The democrats are proud too! They''''re renting a football stadium so it will fit Obama''''s head!!!

I heard the republicans were renting a bathroom stall in the minneapolis airport to have mccains acceptance speech. Not for what you were thinking, the speech will be a lot of BS

old300d,

We can stay another year, 10 years, 100 years, whatever.
Iraq will have to finish that civil war that has been started. If leave tomorrow, they''ll resume it. If we leave in 100 years, they''ll resume it. The decision we have to make is how much money and time we''re willing to waste before we figure out we can''t stop the inevitable. Appeasing some former Sunni enemies that had been killing our men, by paying them off with money and weapons may buy more time politically to continue this loser of a war, but the writing is on the wall. Eventually, the occupier has to come home because money eventually is more than mere fantasy. The Iraqis are already at home and they''ve got time on their side. The fiscal reality of a neverending occupation in Iraq will rear it''s head at some point.

Anyone here think McCain has the actual courage to embrace Bush at the GOP convention? Didn''t think so.

Hi Smirk5 ,

Yea we made a big mess over there. Destroyed their army and police because we thought they had WMD.

We have to get the army and police back up over there. We are doing that. Obama won''t back out helping clean up the mess we made.

Imagine if Roosevelt invaded Guatemala in WWII and occupied it as Germany and Japan regrouped and you''ll see why most Americans are mad at Bush and feel the Iraq war was a big mistake.

Ahhh, ok...I just changed my registration to Independent...I just can''t hack the DNC''s primary process this year. It looked like the Chicago mafia to me.

I think it''s time for the DNC to revise and get back to reality in their processes...

old300d,
Things are getting under control over there? We''re spending 3 billion a week to keep a lid on a civil war while Al-Qaeda and the Taliban continue to increase in strength in Afghanistan. Iran also continues to enjoy it''s added strength thanks to the horrible foreign policy blunder known as the Iraq War. Saddam''s gone. No WMDs found. No serious links to Al-Qaeda. Yet, we continue to blow 3 billion a week on it. That''s failure through and through. The reason we invaded was in error. We''re spending a fortune over there. Our enemies strengthen as we blow our cash. And you call that getting things under control?

Obama has to face the facts that''s all. Things are getting under control over there and it appears that John McCain was right.

Obama told the lefty dems what they wanted to hear. He got their votes. Now he has to get the whole countries votes so he has to change his story.

Remember when Rev. Wright said Obama is saying what he needs to say to get elected ?

I thought Denton was a red county...especially with only about 750 democrats voting.

Actually Rowdy, the Democrats are pretty active in this county. Currently, they''re out numbered, but are very agressively pursuing new voters. BTW, I''m NOT a democrat; I''m still registered as a republican, but havn''t voted for one for president since George H.W. Bush in "88". Perot got my votes in 92 & 96. First dem I ever voted for president was Gore, then Kerry. The later one was an "anti" Bush vote. I am a moderate, or a centrist, not a lib. That''s probably why you and I aren''t too far apart on some things (other than McCain/Obama)

I''''m not fully on board with Obama, but am fully against McCain. I''''ll probably hold my nose like I did in "04" when I pull the lever.

John McCain 3 days ago, befuddled and not remembering a simple position but reflexively assuming he must be in total agreement with Bush.

Q: "What about grants for *** education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush%u2019s policy, which is just abstinence?"

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) "Ahhh. I think I support the president%u2019s policy."

Q: "So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?"

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) "You%u2019ve stumped me."

Q: "I mean, I think you%u2019d probably agree it probably does help stop it?"

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) "Are we on the Straight Talk express? I%u2019m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I%u2019m sure I%u2019ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception...I%u2019m sure I%u2019m opposed to government spending on it, I%u2019m sure I support the president%u2019s policies on it."

I wonder if he learned this stupidity while crashing in Vietnam. He learned his geopolitics that way according to Cons.

Happy July 4th weekend. After reading all your posts, this is one Texan who can honestly say he does not have a candidate in this race.

I respect your opinion, just don''''t agree with you. BTW, did you ever take on Vortex like element51 asked you to do? I thought that was pretty pathetic of him/her/it to ask you to fight their fight.

I thought so too...but no...not really, Vortex doesn''t bother me much...moldy cold over there in Scotland, lol

"In a 1998 interview, Osama bin Laden %u2014 the terrorist organizer of 9/11 who still roams free %u2014 listed as one of his many grievances against the U.S. that Americans %u201Chave stolen $36 trillion from Muslims%u201D by purchasing oil from Persian Gulf countries at low prices. The real price of a barrel of oil should be $144, bin Laden demanded."

Bush Jr. got Bin Laden''s mission accomplished.
