Bipartisan Team Says GOP Candidate's Birth In Panama Canal Zone Doesn't Disqualify Him From Being President
Yep, McCain is a natural born Bush clone. Four more wars!

- McSame. Very Appropriate. He wants another hundred years at war.
The Republicans are just nailing everything they can about this guy to protect themselves, so that they can set new records of "going negative" in the election.
Barak isn''t ready. H. Clinton pointed this out a while back--and Obams followers thought it was crazy. - Reply to this comment
- Yuh- He''s a natural-born something or other. The word "loser" comes to mind. He has trouble remembering who we''re at war with, let alone where the Bahgdad flea market is located.

- Isn''''t this interesting?! A Republican files a case against the vaguity of what constitutes a ''''natural born'''' citizen and what does not; it could ultimately cost Mr. McCain his nomination, and Claire McCaskill (D-MO)forwards legislation which would qualify Mr. McCain as well as another Democrat, Lawrence Tribe, who is also assisting.
Essentially, hurt by a fellow Rep, helped by Dems; maybe Mr. McCain should think about that the next time he launches an unwarranted attack on the Dem nominees, huh?!" - stn_sage
First, the GOPer wanted the clarification to make sure MoveOn or Kos or Media Matters or some other left-wing slime outfit couldn''t produce this as an October surprise; McCain did the same thing himself in his 2000 run. And its a stupid question, of course he is a natural born citizen; I would like to see the POS who would like to argue the sons/daughters of our US military personnel and civil service personnel serving abroad aren''t qualified to be able to run for president.
An "unwarranted attack" on Dem nominees, please, do you actually believe the shi* your shoveling? Before you say something that stupid again, ask Hillary or Barack to stop lying about McCain''s policies and calling him "Bush''s third term"; there are going to be attacks by both sides, but its a complete sign of ignorance and bias to call McCain''s attacks (which none have been personal BTW, unlike Hillary and Barack''s on each other) "unwarranted". - Reply to this comment

- Title 8 of the U.S. Section 1401 establishes the rules for who is a natural born citizen. Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S. is considered a natural born citizen. That is the provision that applies to McCain. It even goes further than that. Bottom line if you are born to a US citizen (either mother or father) who has ever lived in the US you are considered a natural born US citizen no matter where you are born. This story is basically about nothing and the lawyers involved need to go back to law school.

- I''m an Obama supporter but I have to say, this is a NON issue. The man''s dad served and did his duty. Born on a base or similar in another country under such conditions, the man is entitled to be where he is now. Its a non-issue mediA-world, move on will ye!
