesse Helms never changed! Known for his racial politics and deeply held convictions, a divisive, polarizing figure in American Politics leaves the stage.

If the world renowned art school of Vienna accepted Adolph Hitler''s application... the world would have been completely different, and millions of lives would have been spared, and hundreds of millions would have been made better.

Damm that corner hardware store for not hiring Mr. Helms 70 years ago!

Dying on the Fourth of July is the only patriotic thing Jesse (KKK) Helms ever did.
Pity it was 86 years too late.

Helms did more to make the country great than even our founding fathers. He understood that there are two classes of people, those who rule and those who do your bidding. He would have returned America to the former glory of the Roman Empire had his stem cell therapy gone so horribly wrong.

I can''t say Jesse''s passing makes me shed a tear. This man''s passing just might be very symbolic because it signals the end of the old segregated South in many ways. These old timers with antiquated ideas on race and *** are passing away and a new way is coming into its own where the color of ones skin does not matter any more and this is something that brings me great joy!

Not a Lincoln Republican to be sure. Jesse embodied th reason that the Democratic Party and later the entire nation needed to drastically change.

His blatant appeal to white racism to win elections is the epitome of his memory for me.

I prayed for his departure from the Senate and will not shed one tear for this Political Dinosaur.
