- Also, when I look at John McCain, I see a man who will keep in place all the huge tax cuts for the super rich and do nothing to alleviate the burdens of low and middle class Americans.
John McCain will keep the Patriot Act intact and that act is unconstitutional because it permits any of us U.S. Citizens to be plucked off the street without probable cause and be held without knowing what the charges against us are.
Senator Obama understands constitutional law better than Senator McCain. I believe that Senator Obama would restore civil liberties to the people of this country.
As between Senator Obama and Senator McCain, I truly believe Senator Obama is the least lousy solution. As someone once said, sometimes in politics, that is the best you can get. - Reply to this comment
- I am still a Hillary Clinton supporter. Senator Obama may need her as his VP pick to get enough support to win.
When I look at John McCain, I see that he admittedly is not knowledgeable about the Economy. What I do know is that John McCain wants the Republican Spending, Spending, Spending on the War in Iraq to continue longer than I do. The economy will not get any better until we stop throwing our money in the deep black hole of the Iraq War. After 8 years of Republican leadership our country is NINE TRILLION IN DEBT.
When I look at John McCain, I see a man with a plethora of health problems who has yet to pick a running mate. It is very possible that Senator McCain''s running mate will be come President. McCain could have a heart attack or stroke at any time. To me, the choice of his running mate will be extremely important.
When I look at John McCain, I see a man deeply anti-abortion and it makes me wonder, what John McCain thinks about stem cell research.

- I think Senator Obama is on the wrong track on this issue because even though the drilling would not net results for a long while, it would send a message to OPEC that their market share will eventually be reduced. That could upset OPEC enough to stop the current price gouging, that is, make OPEC stop killing their golden goose. If we had started drilling 15 years ago, we''''d have the oil now.

- And I guess that the74blaster''s method for providing tax relief is to confiscate CEO pay - as though taking that $50 million he''s railing about will do anything. It works out to about 20 cents/year for everyone in this country. So if every CEO in the Fortune 1000 made 50 million/year, and we confiscated every dime of it, that''s $200/year per person. Then go and find some volunteers to lead every one of the biggest companies for free, because the current CEO''s won''t.

Obama is not perfect and I never said he was. However, roughly 3/4s of us feel the country is headed in the wrong direction. Is voting for McCain going to change this?
Probably not. Is voting for Obama going to change this. Possibly but its also not a certainty.
However, the fact that Obama is talking about our nations infrastructure and McCain is not clearly defines their intent.
I would rather vote for a slight chance at change than vote for no chance.

I get more tax relief from Obama than I do from McCain. Unlike previous elections I am voting with my pocketbook in mind.
I suggest everyone else do the same.
I am tired of hearing about CEOs getting a 50 million bonus after they layoff more Americans to improve the bottom line of a corporation. That is the easy way out and any one of us could do that job function.
If corporations were concerned about competing internationally they would sack the CEO and keep the 50 million bonus and the technical staff during a recession. Keeping 50 million in salary to support the salaries of 500 competent engineers and scientists will do more for a companys future that retaining one over priced CEO.
Its time to send a message to high rollers by voting out the politicians supporting their agenda. Unfortunately, McCain is the presumptive GOP nominee and his is going to pay for Bushs unwavering support of the high rollers. - Reply to this comment
