Analysis: Electoral Math Is In Democrat's Favor To Get Nomination, But The Formula Is About To Change
- The truth is that most intelligent people don''''t care if the President is a bisexual Eskimo so long as they have the capacity to make reasoned judgements and the correct decisions to solve our problems and not make them any worse than they already are.
McCain will win the vote of those who have "issues'''' as opposed to having a concern for issues.

Well said. McCain is this elections Bob Dole. The GOP knows that with Bush''s disapproval rating the way it is (and yes, every election is more about the incumbent then anything else even when they''re not running) so they let McCain be on the top of a ticket that can''t win just as sort of a retirement present, just like with Dole in 1996. - Reply to this comment
- PPS And Barack hasn''t yet ever campaigned in FL and MI, so I''m not sure how accurate any seeming ''advantage'' of Hillary''s will hold once they have a chance to meet him.

Bush, Congress Clash over ports sale
Lawmakers want to halt (UAE Takeover) Bush Threatens Veto...
Wednesday, February 22, 2006;
The port of Newark, New Jersey, is one of the Six Facilities that would be affected by the deal.
Image:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Tuesday defended a deal that would let a United Arab Emirates-based company run some key U.S. seaports, telling reporters that he would veto any bill to hold up the agreement.
Your 2 Time Elected President: Bush, who has yet to Veto a Bill during his Administration, warned that the United States is sending "Mixed Signals" by attacking a Middle Eastern company after the ports were run by a British firm for several years.
Among the lawmakers from both parties threatening to hold up the deal is Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
"If the administration cannot delay the process, I plan on introducing legislation to ensure that the deal is placed on hold until this decision gets a more thorough review," Frist, a Tennessee Republican, said.
The administration has faced criticism this week over its decision to let a subsidiary of UAE government-
controlled maritime management firm Dubai Ports World run ports in (New York and New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Baltimore, Maryland; Miami, Florida; and New Orleans, Louisiana).

- msnbc pointed out yesterday that the Appalachia ''problem'' might isn''t unique to Barack because every election Kentucky Democrats vote Republican in the Presidential election.
I think this angle deserves more of a look because people who identify themselves as Democrats based on the ideology of the local/state Democrats in a Republican state are maybe just more drawn to Republicans on a federal level which has nothing to do with the candidate.
It''s just the opposite out West where many local/state Republicans are more like Democrats than Republicans as the California Supreme Court just demonstrated. HUGE difference between voting for a Republican Chief Justice of the Cal SC and voting for McSame for President . . . probably just the opposite in KY (?)
PS It''s also worth noting that it hasn''t been shown that Hillary would actually carry KY or WV in the general, or that Barack wouldn''t carry PA or OH has it? The polls show him competitive in the rust belt, and show neither competitive in Appalachia, don''t they? So does Barack really have a ''problem''? - Reply to this comment
- JERUSALEM - Israel and Syria on Wednesday said they were holding indirect peace talks through Turkish mediators %u2014 the first official confirmation of contacts between the longtime enemies.
In statements issued minutes apart, the two governments said they "have declared their intent to conduct these talks in good faith and with an open mind," with a goal of reaching "a comprehensive peace."
Both nations thanked Turkey for its help, and Turkey issued its own confirmation. Muslim Turkey has good ties with both Israel and Syria.
There have been reports in recent months of new Israeli-Syrian contacts through Turkey, and Turkey''s foreign minister said earlier this month that his country was trying to bring the sides together. But this was the first official confirmation that contacts have resumed.
An Israeli government official said Olmert''s chief of staff and diplomatic adviser have been in Turkey since Monday. "In parallel their Syrian counterparts are in Turkey as well," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the talks. He declined to discuss the substance of the talks. - Reply to this comment
It would be a public service if some credible news service would investigate Larry Sinclair%u2019s allegations of drug use and gay *** with Obama in 1999. There was a polygraph exam and according to the examiner, it showed some deception; however the computer analysis showed that he passed it. So whether Mr. Sinclair%u2019s claims are true or not goes to the heart of the credibility and truthfulness of Sen. Obama. This is clearly an important issue considering the position which is being pursued.
The statements from Rev. Manning, the statement from a person on Mr. Sinclair%u2019s blog that one of Obama%u2019s pilots saw Obama kissing a male aid, and a Chicago restaurant owner learning from her patrons of Obama being on the %u201Cdown low%u201D- all tend to support Mr. Sinclair%u2019s allegations. Mr. Sinclair and Rev. Manning claim to have evidence proving their allegations, but they each say they are waiting on disclosing the evidence. (It might be that advice of counsel or political timing is the reason.) However, it seems as though the main street media is determined to keep these allegations from seeing the light of day and truth. Nevertheless, the number of people talking about these allegations is growing every day. (708,146 hits on http://larrysinclair0926.wordpress.com May 21, 2008.) Therefore it is imperative that these allegations be quickly either corroborated or put to rest. Someone or organization must have the courage to take the heat in order find out the truth.- Reply to this comment

- Issues voters will support Obama...
The Hillary camp is proud (and privately using the argument) that their supporters would not accept Obama as much as Obama supporters would support her in a general election. There is however a simple truth behind this. More Obama supporters are "issue" voters while she has two large feeder constituencies specifically - gender voters and racists. Any issues person who supports one of the democratic candidates would likely support the democratic alternative as the differences between them are modest while the difference with McCain is staggering. - Reply to this comment

- lasurfgrl, little lady, I have a news flash for you: Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, and O''Rielly are rightwing propaganda tools and Fox is not really news. Try if you can, to exercise a little bit of common sense and stop repeating that nonsense. You might want to exercise a little independence and use what the Good Lord gave you.
