Being in the military doesn''t necesarily raise your status, I was in 4 years, during which time I saw the absolute dregs of the earth. Drunks, thieves, sexual deviates, the lot.

It was common knowledge that most "lifers" couldn''t make it on the outside!

Mccain claims this will be to expensive and will weaken retention in the military. Ya know what, I would rather see my tax dollars going to help and support our brave men and women in uniform than line the pockets of blackwater and halliburton. As a veteran mccain should be ashamed of himself for not SUPPORTING OUR SOLDIERS. He is truly a disgrace to the very uniform he wore. You do not need to have served in the military to do what is right for our Veterans.

What''s wrong with people who haven''t served the military on this modern time as a president? Back in the middle-ages I understand you needed to have military training coz you will lead your armies personally to the battlefield and fight with them. In modern times now we also have leaders with military backgrounds who made mistakes for their country. But enough is enough. Ths issue is who of this two {BO or MC} will serve us best on the most important problems facing the United States, which are better Healthcare, better Education, Employment and of course the declining Economy.

Yes he did....the only problem is, it was for the Russians! From what I''ve read about his college years, he never met a communist he didn''t like.

I had no idea McCain was such a loose cannon. Obama calls him a hero, and McCain snarls at him like a rabid dog. nice.

Visit http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/19991031/aponline183823_000.htm or google "McCain temper." You''ll learn that this display was nearly a zero on his temper tantrum scale. Some of his Republican Senate colleagues have borne the brunt of worse in the Senate.

If a president is going to have a temper like McBush''s, he really needs a better grasp on the facts about the Shia and Sunni and their positions in the Middle East. Even Bush has a better understanding of the players in the Middle East. Would he have Lieberman standing next to him during every minute of his entire term to correct him when he gets it wrong?
