- McCain, who says he was tortured by the Viet Cong for 5 years, but NEVER told them anything, used to be strongly OPPOSED to torture. Now that he is running on the NeoCon Party (nee GOP), he SUPPORTS torture. WHY?
There are only a few possibilities:
1. He changed his position (flip-flopped) to win the votes of the torture-loving sadists who vote repuglican.
2. He is really, really stu.pid, because he doesn''t understand that his own experience demonstrates that torture is worthless.
3. He truly WANTS our soldiers to be caught and tortured just like he was... to "spread the joy", so to speak.
4. He LIED about not telling them anything, so he is a TRAITOR, but he actually believes torture will work.
5. He is utterly IN.SANE, so there''s no real rhyme or reason to anything that comes out of his mouth.
Whatever explanation you pick, it means McCain is NOT QUALIFIED to be president.
His wife''s money is irrelevent. Her money and connections got him into politics. But it was already obvious to everyone that he didn''t get the job based on talent or intelligence or looks. - Reply to this comment

- The Democrat Party has no problem forgiving Obama''s anti-American and racist affiliation a pass since most of them share those viewpoints. However, when it comes time to comparing a real war hero like John McCain to this smug hypocrite, there will be no contest. The Left is even attacking McCain for having bad teeth, but what they failed to realize was that his teeth were knocked out when he was being beaten and tortured in a Vietnamese Prison camp. I think that compares more favorably with a guy who bowls at a 37 and a party that lionized an unpatriotic bag of trash like John Kerry.

- In the 80''s I attended what was supposed to be a seminar focused at buying silver for investment. Nothing was ever asked about my political affiliation. It was an all expense paid trip. When the group of us attended the first lecture I noticed that there were several publications all having to do with Conservative Republicans and urged to take copies. One book was signed by Captain "Red" McDaniels although I don''t remember whether he was there or that is was "presigned". They talked about our burying the silver bars. There was also much talk about getting up a million dollars to buy back a POW. I seem to remember that McCain was connected with all of this and later heard that the whole thing was a scam. I also remember one of the politician''s wives doing a talk and perhaps it was McCain''s wife. It has made me wonder what the Republican party will "buy".

- It seems like most candidates for major office have a lot of money.
It''s too expensive to run for most people. If they''re not wealthy, they have to depend on big donors (which always looks bad, even if it''s not necessarily) or a whole bunch of little donors, which requires a very special type of candidate (like Obama or maybe Edwards). - Reply to this comment

- Interesting that John and Cindy had a prenuptial agreement; was it to keep his hands off her money or to give him political cover when the family engaged in crooked business deals?
Also interesting that both Keating and Paxson bribed McCain with use of their private jets; they must have known that old navy pilots never die.
