- fybeberg: When a major candidate for President of the United States has as his/her "mentor and spiritual adviser" a self-admitted pedophile, and when that candidate associates with that pedophile for 20 years, then I believe your analogy would be relevant.

- Isn''t it interesting that Rev. Wright''s words have caused so much grief for Senator Obama but the pedophiles of Catholicism and their flock are forgotten. The multitude of Catholic leaders, congressman, and etc have not been asked to leave their ministers of faith. The mutiplicity of mental and physical harm generated by the Catholic ministers cannot begin to compare with the words of Rev. Wright. After watching the Pope in DC...these thoughts came to mind.

- So, after discussing every KKK fear in the book; How''s that yellow toothed NEOCON/LOBBYIST PUPPET McCain, going to VOTE on THE VETERAN''S BENEFIT BILL that he''s so far AGAINST ALLOWING.
MAYBE EVERY VETERAN should dump their DEPENDENT FIRST WIFE LIABILITIES to have an AFFAIR WITH and - like the POLYGAMISTS (but legally if NOT MORALLY) GET A SECOND WIFE that HAS A 100 MILLION DOLLAR DOWRY!!
Sure makes it a LOT easier to get HEALTH-CARE.
SO, WHY can''t he get those TEETH CLEANED UP? - Reply to this comment
- Now, boy, youse getting too uppity for those light skinned folk. Keep yo''self down, boy, and don''t you presume to look them folks in the eye; youse just let nature take its course and them folk decide what''s best for us, yea hear?

- Irish Wench: Thank you. The sad thing is that if people really knew Obama for what he is, he wouldn''t have stood a chance from the beginning. His whole "change" and "unity" campaign has been a terrible fraud on the American public. I only hope it is not too late for Hillary to "save the day" and shield this country from this hoax. If not, I will have to vote Republican for the first time in my life.

- If Obama couldn''t handle last night very well (which he didn''t), how is he going to fend off the Republican slime machine. He needs to fess up and tell the truth about the issues like Hillary did last night. When asked about the Bosnia incident, she admitted that she exaggerated, and apologized. When asked about his knowledge of Rev. Wright''s views, Obama continues to lie and expect us to believe that he had no idea his "mentor and spiritual adviser" had those views. One would have to be a moron to believe that, after his 20 year close relationship with Wright. He also lied about the flag pin issue (which, by the way, I think is a non-issue), when he stated that he had never said he wouldn''t wear one. I immediately went to YouTube and found his statement that he wouldn''t wear one in about 2 minutes. He also lied about the issue of his stance on gun control as stated in the questionnaire he filled out in his run for state senate. If Obama doesn''t want to have many more tense moments like he had last night, he needs to be honest with the American public; he needs to admit that he is very much like politicians in general. For those who doubt this, here is an article from the Chicago Tribune about how Obama obtained his first elective office. Read this article, and then decide for yourself if he represents "change."

- I agree with Questionnews that we need a new third party. For the last eight years our country has been in the grips of extremism. Now on the Dems side we see some people so determined to get what they want they''ll overturn the will of the voters which is also extreme. We have a pattern of reoccurring extremism in the U.S. Especially since the twentieth century. We saw extremism during the days of Jim Crow (and the KKK) We saw it during the days of McCarthyism. We saw extremism during the Civil Rights movement when people seeking their rights as Americans were beaten, killed, had their churches bombed. Now we are living it again. Something always happens though, and it is happening once more. People of good heart, intent and purpose watch for a while then stand up and say enough. No more illegal wiretaps, unjust wars and people''s patriotism being questioned if they disagree with this president and his supporters. It started on election 2006. And the River continues to flow back once again towards a tributary of moderation and reason. Good for us.

- Republicans are sad; an angry tragedian......the worst America has to offer.

I agree, but I don''t think the Dems are any different. As an independent I see both sides succumbing to the extremist of their parties. As the years go on their philosophies get more extreme and only the most radical of each party are the one''s that get heard. Repubs sound more & more like Hitler and the Dems sound more & more like Stalin. Neither a desired state. The encouraging thing is both parties are losing members quickly and more folks are registering Independent. Hopefully a party can emerge and we can get a little closer to center as opposed to 4 years of swinging right, 8 years swinging left and so on back & forth. A Newsweek article indicated that by 2025 Dems & Rebubs will comprise only 40% of voters. I can''t wait. - Reply to this comment
- Yep...good night you crazy Americans......
"God bless America." This phrase is used correctly when it conjures an image of God helping people cope with the great losses they have incurred, when it pulls members of the nation together to help and serve one another, and when it asks for the healing of our brokenness that only God can offer. This phrase is used incorrectly when it implies that God should bless our nation at the expense of others, that the United States should enjoy special privilege in the sight of God, or that the lives of Americans are inherently more valuable than the lives of any other people in the world." - unknown - Reply to this comment
- Like IrishWench I like to study religions and I did in college. Taddles also seems well informed. Learning about other people''s faiths is a positive way to promote tolerance. I have never walked in an African American''s shoes. I have black friends and I can only imagine the frustration they must feel over years of racism. I have twice attended services at primarily black churches and found the experience to be inspiring. That some black ministers might give in to the frustration and be angry at America for the wrongs that have been done to them and their flock does not surprise me. I wonder though what really legitimate reasons white ministers have who are priveledged in our society along with their congregation for showing racism, anger and bigotry. I don''t see any.

Like the IRS regularly checks on the non-profit status of churches...or should. They check my non-profit status for my company every year, like f**king clockwork. - Reply to this comment

LOL, the Lenin Peace Prize is Russia''s equivalent to the Nobel Peace Prize. DuBois renounced his citizenship because the US Government would not issue him a passport. He and his wife became citizens of Ghana and he died at the age of 95 soon afterwards.
DuBois was a lifelong advocate of black rights in an area when black men were routinely hanged for simply walking on the wrong side of the street.
Your claim to renounce DuBois is akin to the Catholic Churches claim to denounce Martin Luther and for the same pathetic reasons. - Reply to this comment
