Comments on: Clinton Camp Opposes Mich. Delegate Plan
State Party's Plan Would Give Clinton 69 Delegates And Obama 59 Delegates
- RowdyTexan,
Since you keep claiming that she''''s beating him in the
popular vote while every media outlet, website, and independent observer knows otherwise(including Clinton''''s own people and donors), why don''''t you give us your numbers and where you got them.

- pentangl,
Thanks for reposting her letter which is a pack of lies.
If she had not circumvented what she and all the other candidates agreed to(not just her and Obama)then the Primaries wouldn''t have happened in January and would''ve immediately been resheduled in time for the voters in those 2 states to participate.
The voters in Florida should be angry with their Republican Legislature and the voters in both states should be angry with Hillary for causing this mess.
I think most of those who''ve been following this are. - Reply to this comment

- Just another shining example as to why she won''t be the nominee. She has been adamant that the Michigan delegation has to be seated. Now that a fair and equitable plan has been put forth it really isn''t that important that they be seated and their "voices be heard". What is important is that she get full credit for a primary where she was the only person on the ballot.
This has been a sham from the beginning and shows clearly once again that Hillary is only interested in Hillary. Remeber folks she wants everyones vote to count - until she needs the superdelegates to completely ignore all those votes and the will of the people to allow her to be the nominee.
How ridiculous and embarassing for her. - Reply to this comment

All of your posts proved nothing. Obama is agreeing to seat the delegates, but Hillary is now rejecting the plan since she''s not going to get ALL of the votes, whether they voted for her or not.
She believes that she should get ALL 2.3 million votes, and EVERY delegate from both states.
SHE is the one holding up the seating of the delegates - NOT Obama. - Reply to this comment
- But that''''s where you''''re WRONG! He''''s NOT beating her in the popular vote. She knows this, the DNC knows this!

Since you''re apparently UNAWARE as to how the system works, it''s DELEGATES that count - NOT popular votes. Popular votes ARE NOT tabulated in caucuses - therefore it''s the delegates that decide the nominee.
AND even if it was decided by the popular vote:
Obama - 15,926,550
Clinton - 15,216,764
Difference - Obama +709,786
With Florida:
Obama - 16,502,764
Clinton - 16,087,750
Difference - Obama 415,014
With Florida AND Michigan:
Obama - 16,502,764
Clinton - 16,416,059
Difference - Obama 86,705
And that DOES NOT include the caucus states. Or are you now going to suggest that they should now be disenfranchised / discounted to help Hillary''s failing campaign?
You know - move the benchmarks - AGAIN? - Reply to this comment

I am asking you to join me in working with representatives from Florida and Michigan and the Democratic National Committee to arrive at a solution that honors the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan. It is not enough to simply seat their representatives at the convention in Denver. The people of these great states, like the people who have voted and are to vote in other states, must have a voice in selecting our party''s nominee.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton - Reply to this comment

- INCLUDING FL and MI, he''''s beating her in delegates, popular vote, money, and (by tomorrow) super delegates.
How can you POSSIBLY make the ridiculous claim that she''''s going to win at the convention, when she''''s losing in every possible metric, especially in delegates since they''''re the ONLY ones that count?

- Continuation:
I have consistently said that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan in January should be counted. We cannot ignore the fact that the people in those states took the time to be a part of this process and to make their preferences known. When efforts were untaken by leaders in those states to hold revotes to ensure that they had a voice in selecting our nominee, I supported those efforts. In Michigan, I supported a legislative effort to hold a revote that the Democratic National Committee said was in complete compliance with the party''s rules. You did not support those efforts and your supporters in Michigan publically opposed them. In Florida a number of revote options were proposed. I am not aware of any that you supported. In 2000, the Republicans won an election by successfully opposing a fair counting of votes in Florida. As Democrats, we must reject any proposals that would do the same.
Your commitment to the voters of these states must be clearly stated and your support for a fair and quick resolution must be clearly demonstrated. - Reply to this comment

- Dear Senator Obama,
This has been an historic and exciting campaign. Millions of new voters have been brought into the process and their enthusiasm for the Democratic Party and the principles for which you and I have fought and continue to fight is unprecedented.
One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted. That principle is not currently being applied to the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in primaries in Florida and Michigan. Whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be hamstrung in the general election if a fair and quick resolution is not reached that ensures that the voices of these voters are heard. Our commitment now to this goal could be the difference between winning and losing in November. - Reply to this comment
