The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment

by Borgna Brunner

For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis. These men, for the most part illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama, were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Informed that they were being treated for %u201Cbad blood,%u201D their doctors had no intention of curing them of syphilis at all.

The data for the experiment was to be collected from autopsies of the men, and they were thus deliberately left to degenerate under the ravages of tertiary syphilis%u2014which can include tumors, heart disease, paralysis, blindness, insanity, and death. %u201CAs I see it,%u201D one of the doctors involved explained, %u201Cwe have no further interest in these patients until they die.%u201D

Rev Wright didn''t make this up.

Is anybody commenting aware that Rev. Wright has white members in his church. How did that happen?

Posted by genesis15 at 05:42 PM : Apr 30, 2008

It happens, I am white and my church has Blacks in it, (also Hispanic, Deaf, Laotian, Thai, and a majority of Whites.) What a church has does not matter as much as ''what a church is''.

barefootboy.....You can''''t love your country too much if you are voting republican.

Just look at what the republicans have done to this country. Hillary might as well be a republican because she is supporting Bush policies.
----------------------------------------------
I think Bush''s policies are a lot better than anything Obama would have. I think the worse thing that could happen to us is elect Obama. Grow up and study history. If we did not fight we would not be free. Go to some of the other countries and see how they live. Why do they come to this country for medical treatment? Obama would be like Jimmy Carter, give everything away and not have guts enough to stand up for America. We had good times when Reagan and Clinton were in office.

This entire Rev. Wright matter for me is a bunch of b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. blown way out of proportion for political reasons, people are responsible for themselves and no one else, Sen. Obama is not responsible for what comes out of Rev. Wrights mouth even if he sat right next to him the entire time he was preaching! Rev. Wright may be bad but this does not translate into Sen. Obama being bad as a result! This is like saying Bill Clinton''s negatives will rub off on Hillary Clinton and that once elected Hillary will go around the White House looking to have s.e.x. will young Intern males because of the bad influence of her husband. As far fetched as that logic seems, its basically the same idea trying to be attached to Sen. Obama! Next they willing be telling us to disqualify people because the Bartender who served the person drinks is filled with hate too! Where is all this going?, yes be mindful of the company you keep but this is extreme and retarded used in this context. In the end I guess Rev. Wrights entire 8000 member congregation is now infected as well with his negatives!

Why is it that these articles bear headlines that insinuate that it is about Hillary or what she said and wind up being 75% about trying to convince us that Obama is innocent of accociating with his pastor?
The media is unreal!

The only thing I believe that comes out of Rev. Wrights mouth is that Obama is coming out against him for political reasons.

I don''''t like the republican party, but as long as people like Obama, Kennedy, Kerry, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and those type people run it, I will vote republican. I love my country more than I do any party. I will vote for the man and that will be McCain if Obama is the nominee. I think millions more feel the same way.
