Take Action: Tell Congress To Investigate the Propaganda Pundits

By: Nicole Belle @ FreePress:

The New York Times has exposed a secret Pentagon campaign to infiltrate the media with pro-war propaganda.

The scheme reaches all the way to the Bush White House, where top officials recruited dozens of %u201Cmilitary analysts%u201D to spread favorable views of the war via the news. Many of these propaganda pundits didn%u2019t reveal that they were working from Pentagon scripts or lobbying for companies seeking to cash in on major military contracts.

This is a violation of every conceivable standard of journalism %u2014 and possibly of federal law.

House Republicans reverse course, object to fair elctions

By: SilentPatriot

Despite unanimously supporting a bill in committee two weeks ago that would provide federal funds to local governments to pay for recounts and paper trails, House Republicans have reversed course and blocked the bill from receiving an up-or-down vote. This move ensures two things, and two things only: a) the accusations of fraud that marred the 2000 and 2004 elections will continue, and b) the GOP shows once and for all that they have nothing but contempt for our democracy and free and fair elections.

Obama Attempts to Deceive the Superdelegates ;
By Bud WhitecloseAuthor
After Obama%u2019s devastating defeat in Pennsylvania, the Obama campaign released a memo addressed to the superdelegates but published in the Wall Street Journal which argues that Obama would be the strongest candidate in the Fall against McCain. The memo is so deeply flawed that Jerome Armstrong ridicules it as %u201Csatire,%u201D and %u201Cexhibit A%u201D for %u201Cintellectual dishonesty%u201D:
I don%u2019t know that I%u2019ve ever seen anything a campaign poll memo that so obviously cherry-picks polls over the last 4 months to make their case. It%u2019s almost satire. Some rookie mailed it in on behalf of the Obama campaign%u2019s %u201Cmemo to the superdelegates%u201D. I couldn%u2019t imagine a known political blogger creating this list, and not being laughed and mocked out of the blogosphere.
Not only are the polls cited by Obama Inc. stale, but much has transpired since many of these polls were taken. Most importantly, Rev. Wright has entered the nation%u2019s consciousness and Obama%u2013contrary to his claims%u2013failed to repudiate Wright.
Obama was able to blunt criticism in the media by giving his %u201Crace%u201D speech, but the public at large has turned off to Obama and the rational for his candidacy has vanished.

"Before being shot down and then captured by Vietnamese civilians, McCain made his living dropping bombs on cities in Vietnam. There are also MANY reports that once captured, McCain gave classified information to the enemy to save his own butt. Again, that was after being captured while dropping bombs on their cities.

So, other than 4 or 5 (your ''MANY reports'') liberal anti-war websites that quote each other on the same accusation, do you have any documented proof of your position from a reputable source, or are you just trotting out the same mantras and dogma you''ve been fed all your life from the liberal lie machine?

Go ahead and get your digs in now McCain, because once the Democratic primary ends, We the People are going to swift boat your asss into next century!! Here''s a little taste to wet your double-talking lips, McCain.

Before being shot down and then captured by Vietnamese civilians, McCain made his living dropping bombs on cities in Vietnam. There are also MANY reports that once captured, McCain gave classified information to the enemy to save his own butt. Again, that was after being captured while dropping bombs on their cities.

As a final thought, how would you like it if McCain and his gaggle of warmongerers dropped bombs on your town?

What would you have done to McCain had you caught him after dropping bombs on your city? All I can say is, he''s lucky no members of his political base captured him. They''d have killed him on the spot.

Get ready McCain, We the People are going to swift boat your asss into next century!!!

I think the news networks that run these ads should be held accountable for their role in degrading the quality of the debate in the public sphere.

CBS Raleigh & ABC Charlotte have already taken a stand & refused to air these ads, but what about the others?

For those of us who strive to obtain a presidential debate that is a dialog about real issues instead of fear mongering, lets take action against the news networks that let this kind of fear mongering go on the air:

lindaretail, I,d like to stay and chat, but I have a nasty storm moving in and I need to shut down. I will finish with this, if it was a democrat that changed their view on an inportant issue like this, every republican with the ear of a journalist would be sreaming FLIP-FLOPPER until it was on every news station.

tracy9morgan,,,, And Iraqi''s want Clinton or Obama as our next President ---- So, what''s your point ??

Aren''t any others entitled to their own political views ?? -- Or, do you think they should only be entitled to your views ??

Kaviz on a couple of things he has flip-flopped. I''m a moderate and I didn''t like the idea of every illegal immigrant getting to stay without having to get in line behind those who have done things legally. I wasn''t in favor of general amnesty. I know of people who waited a long time to be able to come here. But neither do I think building a wall across the desert southwest is the answer either. He totally changed his position. He''s capitulating. It''s just another sign that the conservatives have too much power.

Also the Republicans eat drink and breathe political strategy. They picked someone who doesn''t have baggage. There isn''t a lot of skeletons in his closet. But there are a few things. Lobbyist connections that they should be looking at. As long as the Dems are fighting among themselves he gets a pass. That''s not good.

lindaredtail, On his switching his tax views, I think the republicans used to love the term "FLIP-FLOPPER". It sure seams appropriate for him.

I think they are going to need to stick to ideas like he changed his mind on the tax cuts, immigration reform and the like. He''s a big supporter of the war in Iraq and thinks about attacking Iran. (not just the song his supporters talk about it). From being a maverick he''s now a capitulator. He had to have the conservatives to win the nomination and he split them and it was enough. Now they are behind him. He isn''t showing the old "Straight Talk Express'' independant self anymore. The status quo will reign and he''ll be a puppet of the elite. Today he criticized Bush over Katrina but that is old news. We all know that the response to Katrina was as bad as the disaster itself.

If he truly wants to take the high road, he should not only criticize the add, but also the organization that ran it and the individuals that OK,d it. Also, return any financial support they donated. I know he won''t because he knows he will need them in November.

I hope that this false add campaign backfires on the Republicans too. Just a thought. Pat Robertson spews hateful bigotry all the time. Bob Jones spews hateful rhetoric all the time. Reverend Hagee spews hate all the time. They all have people who follow them regularly and have been for years. So not one of those people (Including those that watch CBN regularly) should ever be able to run for the presidency of the United States by the logic of the Republicans.Let''s not forget the regular daily viewers of the 700 club. We mustn''t leave them out.
