Comments on: Some House Dems Decline To Endorse Obama

Local Political Concerns Take Precedence For At Least 14 Lawmakers

Obama is treating half the democratic party as if they are children who did not actually have a preference for the other candidate for president.

There is one person that got easily half the democrat votes, and that person should be VP---
unless Barack is such a legend in his own mind, that he can win in november with the Democratic Party having one arm behind its back.

This ...need... for a comittee or someone to help poor Obama ...find...the obvious VP candidate,
is asssinine.

Anybody with a brain can see that Obama is trying to hedge for throwing Hillary Clinton under his campaign bus and not choosing her as VP....he can just blame his VETTING COMMITTEE!!! And go, Oh, Oh, I had to act on their recommendations and they didn''t think it was a good idea!

Obama really does think the public is stupid...and I guess half of it is, because they can''t see through his KRAP!

Many of the recalcitrant GOP members declined to detail their reasons for withholding support, but Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.) expressed major concerns about McCain%u2019s energy policies and Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) cited the Iraq war.

*** they are probably withholding support because they hate the fact that Juan Mccain voted to give amnesty to over 12 million illegals, heck he co-sponsored the amnesty bill! So No to Amnesty Mccain!

People ought to either wake up from their fog, start reading non biased news, or open your eyes to the truth because McCain is not Bush- and Obama is not experianced. The Democrat will raise your taxes, has not been to Iraq, and has never talked to Petraeous. The USA needs a leader, not a boy who wants to learn on the job. Obama is nothing more than an unqualified hypocrit.

*** I''d rather have the unqualified hypocrit, rather than 4 more years of bush, and amnesty for over 12 million illegals on an already shaky economy! How can you vote for someone that co-sponsored a bill that would have given amnesty to over 12 million illegals? No to Amnesty! Anyone other than Juan Amnesty Mcsame 2008!

*** If that was the case we would have never been stuck with bush that past 8 years, and wouldn''t have amnesty Mccain as a nominee! Mccain needs to move down to mexico, since he cares more about mexicans than US citizens!

McCain has problems with his own party - this AP article touches upon it, but then largely dismisses it. According to a recent poll 50% of Republicans are not satisfied with McCain.

And then there''s this article below:

New Gang of 14 won%u2019t back McCain
By Kristen Coulter and Bob Cusack
Posted: 06/11/08 07:48 PM [ET]

At least 14 Republican members of Congress have refused to endorse or publicly support Sen. John McCain for president, and more than a dozen others declined to answer whether they back the Arizona senator.

Many of the recalcitrant GOP members declined to detail their reasons for withholding support, but Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.) expressed major concerns about McCain%u2019s energy policies and Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) cited the Iraq war.

You keep talking about racism and fail to realize that this election is about the faith one has in the candidate and his ability to guide a ship thru troubled waters in troubled times. Let me tell you loud and clear, as I''ve heard from so many voters --- if Colin Powell had been one of the candidates --- he would win the election of 2008 without a doubt. Powell is one of the most respected and commanding figures in America and aside from some bigots (and they are a small minority of our electorate, believe me) Colin Powell could easily win the presidency if he chose to run. So stop with the racism nonsense. It''s not about race --- it''s about who inspires the confidence of the people -- the majority of the people. I pray that one day we will have another Colin Powell on the democratic side of the aisle and he will put all your racist rhetoric to sleep forever. This is America and we are all equal. Get that thru your head. Go read "The Man" by Irving Wallace (circa 1964) and learn something. It''s about the first black president and it''s very, very special.

Dems have doubts. Constituents have doubts. The vast silent majority has doubts. The democratic party is in serious trouble this year. Is this the best we have to offer? The post primary bump is pathetic. When we could have finally taken back the presidency --- we send out a trainee --- and what are they debating --- the quagmire of Iraq which can''t be over till it''s over. Even the voters know that by now. Bush got us into a mess and there is no Messiah who will be able to perform the miracle. The map will go red again and we won''t get another chance till 2012. What a waste of time and money. I hope you voters learn something this time. You sure didn''t learn from the last time and that''s why we''re in this mess.

The racism which you preach to be afraid of is likely a deep seated prejudice rooted within you. Your hipocrisy is difficult to stomach. The fact you publisize Obama''s Middle name is evidence of how you hate that which is different. I fear ignorant people like you; you are likely people who elected and re-elected GW. This administration will go down in history as a dark time in America. I can only pray that level-headed thoughtful, educated people will prevail.

Obama 08.

BS. Translation. We have a bunch of under-educated red-necks in my district and they ain''''t never going to vote for a black boy.

I live right up the block from there in Kansas and I can say that I am really proud of the Kansas Democrats. They voted 75pct for Obama. I think Kansas is going blue, or at least a very deep-purple!

Rep. Dan Boren, the only congressional Democrat in Oklahoma, calls Obama "the most liberal senator" in Congress and says he has no plans to make a public endorsement.

"We''re much more conservative" in eastern Oklahoma, Boren said. "I''ve got to reflect my district."

For most of these fence-sitters - at least 14 as of Wednesday - it boils down to political necessity: They are vulnerable Democrats in conservative-leaning districts who take pains to avoid aligning closely with the national party.

A politican has only one agenda, EVER, and that is re-election. Right, wrong, doesn''t matter. Re-election is EVERY politicians agenda, always.

It has been said for decades that the core of the Democratic Party would vote for a "yellow dog" if the dog were to be nominated. Now it has actually happened. The Democratic Party is about to nominate a "yellow dog" for President of the United States. Now we''ll find out how many Democrats will actually vote for the "yellow dog."

Your ACTIONS make you the person you are, not where you came from, or your color! It doesn''''''''t matter if you''''''''re white, black, green or purple...if you''''''''re not a good person, calling yourself a hyphenated name isn''''''''t going to spin you into being a good one!

-GOPs skkrewed all what could be skkrewable and more, for the last 7,5 years, that the Nation needs a deep change and a rest for healing to take place.

-All in all this isn''''t a great story. Next please!

The trouble with your reasoning is that you present it like the whole republican party did this to you, when it was the Bush/Cheny administration that did it! They''re not even true republicans, they''re a regime! And you''re trying to blame it all on the republican party, when your and MY damned democrats sat up there in Washington and didn''t even TRY to stop it is ridiculous!

You forget that the main reason we''re in economic trouble is because of Bush''s war! And 530 legislators voted to let him do it! Then continued to support it by funding it!

It wasn''t until the PEOPLE started raising the hue and cry that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, that ONE DAMNED LEGISLATOR said a WORD! Out of ALL of them!

And you forget that the democrats haven''t presented a candidate that could even get the confidence of the people to get a resounding effort to put Bush/Cheney out of office.

And NOW you people want to put another dipwad candidate out there that STILL can''t get the confidence of the people, BECAUSE HE LIES SO DAMNED MUCH!

I know you Democrats like to believe this. I can only assume because it makes you fffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll special??

I get a very similar response every time I point out that OsamaObama is the #1 most liberal member of the whole US Senate. And, #2 isn''t even slose.

How many of you Democrats are honest enough to openly admit, your vote is for sale? I''ve had one to date honest enought to openly admit this.

We all know your approach to this election is solely rooted in, "America be damned, what''s in it for me?"

If you doubt this, just watch any and all of these Democrat candidates run....All of their races are focused on what they promise to give you if you vote for them.

Now show me where John McCain offers such pandering for votes??
