Mr. Bush raised the anti-Congress theme repeatedly. "I believe that they''re letting the American people down, is what I believe," he said. "It''s either a lack of leadership or a lack of understanding of the issue. And either way, it''s not good for the country."

He should look in the mirror while reciting those lines.

Bush had a rubber stamp Congress for 6 years. He had total control for all that time. And now he blames the current Congress for the mess? Give me a freakin break!

Can anyone seriously defend this BS rhetoric?

The correct spelling would be ABSOLUTELY. Also R-E-T-A-R-D does not have 2 d''s at the end of it.

This (doe) not make me a genius, just a little smarter than you.
Hope this helps and good luck with your times tables tomorrow.

Golly,...you''re so smart.....
I know I''''ve completely changed my opinion about 7 years of Neocon Nazi Rule being the cause of our Nation going from a Booming Economic Powerhouse
with a huge Budget Surplus and No War, to a Devistated Third-World Police State where Torture and Illegal Unconstitutional Governance is an everyday occurance. Thanks again!

(And I''m glad this doe not make you a genius)

Hopefully my fellow republicans will start judging this president by his reckless and retrogressive policies rather than shun criticism against him simply because he applies phony titles to himself; "patriot","christian","republican","fiscal and compassionate conservative".This president has done NOTHING to progress this country in the EIGHT years he has held office.NO healthcare reform, NO immigration reform,NO education reform,NO reform period on any of the many DOMESTIC problems facing America. The defence of this country is important, but if that''s the only measure we should use to define progress then we''re destined to become the most well-defended third world country on planet earth.WAKE UP REPUBLICANS.

Was watching c-span at 4 am. Had a professor from MIT. By suspending oil in the reserve, oil would drop in half in price within weeks. By releasing oil, prices would fall even sharper. Humm Bush says this won''''t work. Bill Clinton came up with this idea and had oil below $9.00 a barrel. Hummm According to Bush all of these SMART people are wrong. I saw this too!

So today, Bush engages in his petulant, brow-beating, bullying, lying-about-the-real-cause again and the media does not call him on it.

The Fourth Estate is so dead.

When all else fails, pass the buck!

Yeah, who''s been in charge these past 7 years!

This economy was created by your policies of war and greed!

So now, let''s use the high gas prices to pursue that other neocon agenda, drill for oil in Alaska!

Fantastic strategy.

Create artificially inflated gas prices, make your oil buddies wealthy and now use it as a pretext to drill for oil in Alaska and put more cash in your oil buddies.

Like terrorism!

Great pretext to start a war to enrich your Halliburton buddies!

Gee George- I hate to bring this up, but what about the $700,000,000.00 embassy over in Iraq? Could the fact that you''ve thrown away millions upon millions of dollars in high-end, no-bid contracts to private contractors that haven''t even finished the jobs yet have anything to do with our failing economy? Duh...

Bush is trying to force opening of Alaska reserves and coastal areas to drilling. If the price keeps going up the pressure builds to open up these areas. We need to get off oil--but it will take some time. Meanwhile the envirnmentalists are going to have to compromise and so will the oil industry! How about more forests and wildlife protection in exchange for more coastal areas opened up for drilling and a reduction in gas prices? I am sure we could come up with more possible compromises.

Another thing that Bush keeps doing is blaming everyone else for his difficulties.Giving the oil companies free rein has resulted in these prices. They don''t have the faintest fear that he would act on behalf of the people and limit them in any way.
